Is it possible to make your own - of course by getting hold of the correct bare drive?

I just watched the How To Open Xbox 360 HDD/Hard Drive on YouTube, I didn't post a direct link as I haven't read the posting rules. Watching the video (albeit with the sound off) it appears to be just a standard 2.5 inch IDE drive.

If thats the case then I can't see why putting your own drive into the case wouldn't work although it's bound to need something else put on it after formatting so that the 360 can read from it.

edit: Good price by the way, most places are still charging well over £100 for this.

heat added, cold voters are probably PS3 owners who'll try and argue that black is white, and that you can buy an internal SATA drive for less

got mine from HMV for £27 but I doubt they'll be doing that again any time soon

Didn't this would be voted cold really. At least a few people have took advantage and got themselves a good deal.

I successfully used a WD1200BEVS-00UST0 drive.

It is a cheap deal for a 360 HDD, however when you can get a standard 2.5" 320GB HDD for £50, it doesn't look that good, irrespective of what the PS3 has.

I got this when HMV had it for £30, I certainly wouldn't pay any more than that for 120GB.
