This deal includes an Xbox 360 250GB together with a Kinect Sensor and Kinect Adventures Game for only £299. You can then add an HDMI Cable for Free, one standard Xbox game for £10 (options include FIFA 11, Medal of Honor, The Sims 3, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit) and a Kinect Game for a further £10 (options include Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Sonic Free Riders, Motion Sports, Fighters Uncaged, Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Kinectimals or Kinect Joyride) - making a grand total of £319 for the 250gb console, Kinect sensor, HDMI cable and 3 games. The total price adjusts once all items are placed in your basket - I have just ordered and my basket price reduced by £68.45 from the previous total of £387.45 so I'm well happy - at least until someone bursts my bubble and posts its cheaper elsewhere that is!!

not bad! a lot of money to spend for an xbox though!

I bought this deal on the 3rd and it came this morning :) Still waiting on the HDMI cable though, that was sent seperately. It isn't bad at all for the price, two games for £20 (chose Kinectimals & Hot Pursuit) - it's worth getting them even if you don't play them, their resale values are much higher than a tenner. Hot!

Seems very expensive - i didnt even pay this on release date in 2005 - yes i didnt get any games with it but ive had it 6 years

I went for this on Boxing Day however placed a slightly different order. There are two bundle deals you could combine, one for the Xbox, HDMI, one game for £10 and then one Kinect game for an extra £10 and then there is the bundle for the Kinect plus one game for £10 extra.

So my deal was Xbox 250Gb, HDMI Cable, NFS Hot Pursuit, Dance Central, Kinect & Kinect Adventures plus Your Shape for £333.47. So for an extra £14 or so you can get an extra Kinect Game, something to consider.

So you are complaining that this is more expensive even though compared to the launch model it has a larger hard driveand built in wi-fi?

Just cannot win with some people...

does it included the power supply for kinect,as in its seperate and not the console and kinect in one bundle thanks

This is good? Wasn't the 4GB Xbox 360s with a Kinect on here for 199 from somewhere? Then, just slap a £30 250GB hard disk in there, HDMI cable for £3-4, NFS:HP for £24 and then there are deals on the mentioned Kinect games in various places. Should come in around £290-300 max.

I bought my son the £199 deal from Morrisons, would love to buy him an extra 250gb HDD, you say they are £30, any links to where please, I was going to buy him one on Saturday but they all seem £50 and up in the shops.

but then you have a possibly less resellable 4gig console with an unofficial hard drive for a saving of £19

1st, the console would be 250GB with the newly bought drive in it - not the 4GB. and 2nd, unofficial drive means nothing bad. If you look at people replacing hard drives in their consoles, you'll see it's a common and safe upgrade. Also, my highest possible price was just showing the worst possible scenario. With the deals going around, it could easily be less:

Xbox 360s 4GB + Kinect £199 (Morrisons as Sydney2002 mentioned)
250GB Hard drive (Overclock.co.uk) £33.24 + P&P
HDMI cable (Amazon) £ 2.15
NFS: Hot Pursuit (Amazon) £23.99
Kinect Sports (CoolShop) £30.31
**Total = £288.69**

So, it works out near £31 saving buying things separately. And that's not me hunting down the bargains either. That basic £31 saving is worth a full priced game or maybe a cheap game or two. Perhaps 2 sets of Xbox 2100 points cards from Play.com.
Also, on a personal note, I saw the 4GB model and actually prefer the coating it has on the main machine. I own the 250GB model and it just gets finger marks and teeny scuffs here and there very easily. Pretty sure that wouldn't be an issue with the 4GB model's finish.

Anyway, thought I'd round this up a bit more clearly to show what I meant by my post.

But its still a 4gig with an unofficial drive, even if it was an official drive it will not resell as high as a 250gig console which is my point

I have just tried to recreate my deal too and it is coming out at £352, so I do not know if the prices where slightly cheaper on Boxing Day or if any extra discount was added but I definately got it for £333

Well Ruzzy, it's left to those who feel happy with this deal or the separates idea with cheaper outcome.

As an aside, where did you hear that people don't like manually upgraded drives in consoles, therefore selling worse than official drives?

surely its obvious cex right now for example 4gb £101, 250gb £131
at a guess the 4gb just like the previous entry level 360's will become common and the resale market for them will drop and therefore this price gap will grow

but like you say its for people to decide what works for them, even if thats the even cheaper option of another post opening up a credit account with studio 24

I didn't realise you meant the official reselling route. They'll skin people alive! I was thinking about the second hand market for reselling. Much more potential. Selling through those official routes always leaves a bad taste.

The console and kinect were seperate, even though they came all in one delivery/package. Therefore kinect did come with an additional power supply for the old xbox.

either way an official 250gb will be worth more
#23
It's an irrelevant argument, as by the time you come to sell you will get little anyway, as it will probably be because you want to upgrade to something else, or it will be broken.
If it costs more to start with, you have lost more money, regardless of whether it is worth more
at resale.
Why would anybody consider the resale value as part of a decision for consumer electronics?
A car yes, an xbox no. Just get what makes you happy and is cheaper in the long run.
An arcade 360 with a second hand official drive and a 20 metre ethernet lead worked out for me. If a 360 4gb slim and an unofficial drive works for you, go for it. If it don't, why argue with others because you believe you are right?

Official RRP is £299 for the 250gb xbox and Kinect so a reasonable deal here.

because people have opionions the same as you think resale is irrelivant and many people dont. Back to the main point I have also read various reports that microsoft are looking dimly on using non official drives and there are rumours of xbox live bans. It seems unlikely in my opinion as this could cause a consumer backlash, but then again thats just my opinion.
#25
so how many times have you sold your xbox? I see no reason why you would buy an new xbox then worry about selling it, unless you are paranoid about RROD. But after the 3 years or so that MS warranty this fault I wouldn't pay much for any xbox.
ATM the resale values you quoted don't mean anything, as you would pay out a bigger difference than you would get back on resale. Your figures make it much better to buy a 4gb with an unofficial or official drive and resell separately, than get the 250 gb in the first place.

MS would be breaking the law by banning people for using unofficial hard drives. It's been proved with the jailbroken I-phones case.
#26
Sorry for the delay I got bored of this thread............anyway to answer your questions ive sold a few consoles over the years and had one RROD. I also "may" have modded a few consoles along the way to make them suit my needs. So personally im more than happy to unofficially modify my machines but for your average user voiding a warranty isnt advisable and resale should always be considered.
