They are mad at you for teasing them!:p

Is this one an improvement on the X Rocker Pro 2009?

Boyfriend bought that from Argos a couple of months ago and it never worked properly to begin with, got it working after fighting with it all day and then it went kaput about 30 mins later so it got promptly returned to Argos! I know he'd still love to get one and his birthday's coming up but worried this one will be the same sort of hassle! Can't find much info/reviews on it either apart from Tesco. Anyone got one?
#8
Info hard to find as mentioned (It's not even on the X Rocker website!) so a couple of quick questions. Is this on a tilt/swivel pedestal like the Pro? Picture suggests it is but could be a rubbish cropped image! Do the arms tilt back out the way too?

Thanks.

PS Noticed this was -25 degrees here last month when £139. Tough crowd or a bad product?
#9
Yeah I'd be interested to know how good these are too. In fact I wonder how this would look in my home office I might be able to play my iPod through it whilst working - sweet! :-)
#10
How far is the seat from the ground ? Can you use it to sit at a standard size desk?

Coooooool

Compatible with PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles in standard definition mode only (A/V connections, not HDMI).
#12
What does it mean by with or without wireless? Does this mean it supports wireless audio streaming? Still looks good, but have enough wireless laying all over the place.
#13
Modmedia
CooooooolCompatible with PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles in standard definition mode only (A/V connections, not HDMI).

You'll have to set the audio to come out through the AV cable provided with the PS3 (which gets connected to the chair) and set the image to display through the HDMI cable onto your TV.
#14
seems like a nice chair, hot
#15
Is it just me that doesn't get what the point of these really is?

Does sitting on a seemingly uncomfy plasticky chair that vibrates a lot really make any difference? :)
#16
thanks :)

Zedai

An interesting post from you. Are you saying that HDMI can be supported using this method?
Still trying to convince the future wife that we have room for this chair (which we dont as Beatles Rockband took the last of it) but the non HDMI really puts me off. Can anyone who owns any gaming chair comment on how good they really are? Comfort wise etc?

thank you

I have the ultimate gaming chair v3 and if this chair is anything like that then it is awesome it really helps get you into the gaming mood and makes all warfare games awesome however the only downside is that once you sit down and get sucked into a game it may be hours before you get off it again.

I bought my teenage son a gaming chair for Christmas (£70 from Argos). He has it in his bedroom and uses it for just about everything, listening to his ipod, using his laptop, watching TV/DVDs and playing video games. The sound quality is better than anything his TV, laptop and Nintendo DS can produce. Comfort wise, it's better than I expected for a gaming chair in this price range. No sore bums/backs after extended use. I'm sure my son would comfortably sleep in it, if I let him.

It's a bit pointless if it only supports standard AV connections and you can't play in HD

Boyfriend bought the X Rocker Pro 2009 from Argos a few months ago and it was a pile of crap! Originally never worked, fiddled about with it and finally got it working only for one speaker to stop working. Phoned the manufacturers and they said they would send out a replacement kit to fix the speaker ourselves (bearing in mind we'd bought it that day), not long after the phone call the whole thing went kaput and we returned it to Argos the next day!

Just don't want to buy this one if it's gonna be the same situation! Can't find any reviews or anything about this model online but the 2009 version seemed to have alot of common faults.
#28
I'm with you actually. I'm puzzled as to why I can't find any reviews or even setup manuals for this particular model online anywhere. Anyone any ideas?

Was nearly buying the 2009 pro model from Argos myself yesterday, but it has gone up in price now with the VAT increase - which makes it even more steep considering it was on offer at £129 a couple of months ago.

Yes we actually bought it for £199! Boyfriend really liked it and wanted an exchange but after reading the horror stories online of problems with it I finally persuaded him to get a refund. I know he'd still really like one but I don't know if I want to risk it. Especially as these things aren't light, they're quite heavy to carry and returning the Argos one was a pain that I don't fancy repeating with Tesco!

Do you know if you can play the Xbox 360 / PS3 in HD with this?

That's not the same chair is it mate? The one your link points to is a leather effect chair. The one on sale at Tesco looks fabric? confused!

Great stuff just ordered :-)
#35
I don't think I'm going to bother.

I think I prefer the discreet theming of the Pro chairs than the ones with X-Rocker or Vision plastered over the front of it
#36
I've caved in and ordered myself one.

Will pick it up on Thursday or Friday evening, so will also answer any questions you may have on it.

I'm still holding out! If I'm being really honest, boyfriend's birthday is next week and it'd probably be perfect for it! However, we set each other a budget for birthday's, Christmas etc. and I've already bought him a few things that buying this would now go way over budget! If I'd seen it before I started buying other things I'd most likely have snapped it up as soon as I saw it!

Let us know what you think!

Just to let you guys know a few things...

Firstly the arm rests do move up and down.
The chair does tilt back and forth.
On the photo where it states "Vision", on the chair it actually says "X Rocker"
On the photo where it states "X Rocker", on the chair there is no writing, just the padding

Speakers are on top of the chair next to the head rest

Very easy set up... I found the instructions after i'd set it up.

Unfortunately I havent had time to check the sound/vibration out. ran out of time.. Off to work

Can you let us know when you've checked out the sound, please? Speaker fault was the problems we had with the last one.

Also, did it come with the pedestal included? Yeah?

Thanks!
