Thanks for the heads up, voted hot.
#2
Been waiting for Vandal Hearts for ages.

Thanks.
#3
not bad
#4
not great either. they had 2 good weeks in a row with kingdom of keflings and magic the gathering. its back to stuff noone wants.
#5
Slightly off topic, but can I ask does anyone know anywhere that lists the PS3's PSN weekly special offer deals in advance?
#6
Does anyone actually buy the games on demand?
#7
Why would anyone buy one of the xbox games on demand? £20 for a £10 game that takes up a lot of hard drive space.

No-one wants Portal? I beg to differ. The Orange Box is one hell of a popular game, and still fairly high priced to this day.
#9
everyone buy portal and thank me later
#10
How much is GRAW2 if it's on offer?
#11
forza 3 dlc is out today also
#12
I'm gonna grab the Mass Effect DLC in time to play through it before ME2 hits the shelves. Really looking forward to that.

Portal is also a lot of fun, but if you have Steam you can get it cheaper through that and have much better control and precision with a mouse. This comes from someone who is more than happy to play it with a pad, but if you attempt the Gold time challenges you will understand the frustration that comes from not placing portals precisely and rapidly.

Better still just buy The Orange Box. Compared to the cost of 800MS you will get Portal and so much more. Whatever the price you can find it for, TOB is one of the best value games you can buy.

portal dlc has extra content than the portal in orange box, but good tip tho if u can buy orange box for under a tenner

anyone know how long the offers last for?
#15
Would be tempted by Portal, but i think theres only a few extra levels more than whats on The Orange Box disc, so even at 800 points its hard to justify. I might possibly go for Serious Sam HD though (even though its 1200 points :().

To be honest, I don't really see any good deals here. The Live marketplace is expensive, though of course I have no other choice. If you want Portal, get The Orange Box which is sometimes cheaper than the cost of Still Alive alone, and you get it on a physical medium rather than just a download. I know Still Alive is a different game essentially (or so I hear), but if you aren't too familiar with Half-Life, get The Orange Box first. Same goes with downloads of retail games in terms of "how" you get it. There's really no point if you can get it on a disc for 1/3 of the price. Arcade downloads, obviously understandable. Retail downloads, just a way to combat the second hand market, which is a significant problem for the games industry.

The only game I saw there that piqued my curiosity is Serious Sam, even if it's rather expensive. Not a deal by any means. I won't vote cold, but I won't give this heat either.

How many points will dead rising be?

It will likely be the standard £19.99 like so many Games On Demand.

And just like every other Games On Demand game, it will be FAR cheaper to buy the disk version. Why they keep thinking they can charge these sort of prices for games that have been out for years is beyond me. Heck with my download speed it's faster AND cheaper to drive to town and buy the game than it would be to download it!

Serious Sam HD has been out on PC for a while and its not that great, good for a blast, was up on Steam at the weekend for £6.60 odds also.

The rest I am not looking forward to that much, I think i'm getting bored of my 360 now, the majority of the titles are the same recycled rubbish I have been playing for almost 30 years ! There are the odd occasional good ones, but I think gaming may have hit its ceiling with todays technology, graphics may get better, but the same repetitive gameplay will stay, anyone who says COD 6 is any better or diffferent than COD 2 is really fooling themselves.

As for the games on demand, you would have to be very drunk or very fat, so fat you cant physically move to take "advantage" of their service. £10 I may buy one if I was bored *and thats still expensive* , but not twice that !

I have recently purchased another Gaming PC after being out of the PC gaming world for some years in the hope of finding something new thats exciting, and even iff I dont find that , by the time I have played all the games I bought on steam for £2 each there may well be new technology out ! lol

*gets off soap box*

If you've not got portal, or the orange box. Grab it!

Not sure I agree with you completely as COD 6 is definitely quite a bit different to COD 2 if you compare the multiplayer modes rather than just singleplayer but you have a point in many other ways. Personally I've been having a lot more fun with smaller downloadable games recently which seem much more likely to offer something new and different, regardless of whether you buy them on the 360, other consoles or the PC.

There are still some great games coming out sometimes though. Batman Arkham Asylum for instance didn't do anything particularly new but it did what it did very, very well and definitely offered a great experience to me and I've also been gaming for over 20 years.
#23
Thanks, Might have to get my self the mass effect DLC and have another play through ready for number 2.
#24
I don't like these January releases. Prices are far too high. As for the Portal Still Alive, as someone said before me, for a few new maps it's not worth the price in MS points, especially when the whole Orange Box can be purchased for around £12.

I'll save my money awaiting for Portal 2. As for the other titles... mah, totally uninterested!

thats what i was trying to get at. if you have the orange box, there is no point getting portal. the orange box you can pick up second hand (and possibly new) for under a tenner.

If they did On Demand games Deal of the Week and do a 50% off for a week then it might interest me but at £20 is too steep. It also doesnt help that the hard drive is still woefully too small. Its like giving you a sweetie shop and telling you to put as much sweets as you want into a smartie tube.
#27
portal is one of the best games and worth downloading even if its just so you dont have to get up and change the disk!
#28
cheers will download the mass effect download for my second play through:thumbsup:

Not sure if the differences are that vast, but I agree there are some good additions, Batman definitely was a bit of a sleeper hit for me, didnt fancy it at all until I played the demo, then spent a good weekend 100 % ing it.

Know what you mean about downloadable stuff, it all started with shadow complex with me, didnt think much of it when it came out, then bought it, left it for a while, picked it back up and couldnt put it down ! since then been looking for similar things, Trine on the PS3 is very good also. Roll on more of these games, and nice to see its not just me thats feeling this way

Don't buy it yet! The Xbox Community Manager for Europe is saying it's gonna be 400 points on his twitter feed : http://twitter.com/AceyBongos/status/8200989416

Edit - forget that... he got it wrong, it's definitely 800 points:
