Probably the best price I've seen 'em - these speakers are incredible for their price and size, just the thing for playing music from your iPod or phone when out and about. You can even link them up for more power. My favourite usage is to play music while I'm in the shower :)

Good timing and nice find OP!

They were £13.99 at the weekend =)

Brilliant speaker, just got one from Singapore for £15....highly highly recommended!
#3
Mate had one of these, the batteries lasted ages and the sound from such a small speaker was awesome, voted hot :D
#4
Brilliant speakers - much better sound than you'd think possible from such a small speaker. 360 degree sound makes a lot of difference too - great.
#5
thanks bought one

Finally taken the plunge and bought one. Hope I won't be disappointed!

Would one of these be an improvement over bog standard built-in laptop speakers?

Excellent piece of kit and yeah, the battery lasts for ages.

Memorybits have a capsule speaker for 6.99, looks the same as this - any big difference? Think I have a 20% code for there so will prob get that one

I'd say they are probably not the thing for playing music from when you are out and about - that's what headphones are for.

Great price though, hot!
#13
Same price on Amazon if you prefer. Of course, you would then miss out on quidco.

looked at that myself(received email from them advertising it) i imagine it is a cheap(er) copy of this, would be interesting if it is anywhere near as good

I use one of these to listen to my favourite drum and bass tracks while travelling on public transport!

But yeah, the sound quality is brilliant - though I have two (don't ask why) and one's build quality is slightly less impressive than the other. Still sounds great though!
#16
Thanks!

Same price on Amazon :) thanks

That one is described as "X Mini II", the Play one as "X Mini II 2nd Generation" - does anyone know if the "2nd Generation" bit is significant? Looks exactly the same and the spec appears identical.

Got one and it's great. Just bought another as a present. Thanks OP.

Please tell me that is a joke...

It was. But if I did do that, then people would definitely not be annoyed, but simply comment on how good the sound quality was.

I've got this last year and its awsome ;)

I hope for your sake that I never sit near you while your using that on public transport, im likely to shove it down your throat.

same price on Amazon (same item I'm hoping): http://www.amazon.co.uk/XMI-X-mini-II-Mini-Speaker/dp/B001UEBN42/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1291638650&sr=1-3
I've had a bungled delivery in the past from play.com, they did refund but took a while. However you do get quidco.

May be a silly question but what about stereo,if I buy 2 will it be true stereo sound?

Not unless you wired on your own 3.5mm jack

If your not sure what your doing or are rubbish at soldering then you can buy 2x of these:

http://****.co.uk/3-5mm-Jack-Socket-Stereo-RCA-Phono-Plug-Adaptor-/250738008710?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3a61266286

and then connect them into one of these that is plugged into your mp3 device:

That will then allow you to have true Stereo when using two of these speakers.

These are fantastic - I just bought another as this is the cheapest I have ever seen them. I have bought at least 6 of these in the last year or two, and given them as presents. Everyone is blown away with them.

I have read a lot of comments on Amazon about this product and some people say that it is ****; apparently the build quality was poor and sound was rubbish. Some later comments stated that they must have been 1st gen and that the problems were sorted on the 2nd gen.

I have just ordered one myself so fingers crossed!

Would it work on my PC? I dont have any speakers on my PC and I've been looking to get some good, but cheap, speakers that will "do the job". Not wanting anything amazing..
#35
Cheers OP, had my eye on this for a little bit, but questioned whether i really needed it.
Figure i'll take the plunge at this price.
#37
Ordered, thanks op. Had been watching the price of this thing over the last few weeks, going from 13.99 to 12.99 then to 11.99 last week, didn't think it would get cheaper, thanks for the heads up! Should be nice in the gym when I can't be assed wearing headphones.
#38
These are ace! Use one for festivals, well worth the money.
#39
I'm sure the sound is decent for a tiny speaker but I seriously doubt it is amazing.
