ie. fell off the back of a lorry

Well it said 328 in stock at moment I looked, so would have had to be a very complex fall from the lorry to generate the damage.

Guess at that price they don't feel the need to explain what the error is - eg glue in wrong places; overlong screws cutting through from back; scratched; upside down; wrong stencil; whatever ??? ..

i've ordered a few bits off of bigpockets before and they have always been pretty good with returning items, for 15.00 you got yourself a divx player which i thought was a good deal.
#4
Recently got a divx player with usb flash drive support, which was the one of my best buying decisions of last year. For me that feature is key (because I can't be bothered burning discs)
#5
ps3 now plays divx too :) voted hot tho

A £20 second hand softmodded xbox is a lot better buy IMO (assuming Game are still doing them) but cheers for deal either way.
#7
Brilliant deal, particularly with DivX - just ordered 2.

Thanks

Isn't it though. They's affecting my human rights or something.
A USB port and a HDMI output with upscaling now means I could watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles if I was to be very bad and download them (which obviously I would never do as it's illegal and I would wait until they were on TV in the UK, exactly as I did with Heroes seasons 1 & 2).

i bought one simillar to that last year from bigpockets the player works well and plays most of the disc's that i have put in and the ones that have not worked i probably burnt them wrong,
the only problem that i have found with my player is that it is a bit noisy when it plays a disc and some are more noisy than others
the player that i have is the X-WAVE 1122 silver colour
#12
thanks

i bought 2, 1 for myself and 1 for my son as he messed his other dvd player up and now it jutters and stutters the dvd's so he will be pleased he can watch his dvd's again.
#13
basically a crock of old shi*e then from the reviews, hence the price!

glad I've got my Pioneer DV600-AV with it's USB input and not having to record on to discs anymore :)

I would disagree for playing dvd's as depending on which dvd drive is installed they can be very picky about reading burnt dvd's. But as the xmbc and streaming across the network it is the dogs danglies.

I doubt game will see em already softmodded but there are plenty of websites that can tell you how to do them. Not sure if I can post links though so just google em up

You cant really compare this to a xbox as they have nothing in common and are 2 totally different products so why xbox was compared to this is beyond me.

firstly £20 for the xbox and then the money to get it softmodded or get someone to do it so really £40 the divx is a good buy at £15 id rather have the xbox as its able to stream downloaded content but not everyone knows how to get the media or use it so £15 all in is good also without the connection pack theres no 5.1 out of the xbox either also no warranty when modded unless you have the game and memory card to reverse the soft mod and the know how.

Please dont think that its somthing easy or for the faint hearted modding a console it takes a little bit of know how and a understanding of the console there are plenty of tutorials that can explain how its done and what you will need you can easily break the console if you do the mod wrong and not back up your eeprom. You can also stick a massive hard drive inside and play game from the hard drive what you have FTPed over the network ive had my xbox for years and would never sell it even though i have the 360 as the orginal xbox is so much more that just a games machine.
#19
Whats really scary is you talk about how cheap this is but in reality probably £8 of the price is going to pay for DVD and DivX licensing and various other royalties you gotta pay to manufacture this technology.
#20
Would I be able to route my freeview box through this via scart so that I can connect it to a monitor with component? So I can have freeview and play dvds on my monitor?

You're totally right, you can't compare the xbox as a media centre to this as it's 50x better.

If "not everyone knows how to get the media or use it" then what's the use of a dvd player capable of playing divx? There has been deals of plain dvd players for less than a tenner quite a while ago.

Anyone not capable of softmodding an xbox by following one of the millions of guides for dummys shouldn't be allowed out on their own.

Can't say I've had that problem welshblob with the dvd drive so guess I was lucky.

Just thought I'd mention...

If you add the following item to your order aswell as the DVD player, then you get free delivery for both the items!!

The xbox makes a good media player but still is as ugly as sin.

Then you need to factor in the need of a second hand game to mod it, then action replay or such like to do the mod with memory card. If you want to stream movies to the xbox there is further expense with a wireless adapter on the xbox.

What is required is a cheapo dvd player or pvr that accepts input through usb so you can play movies through a pen drive or portable 2.5h/disk? I find this option would be more pleasing than the xbox option as its not the quitest of machines and yes i do have one.

For a divx player this is cheap as chips, mine was £40 a couple of years back, so hot it is ;-)

No problem.

If I've helped just one person, then it was all worth while

What did you add to the order to get free delivery ?. Your link goes to a £1200 chair. I've tried adding the 0.99p CD cases to take it over £10 and the delivery is still listed at the check-out.

Cheers.

you need to edit your link as it has your session ID in it.

Basicly, whoever clicks the link can see everything in your basket

The game ones are NOT modded mate

you have to mod it your self

its called a soft mod cos you dont have to open the xbox up to install a mod inside it (solder)

you soft mod it with software.

theres plenty of guides around, google "soft mod"

good luck

toshiba do an ace multiregion divx player for £27.99 on amazon
plays everything like heroes, sarah conner, all regions
brand name too

I'm wondering about this divx playback. I bought a divx capable player from SVP and it doesn't play the vids in widescreen because it doesn't like the resolution of certain tv vids I've downloaded. Anyway, this player, does it playback divx shows in full widescreen?

Thanks!

Firstly, does it have a USB port? Secondly, I doubt it plays all formats so making sweeping statements such as "plays everything like heroes, sarah conner, all regions " does no one any favours, try stating what formats it does play i.e. VDC, SVCD, Mpg, WAV, DIVX, etc.
