Should be able to it's on their website:-

"We check our prices against major retailers every day so you can buy with confidence.

If you find a lower price for the same product and offer, we'll reduce our price by 110% of the difference – even up to 7 days after purchase!

This applies to prices offered by retailers within 30 miles of your local PC World store.

The product must be identical, in stock and available for immediate home delivery in one of the retailers detailed below - single unit purchases only.

This price promise applies to:
Argos, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, B&Q, Game Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Maplin, Staples, Toys R Us
."

:)

Edit- If you can find one in stock at PC World....None near me. :(

That's a lot of money to pay for 120Gb. For the same money you could buy a 1Tb external USB hard drive and connect that to your Xbox.

I'm still new to Xbox gaming, can you do that in regards to loading game saves, arcade games, etc. off it?

If you don't mind a second hand you can get them from CEX for £48 I think and the 60GB for £35.

Yes we all know that these are overpriced, but tis a great price.

Heat added.
#10
not a good price. i got this cheaper months ago so it should be much cheaper than £68 by now.
#11
Are these still £28 at Sainsurys as they were at Christmas?

Tell me about it. Another Microsoft rip off.

Is that even possible? I know it can be done with PS3, but surely not Xbox?!

No you can't. He's just being a troll.

Please, don't let this turn into another M$/P$3 hater thread. It's a good deal for what it is - leave it at that.

It cannot be done on ps3 either unless Sony have changed that recently.

You can back up your saves to an external drive but not have in game save / save game to external drive only internal.
#17
I hate 360 drives based in principle, but this is a good price though.

They are essentially just 2.5" laptop drives... just got a 400GB external for <£58 so by all rights these 360 drives shouldnt cost anywhere near as much, as they are practically the same thing. Mehh... Again though, as 360 drives go this is a good price so voting hot.

Sony force you to buy the 80gb drive (rip off)which you are more or less guaranteed you are going to change for a bigger one for around another £50.

And before anyone comments on my comments, I have both a 360 and Sony dvd player that has an internal hard disc. :-D

You can change this easily. I hear the instructions on how to are in your user guide for the ps3. I have an xbox and would much prefer that option!

PS3 500gb is the same price...

Good price for what it is. Voted hot.
#24
It's hot because it's normally £80-£90. Regardless of the comparison to prices and what you can do with PS3 and PC.

Heat added and reserved. Although they don't have any in my store. I saw one in there a couple of days ago so some swine must've reserved it. :(

Wow... the swear filter on this site is strict!

Bug and ger. Blimmin' censorship. :(

Yes, this should have the data migration kit.
It comes bundled with all retail 120GB HDD's; unless something has changed recently that i don't know about.

I wouldn't disagree, but it is a proprietary unit, incorporates the 'security' they (and the other game devs say) is needed, it works everytime with your Xbox and you don't need to do a thing to it to get it to work.

They're hardly alone in charging extra for that.

Actually you can

I just got my 500gb external drive to my Xbox this week.

Of course they won't let you play any games directly from it (Arcade or disc) - no surprises there - but you can use it to play your movies and MP3s and show your pictures from.

You have to have the drive properly formatted to FAT32 but once you have that done it's just a USB plug in (either in a caddy or as a complete external job) and your files will show in the Video, Music or Pictures menus under 'portable devices'.

The Fat32 formatter is easily found (but even with 500gb it takes a while to do), you can get it here - h**p://tokiwa.qee.jp/EN/Fat32Formatter/index.html
All 500gbs show and are useable.
IIRC it will work on a drive up to 2tb in size (when they arrive).

Or, more reasonably one might say, this sort of proprietary product is almost certainly going to be more pricey than just a bare drive, it's not really comparing like with like.

Personally I'm finding 120gb much better than the 60gb unit I had but it's still too small.
Since you can run games from the HDD it's a PITA putting games on the HDD & then later removing games to make room for Arcade stuff or movies.
This is only going to get worse as they bring in complete game downloads.

It has to happen, so the sooner they bring out a genuinely big drive (like 400 or 500gb) the better - particularly as it will bring about a price adjustment across the range (as happened to the 20gb drive last time when 60gb & 120gb drives came out).

i ordered one from cex a couple of weeks ago, when it turned up the connection terminal was bent i'm still waiting for the replacement plus you have to get a separate migration kit from microsoft. It's been a pain really probably worth spending the extra and getting it from Argos imo...

Microsoft will send you the migration kit free
(and you can eBay it if you like after using it and chop a little more off of you outlay, last time I looked the official kits with the disc go for anything between £20 and £30).

Doesn't £38 - £48 sound better for the 120gb drive?

You just need to ask for it here -

In order to play movies, tv shows, music and photos I've got a 1tb Buffallo NAS drive sitting in my house which the xbox connects to wirelessly. This drive is used by everything on my network so I don't really see the point in having an external hd connected to the xbox just for movies etc.

I have ordered the 120gb xbox hard drive though, cause I want to play all my games etc from the hard drive - don't want to burn out another drive on an xbox.

I know this product is overpriced compared to other hd's but this is a good price and a good deal

All I said was that you can use an external hard drive when it was said that we couldn't.

Of course you can also stream with wi-fi or with a cable to your PC and work off of the hard drive(s) on that for your music, movies & pictures.

The point being that you can easily take music movies & pictures out of the equation as far as the Xbox HDD is concerned and that will at least free up some space and add some flexibility for many.

I always run my games off of the Xbox HDD as it cuts the noise levels significantly.
