I went to my local Sainsbury's (Wandsworth) and bought this pack for £25. Strangely the 20GB HDDs without the cable were still £30 on the same shelve!! Think this is a good deal because Argos is still selling the hard drive alone at £34.99 as mentioned in the previous post - http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/xbox-360-120gb-hard-drive-slim-ebay-argos-34-99/851081.

This'll be good to crack open and install in my new 360, should M&S deliver.

This'll be the old style hard drive and won't fit the new slim xbox if that's what your thinking of doing

You just take the drive out of the old xbox housing and push it the expansion HDD port of the new 4gb slim.

It has all the xbox signatures and file system on and works fine.

Yeah but it's possible to open up the enclosure to fit the hard drive into the slim.

If anyone gets two could they sell one to me at cost + postage?

The nearest sainsburys to me is a good five miles away =/

Now everyone here just wants to line their own pockets, not help others :(

If I find any in my local I grab a couple for who ever wants one.
#13
I just put a 120gb drive in my 4gb slim today. This is a great deal especially for anyone who got the slim for xmas.

I would love one, but the deals sell out in London instantly (if they ever get them!).

Will have to try my step mums store and see if she can get one! Will let people know if she can.

None in my local store (Ashford, Kent)
#20
Is this actually nationwide? I don't think so, none in my local...
#21
has anyone else apart from the op confirmed this as if not this really isnt a deal were only 1 person can get it??
#22
None in North London. The guy in the big one at Green Lanes said they don't sell them anymore, so just clearing remaining stock I guess.

Shame, as I install all my games on my 360 and that's all I use the HDD for. My 320GB PS3 drive has barely been touched!

Maybe I'll just go with the Arogs one, as I've got my transfer kit from when I upgraded from 20GB to 60GB, and they were gratis!

Thanks I didn't know you could do that
#24
Sorry, noob question, but to use this for a 4gb xbox do you need to open your xbox up?
#25
dont get the cheap 250 gb xbox hds of ebay/amazon they look real but are fakes the only way you can tell is when you want to play a old xbox game or you buy certain games from marketplace.

i got slapped like this at the weekend i ordered one from ebay from a supposidly reputable games store the drive arrived within 2 days it looked real all the real packaging then i bought crash bandicoot and a few other games from the xbox marketplace and they wont work because you need a real hard drive to make them run the real drives have a special partition already installed that contains the emulation software.

the 250gb drive works for saves and other stuff but ill need to buy a real one and redownload all my games i bought too run them so its gonna cost me more now :(

Sainsbury in London and Sainsbury elsewhere seem to be two totally different stores. With asda and tesco catering for the "all under one roof shop" outside london, Sainsbury are a poor third when it comes to entertainment anywhere north of watford.

No mate - no in the sense you mean. There is a removable cover on the HDD port on the 4gb slim to access the bay the drive is held in. You don't have to break any seals etc. If you go on youtube there's plenty guides to show you how. Also you don't need to break the drive open if you have a Torx screwdriver set. The outer case is held together by 4 screws (the 4th one is under the hologram sticker).

Read the opening paragraphs of the guide and nothing is said about a downside (there are some questions at the end) could doing this ban you from box live?

Doesn't look like it.

That's a lot of heat for someone on their 1st post... who was probably the only person who actually got the offer.... if they are telling the truth.

Listen to me, If you said my nearest sainsbury is 50 miles away I may even consider it. But it is 5 miles away. Do they not have buses where you live, Or like a previous poster suggested - ON YA BIKE!

Cheers, when the post said 'hard drive alone' I thought that meant no transfer kit. Just wondering, to transfer from a 60GB to 120GB old school 360, do you need the disc?

Can't resist popping in to check, just in case...

if I was to do that, would it invalidate my warranty?

I wouldn't need a 250gb, so would be looking @ 60gb max?

Would I still be able to play XBL?

Huh? You mean someone spends £25 of their own money on your say so you will pay?
And if 5 people come back tomorrow with one for you you'll buy tham all.
And no word of giving them some extra £££ for taking the risk , spending their own money and time packing and posting?

I think I know where the more selfish approach lives.
