Also... If you search for patch lead 10 you will see red and blue both 1.0m and 2.0m are on great offers. Red 1.0m are 99p!!

Hot.

The ones I mention are packs of 10 ;-)

How much do these normally cost?

Bargain! As patch leads the photos show them as 'unhooded' meaning that the small clip that keeps the jack secure in the socket is vulnerable to being snagged & snapping off - but when used as on-going permanent patch leads rather than swap in/out leads that isn't going to be an issue at all.

This is the sort of pack that's ideal 'behind the scenes' (hence the bright colours won't matter) with a HUKD 5/8 port Gigabit switch behind your TV/PVR/Bluray etc boxes to wire them all together into your home LAN.

Thanks was looking for these. Bought the 2m ones @£3.52 for 10.
#8
Now slightly higher price at £2.34
Bought nonetheless and some heat
The red ones are still cheaper but not available near me
#9
are these normal ethernet cables?
#10
The prices are the same as they were before, it's 99p for 1m red and £2.34 for 2m blue.

From the images they are Cat 5e so are perfect for home gigabit networks.
#11
if they are not 5e or 6 then i wouldnt bother.

No, but I know a bargain when I see one!

If you're questioning my Cat 5e comment, zoom in on the pictures and you can see it printed on them.

My bad, meant to say 1m for both.
#19
I'd assume they are standard ethernet cables but the 'patch' part of the name is due to them being shorter cables and generally used to patch connections in a network environment, e.g. switch panel to switch panel or switch panel to server, where long connections may not be required.
#20
Good spot, picking some up tomorrow.
#21
Fantastic... ordered to replace a bunch of unnecessarily long 1.8-2m cables that seem to always come bundled with things.

Cheers OP

Cheers OP.
£5.50 for 20x 1m red and 10x 2m blue.

Probably never gonna have to buy another one (unless cat6 is required).

At lengths of 1-2m, you'll probably find that even Cat5e can manage 10Gb speeds, meaning these should last a good long time.

Ruddy hell? .. that be HOT OP ..... thanx lol. :-)

Is it an Ethernet cable??

I refer you to this article
http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f136/solved-patch-vs-ethernet-cable-587268.html

Effectively, they are the same thing. There are small technical differences, but often the two are mislabeled as each other and for a normal home network they will do the same job.

Price has gone up to £2.34.

No, only when used in a cabinet, different colours can be used to show different services.
ie you can use red for phones, blue for data, yellow for outside telephone lines, etc. Just keeps it all tidy and shows what is what.

At home it means nothing.

i love a good wired network at home, wireless is good but in my early 1900's house with thick walls the signal only goes so far, run wires and have 2/3 switches and its flawless

Bargain, Thanks OP, was about to buy a bunch of cables on ebay until I happened to glance at HUKD... Now I can get 10 cable for the price of one ebay one...
#37
nice one!
#38
Even if these are CCA and not proper Copper, this is HOT. The RJ45 connectors alone would usually cost more than 99p.
#39
bargain heat added

50 (500) ordered for collection tomorrow (donated the 50p too as such a good deal). Quite happy with a 1m cable for 10p each, should last me 7ish months...
