Great price for the latest generation of x mini speakers, near £20 in most other retailers..

X Mini Uno Portable Speaker Green

• Special ceramic drivers pumping out crystal clear audio
• Battery life up to 20 hours for non-stop portable fun
• Compatible with Smartphones, tablets, multi-media devices and more
• Bass Xpansion System (BXS) mimics the effects of a sub-woofer for deeper fuller bass in a tiny capsule
• Buddy-Jack function to join multiple XMI Capsule Speakers creating your own speaker system

The UNO is the first of the X-Mini Capsule Speaker series to feature new ceramic drivers which deliver clearer and crisper sounds than ever before.

The UNO raises all the outstanding features of the award -winning X-mini Capsule Speaker range but ups the ante by offering sound quality that no other portable speaker can.

The UNO has a patented extendable vacuum that mimics the resonance of a sub-woofer (Bass Xpansion System) capable of producing explosive volume and bass over ten times its physical size.

With the modular Buddy-Jack design you can connect a row of Unos for jaw dropping audio, capable of forming an almost endless daisy chain of self-powered, bass-enhanced portable speaker system.

To eliminate cumbersome audio cables dangling from the speaker, XMI has designed a connecting audio cable that can be tucked neatly into the base for a cleaner and sleeker look; whilst the high capacity rechargeable battery capable offers sustained output for up to 20 hours.

The UNO is revolutionary in the world of portable audio technology, striking the perfect balance of pocketsize portability and uncompromising sound quality.

Second generation is available here @£8.99 including p&p, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-BLACK-XMI-XMINI-X-MINI-II-2-2G-CAPSULE-PORTABLE-SPEAKER-fast-dispatch-/251602172804 seller also accepting offers so may get a bit cheaper. I purchased one from this seller and it arrived today, great speaker but I could not resist the maplin one also as it has longer run time and ceramic speaker for improved sound.

Why is it getting voted cold? if cheaper elsewhere can you post link please. It was people voting cold that made everyone miss the frillo deal which should have been the hottest deal this year, http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/various-office-stationery-from-3p-ex-vat-free-delivery-bizfreedel-frillo-1948979#comments
I got all this stationary for less than £12, The papermate black box of 60 pens were 8p a box, there was more but I already gave some away to family and friends. Do people just vote cold to try and hog stock for themselves?

Was it still sealed, A few weeks ago I reserved a brother printer in maplin, but when I went to collect it had clearly been removed from its packaging, I was not taking the chance incase it was a customer return....

Collected mine this morning and so far am very happy with it; good for a tenner but think the x-minis are overpriced generally. It has a nicer tone and depth than the x-mini II I have (having said that I got that one on ebay from Hong Kong and was never sure it was the real deal as I was a bit underwhelmed with it). The colour is also better than the pic. It is quite noticably heavier than the x-mini II.

As far as the box is concerned, it did come with a seal but looked like it had a white tag that had been torn off the top (may have just been a reservation sticker). The box looked slightly tatty, but I dont get the impression it was a return. Inside everything is pristine and as it should be.
Anyway, hope you like yours OP. Thanks for the headsup. (_;)

Whilst looking at reviews for the Uno, I came across one or two comments suggesting it is best to leave the speaker 'open' when not in use and not leave it closed for too long a time as they say the springy part can lose it's spring over time and not open up properly. Don't know if that is true but the bag that comes with it is certainly big enough to hold it even in the open position - though obviously best to close it up when travelling with it. Doesn't say anything about that in the tiny -weeny -miniscule- impossible- to -read- without -a -magnifying glass-instruction 'booklet', (as far as I can see anyway!) :p

Is there none in your nearest store for reserve and collect??
#24
Just went to collect mine and as usual it the seal was open and the contents not very well repackaged, was not taking the chance that it may be a customer return, the trouble is if it is not fully charged the first few uses you lose a lot of the battery capacity, have reserved one at another store but can not get there till Sunday. the problem is if you ask the staff why the packaging is already open the staff always give the same answer "removed to show customer" there never going to tell you if it is a customer return. Thinking now that maybe I should have asked if I could have had it in one of the other colour options, although they are still priced @£30 so they probably would have refused....

Hi, Powyswales, wonder if you managed to get your replacement?
As I was very happy with my first purchase I managed to reserve another one. This time the seal was broken. The assistant didnt have any explanation as to why, just that it was on offer. Took a chance as I knew I could return it. There was a slight scratch/flaw on the bottom I noticed when I got home, otherwise, pristine and so far has clocked up well over 17hrs on full volume, so am more than happy :D
Anyway, hope you managed to get one, cos they are great little speakers. Thanks once again for the heads up.:D

Managed to get one from the Gateshead Metrocentre store yesterday. Showed OOS all week there until yesterday, so worth checking stock in stores again as maybe people who reserved them initially changed their minds. :)
