they had them in stock in eastbourne

It was posted a while ago.

I was lucky to find one about a month and a half ago. Getting this disk at this price is one of the best way to upgrade an ARCADE to an ELITE like XBOX (but white).

If you already have a 20gb drive, the cheapest option is to buy a Western Digital 120GB 2.5" hard drive off ebuyer for about £30, and swap it over with the 20gb drive (taking the case apart etc).

Plenty of guides on the net how to do it :) Just a shame 120gb is the largest you can go! Especially with the feature of being able to copy an entire game disc to the HD in the 2008 fall release...

Considering that this HDD comes with the transfer cable which I seen some people buying them for £10 this makes it even better deal.

Great price....I'm tempted to do a botched job with a laptop drive though!

Sent you a PM fragaliciousbob, my local Comet is a complete joke with people reserving all their stock for staff who just chuck them up on eBay or sell them through other means and this looks like my best bet to get it pretty cheap. Bit late but a hot deal nonetheless.
#12
great deal, fantastic price, my comet had the 20gb in stock (displayed as £69.99, but when the woman checked the stock for the 120gb drive she seen the 20gb @ £19.99) but no 120gb :( sent u a PM fragaliciousbob regarding the 120gb drive

Cheers, Andy

I was in blockbuster in cardiff and they had the 120 gig xbox 360 hdd for £69.99, i know its £10 more but if you can't get a comet hdd then try blockbuster.
#22
Does anyone know the stock code for these so that I can ring up and check if local store has any in stock, that’s the hard drive not Gears 2?

Usual warnings apply: voids your warranty, may not work if you end up with the wrong drive version (though you can probably return it if you do), is detectable by MS and may lead to banning from XBL if they ever decide to get pissy about it. Not for internal use.

As far as I'm aware it's just a rumour that MS can detect the hddss.bin, I'm not saying they can't Im just saying I'm not aware, nor have heard anything about it being used as a banning tactic

To add to the usual warnings - you CAN'T copy your data across from 20GB unless you have an xsata or Memory unit, even if you use the latter some game saves are copy protected and you can't copy them between storage devices (i think this does not apply to those using the migration cable)

This DOES require you to have some technical knowledge as you must take apart the hdd case, attach it to your internal SATA and flash in DOS.

Cheapest WD BEVS drive I'm aware of is approx £40 delivered from ebuyer, so weigh up if it's worth the £20
#25
Its worth the extra £20 and just get the 120GB HD with the transfer kit, gonna check my local comets! cheers

do it m8 if thats ok

A better deal then the 60GB one but it's finding stock that's the problem !. I checked my local this morning but had no luck. Tried Blockbuster aswell but didn't have any luck there either.

Guess the amazon deal will have to do !

Of course if anyone finds any stock and is willing to post them on I'd be a happy customer !
#29
Does anyone know where I can find a guide to get the ebuyer hard drive working on my xbox 360?

Is it easy?
#30
BTW it is not on the website so how do you know if it is in the nearest store near you without going down there?

Mine is about 11 miles away wasted journey if they don't have it. I don't even see any xbox hard drive on their website.
#31
i needed one desperatly....checked the 2 local comet stores and nothin...then someone said blockbuster got a few...so tried there, only 1 in stock and was £69.99 so i decided to buy it...got it connect to my xbox 360 and transfering the 20gb data onto the new 120gb...

so not gutted anymore, thanks to the peson who said check blockbusters

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be able to MS has complete control over your 360's software and hardware reading the serials from the installed hardware should not pose a problem. I wouldn't think about trying it out until the next update.

As you say if you are lucky enough to get one at this bargain price the whole exercise would be pointless anyway :P

That looks fairly simple.

Do you happen to know if all of those 360 drive enclosures are the same? (i.e 20gb/60gb and 120gb the same)

Right now I don't have a drive but to get that drive working I will need a xbox 360 enclosure won't I?
Just the casing?

You will also be able to get the data migration kit too, and you can sell this on ebay!
