"This is the ultimate throwing contraption! If you love frisbees but fancy a change then this is just your thing. The X-zyLo craze has swept the US by storm and has crossed the waters just in time for this summer. Throw it fast and low and watch it spin rapidly through the air creating its own lift as it spins. Keep practicing and you should be able to throw it over 100 yards! Then try to beat the record of 600 feet!"

Here is a youtube video of the thing flying...

lol @ amazes NASA Technology experts!
#4
yeh but NASA 'experts' sent shuttles in to the sky with known design problems, and spent millions creating a space pen rather than taking a pencil ;-)
#5
mind you, the space pen / chinagraph is an urban myth.
#6
space pen / chinagraph ??????

Space pen - the whole idea that NASA developed a pen that would work in zero gravity (upside down on earth is another use), but that it turned out that 1/ the russians used pencils and 2/ the pen wasn't needed.

On the other hand - this throwing thing - couldn't get it to go as far as a frisbee myself. Eventually cracked it on a bad landing.

That advert was so American i wanted to cry!

A massive £0.99 off the RRP.

Still, it got me interested in seeing it in action

I have got to admit, i got one of these off ebay a while back now, and they're are the Bees Knees !

They really do go far! And far meaning 'far' lol :)

Its not that hard to throw it in a straight line either :D

It doesn't half take it out on your arms after a while lol

mm intresting. so if you manage to throw it perfectly it means you probably will lose it.

dose not seem in any way you can control this item. but looks cool.

Spending a few quid on a toy only to lose it.

Just to clear up the space pen myth, check out wikipedia under the heading "Uses in the U.S. and Russian space programs":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Pen

If you can't be bothered to check then the quick answer is that the myth is not true.
