These things really are good. I have one for when I'm travelling on the bike. They're tiny and sound good for the size. They are also surprisingly loud.
#11
Excellent! Been looking to buy another one of these so that I have stereo sound! (with splitter cable of course!)
#12
Great little speaker, impressive battery life and quality. Use one in the landy at work, no radio and you can hear it over the noise of the engine!
#13
bought one last week, they are awesome, both sound and build quality are excellent.

Also worth noting you can daisy chain loads of them together.

These are great but think it is worth getting 2, which will fit in one pouch for when you go away...
#15
On a previous thread for these, a stereo splitter was referred to which enables the speakers to perform in stereo. Any ideas? I have a standard stereo splitter which can be used for 2 pairs of headphones, but that wont help these speakers split the sound into 2 channels and give stereo separation.
Great speakers by the way, had 2 for a while and always take them on holiday.
#16
Gotta be honest i bought 4 and after reading the reviews was quite looking forward to getting them - when i did get them i felt quite let down....they are 'average'.

Err... you could try something like the following, but it seems a tad expensive.

They can be had for around £2.50 on a certain auction website. Just search "mono splitter" the 15cm ones seem about right. :)

These are very good. The splitter cable can be found on fleabay for £3 if not less. Search for 3.5mm stereo to female mono. I also got a 3.5mm extension cable to allow greater separation between the two speakers.

These Speakers ARE truly awsome and Legendry in the industry but be careful.

-It is a little known FACT that at the 1979 Led Zeppelin Knebwoth Gig,at the start just as Page and Plant were about to electrify the crowd with a classic rendition of "The Song remains the same" they realised there was a problem with the MARSHAL 6550 beam pentode power valve amplifiers.

Thinking quickly and being an aficionado of the very latest technology Bonham (drummer) sent one of the roadies to the back of tour bus where he kept his first generation portable X! Mini speakers.

After connecting the X1 mini speakers they were back in business. There was only one problem. The crowds ears actually started to bleed due the thunderous wattage being produced.

There was no option.

For the first and last time in their career they had too turn the X1 Mini speakers DOWN!

If you buy be careful ....please

Great informative response, It really depends on the laptop, I find my laptop speakers quite quiet so in that respect they would. However I dont really see them being used like that, for me they are a great thing to have for out in the garden or on holiday to plug in your phone or mp3 player ie places where power sockets are a problem. These certainly aren't bose quality speakers, but for value for money there is nothing better.

Work really well with my laptop at school. Certainly better than the built-in speakers.

IGNORE THIS PERSON.

If you want a mono signal going to two speakers just use the free cable included in the package.

However, if you want to have stereo with two of these speakers, you need a 'stereo plug to twin mono sockets' splitter lead.
Don't buy this one (too expensive postage) but this is the type of lead you need HERE

If you actually tried the search he suggested and looked at the 15cm one, you would see it is a stereo to 2 x mono splitter which is exactly what is required here. So no need to post your IGNORE rants.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my query. I appreciate ALL your efforts.

These are excellent speakers - voted hot!

I've got one of these which I use with our lap top and in a word...Awesome! I really can't praise these enough and a good price so great value. The sound quality is great you'd never think something so small and compact could sound as it does. You won't be disappointed!
#34
I have a couple and they are perfect for using out and about. Don't be fooled though, the quality is not to the standard you'd want at home. Great product however and I use mine a lot in the summer when outside.

Sound level is perceived logarithmically - 25 watts does not sound ten times as loud as 2.5 watts.

Gone up again now.
#38
great speakers,average price
I got mine from play for £12.99 about a year ago
worth every penny though
#39
