60 DVDs?

Surely a candidate for a Blu-ray disc release by now.

Good price though. "Heat" added.

If we're really lucky they'll release it season by season at £40+ a pop :whistling:

Tempted.... i've been waiting for this to get down to 50 quid before i buy it. With Quidco it works out a tad over £54.
But now i'm wondering whether to wait for a Bluray set.
Hot.

This one comes with all the movies too?

Comes with the first 1998 movie, but not the 'I Want To Believe' 2008 movie.

Decided to get this set, i've put it off long enough.

To be honest I can't see this ever happening. My understanding is that the first five seasons, although shot on film, were actually edited onto video. This means there is no point what-so-ever in releasing them on BD, as there would most likely be no increase in PQ over standard def DVD.

I can't think of a single tv show, shot on, or edited to, video tape, that has been released on BD. There simply wouldn't be any point.

How about the original "Star Trek" TV Series?

Ok then maybe just shot on video. Shows like Star Trek TOS, and The Prisoner were shot on film, so a release on BD is justified. However if a show is actually shot on video, say Blackadder II, then releasing it on BD would seem pointless because the resolution simply isn't there.
In the case of the X-Files, I can only image a HD transfer being possible if the original film elements are still intact, in their unedited form. It would be nice, but I just can't see it happening. Hopefully I'm wrong.
