First you’ll notice the little things. And we mean that literally. The console itself is smaller – so it’ll fi t neatly on the shelf.

Wi-Fi in the house.
These days, everything is wireless. The new Xbox 360 is the only console with 802.11n Wi-Fi built in. You’ll find an unfettered connection to the ever-expanding entertainment possibilities of Xbox LIVE – including a fast and easy way to stream HD films and TV and play games with friends around the world.
Room to grow your entertainment.
The built-in 4 GB drive has room to store game saves and it’s removable too, just in case you ever want to take it to a friend’s house.
More ports, more play.
Connect more accessories and storage solutions with added USB ports. Now with a total of 5 ports, (3 back/2 front) you’ll fi nd more places to plug and play. Plus, in addition to the standard HDMI output, we’ve added an integrated optical audio out port for an easier connection to the booming sound of your A/V receiver.
A touching development.
It might not seem like a big deal, but the cool factor of capacitive touch buttons cannot be over stated. Everyone has grown accustomed to the non-button buttons on fancy smart phones, so we’ve added that functionality to the power and eject buttons.
Sounds like…
With the all-new and much quieter Xbox 360, the noise you’ll hear is your own laughing, cheering and playing.
Hold on to your socks.
You’re not ready. Not yet anyway. Kinect is making YOU the controller and it’s going to blow you away. With a dedicated, proprietary port, the Xbox 360 4 GB is built specifi cally to connect seamlessly with the Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor – and will have you up off the sofa and into the world

The following are key features of the Xbox 360 4 GB:

Dressed to impress: Sleek and matte black finish, the Xbox 360 4 GB comes with an internal, removable flash drive and touch-sensitive buttons for switching on/off and disk ejection.
The Xbox 360 that you’ve been waiting for: Connect with a faster wireless connection than any other console2. Enjoy blazing speeds with built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi while streaming fi lms or playing games on Xbox LIVE®. Store more games and entertainment content with 4 GB of flash drive space.
Kinect ready: Kinect will work with every Xbox 360, but the Xbox 360 4 GB console is specially designed for the easiest connection to controller-free fun. Just connect the sensor directly to the proprietary port on your console — no extra power supply needed.
Backwards compatible: Don’t worry; you’ll still be able to connect the controllers and any other accessories that you already own to Xbox 360 4 GB while playing the best blockbuster games like “Halo Reach” and “Fable III”. (External Xbox 360 flash Drives and Xbox 360 Memory Units are not compatible with the new Xbox 360 console.)

Think the "the wii has better responses than kinect" bit is a tiny bit inaccurate.

Does this come with Kinect?
Seems very cheap if it does, if not then I think the title of this thread is a bit confusing.

Does not come with Kinect.

Checked on Play who state that Kinect is an optional extra and Amazon have this with Kinect for £250.

the slim has a power port for kinect, all the other versions require you to use the power pack (which comes with kinect anyway)

i don't really see the point in paying £139 for a console with a 4gb hdd, it's only another 50 quid for the 250gb version. not that much more really when you think about what you're getting, if people can't afford the extra 50 quid then maybe they shouldn't be wasting money on a games console anyway

This version only exists for PR reasons, just like the old arcade 360. MS can say their console is only £140. And they will probably release a £250 bundle with Kinect for the same reason.

The matt finish does make the awful xtreme custom PC case like design look slightly better though.

Plenty of people bought the Arcade version though, so there's clearly been a market for those who aren't bothered with Xbox Live, and won't be needing all the extra space for game downloads etc - 4gb should be enough for them, and if not they can add upto 16gb with a flash drive?

I've been fine with a 20gb premium for the last 3 years on xbox live, though if I was going to get a new one i'd probably go for the 250gb personally. Can certainly see those who have perhaps seen their old 360 die recently, choose the cheaper option if they don't play online.

Does anyoneone know if the new Xboxes still sounds like a jet engine reading the discs. It's pretty shocking compared to my PS3.

the slim xbox is more or less silent even if you don't install the game, the elites are quiet if you install games to the hdd. before i started installing games that i play often it was quite obvious the xbox was on in the room, where as you couldn't notice the ps3 being on at all
