Hi all.

Just in case this interests anyone looking to purchase this set - whilst I love the X-Men movies I was a little disappointed with this boxed edition. If you are enticed by the thought of seeing extended versions of the movies; as I was; then these disks may not impress. Don't get me wrong - this is a great value way to own the first three movies and there are loads of extra material to be had but I found the way they handled the edited footage that was cut/missing from the cinema release versions was somewhat 'bungled' to say the least.

To explain: These are not 'extended' versions of the movies at all. They are; as they put it; enhanced versions. What this amounts to is that they have spliced original scenes back into the movies but they are NOT seamless. The movie kind of stutters (or stops momentarily) and the disk accesses the scene which then plays. When it finishes it then stutters again and returns to the proper movie again. The annoying thing is, they could've edited it so much better but it returns to the movie and plays the same scene; albeit the cut down version; that you just watched! This interruption was enough to ruin the enjoyment for me personally and I just felt it could have been done like so many other extended movies by just popping the scenes in seamlessly. I'm not a professional movie editor so I really don't have a real say but I felt it seemed like laziness on the producers part that they couldn't be bothered to spend any time (or money) on decent editing.

Just my two-penneth anyway. I only paid £4.50 for the set from The Hut so I have no real grounds to complain really. As I said, you do get the original versions on the disks so it's still a great buy whichever way you cut it.

Best regards to y'all.
