Weird I was just about to post this. Oh well looks like a good price for one of these micro helicopters.

Pump up the heat.

Would be interested to here a few more reviews (such as battery life), Before I part with my cash.
#3
Thanks, I have been waiting for the price of these to come down from £30 on Firebox, voted hot.
#4
Saw this earlier today but didn't even think of posting here about it, sorry :(

But yea this is an awesome deal considering many thought play's previous price was good at £17, nearly half price of firebox. Voted hot.

Those that think its not that great, remember Christmas is only 213 days away and those stockings need filling ;)

have got 2 blue but could not fly them at the same time becusea of the same frequency- now ordered this so let the duel begin.
ps they do work but are a bit tricky to control-use in a large room or outside on a clam day but don't let it fly away out of range!!!
great value -thanks for the post.:-D

I had one and I personally found it a waste of money, only can be used outside on a non windy day...not many of those. Even when inside flying is a bit...boring, it just goes up and down or spins on the spot, you can put weight on the front but then it just circles.
Plus battery life if awful, you keep having to charge it up and that takes a few minutes.

You need to read your instructions more carefully! It does more than circle! Battery life is acceptable too.

Great price for this, nice find claire  Looks like this could be a hit for Fathers day!

if it weren't only 2 channel i'd jump on this. i'd prefer 3 channel control :)
#10
Waiting for delivery of stock so could be a wait. The blue and red versions of this are in stock but they cost £24.99.
#11
I have one of these, didnt really use it too much as its very had to control, even indoors
#12
Had one of these for xmas, purchased from firebox. one of the best pressies i had, great for annoying people and with little practice able to fly anywhere indoors, top tip is to put a drawing pin in the nose to gain inproved forward flight and better controll, top deal at this price

This really is a good deal. The helicopter is one of the genuine "Picoo (or Picco) - Z" micro helicopters, not the poorly-flying cheapy version that Play.com sell for £17.99.

I got one for Christmas and it's great fun - trying to fly it round the Christmas tree and other tall obstacles made the fun last longer! It's the sort of toy that you might play with for an hour or so and then get bored with....but then you'll be wanting to play with it again the next day! The novelty of it being soooo tiny and yet flying like a real helicopter really doesn't wear off.

They are slightly fragile though - my brother crashed his into the wall numerous times (quite easily done), but on the 30th crash or so, it started spinning uncontrollably. Mine still works fine though (and it's had plenty of crunches too - it keeps coming back for more!) - maybe my bro was just unlucky.

The battery lasts for about 10 minutes. You plug the helicopter into the controller (which takes 4 AA batteries) to charge it up, which takes around 20 minutes. I'd certainly consider getting another one - flying them at the same time is great fun! Although for ultimate micro helicopter fun, this is going on my Christmas list this year:
http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/3349070/Sky-Challenger/Product.html

It's just so much more fun when you have a reason to be flying round the living room...

Be VERY careful if you put a pin in the nose of these, that's were the battery is.
Much better to use the supplied silver tabs or blu-tack if you need more weight.

Great deal! Voted hot:thumbsup:

Nope, that ebuyer helicopter is the cheap, poorly-flying rip-off version I mentioned earlier. If you want a mini helicopter that flies well, make sure it's called "X-rotor", "Picco-Z" or "Picoo-Z". Anything else is just cheap tat (in my experience). ;-)

Play.com strike again....Price has gone back up to 24.99!!

Thanks Jelli, marked expired.

Thanks for the confirmation Rufus.
#26
seems like forever waiting for this little beauty!, how long before they get them in stock? is there anyway of telling, i looked for an email page and couldn't find one, i finished all my exams and want my helicopter now!!
#27
The daft thing is they have them in red and blue in stock, and i dont give a stuff what colour mine is, but if i emailed them asking if they would just send me an identical heli, just in a different colour, i bet they would say "no".
#28
I to want my helicopter, come on Play....next best deal is Tesco 19.99 and you can collect from some stores after 4pm on thursday or get it delivered for free using the code from HUKD...I might go for this...and if play send it just return it to Tesco, as long as its yellow...

Toysrus are showing 19.99 but not sure if its an instore deal..will check soon.
#29
I can confirm Toysrus are selling instore @ 19.99

Careful, i had one from eBay, twas a cheap clone, wouldnt fly very well at all. Buy the genuine thing, even if it costs 2x as much.
#32
Now says "due for release on 15/06."
#33
Well low and behold Play are once again "Waiting for stock" and my status has change to "Order Taken". Anyone got any ideas with regard to contacting Play-i would be happy with a different coloured 'copter really. I cant see as they are doing this to stop us from getting them at the low price, dont Play usually just send an apology email instead of all this faffing about?
banned#34
Just off phone to Play and they have no idea when it will be dispatched.
I asked if they could send me a blue 1 instead but they said I'd need to re-order it for £24.99 instead of the £12.99 I ordered the yellow 1 for.

Useless
#35
I'm annoyed by this, if thety arent going to hour the price then why not just say that? If they are, then surely if they believe in customer satisfaction they would just ship a blue/red if we asked? It cant make any difference to them, surely?

Anyone any ideas-mass protest?
#36
wooo hoo just got an email this morning saying your item has been posted!, finally gonna get it! brilliant, although it stilll says waiting for delivary of stock on plays page

hope everyone is getting the posted email too, can finally get exited about it!

I am pretty sure Tesco direct have them...

Tell a lie, just checked and they are not on there any more. I will have a quick search around for you. I want one of these as well.
