you might not be able to trade the games in as they are will most likely be bundle/promo copies.

I think microsoft have started a new wireless entertainment pack with lego indy/kungu fu panda and viva
#10
I just bought the £99 Xbox from Marshal Ward. I new I should have waited!:x
#11
Good find! Any idea if these games are packaged individually, or come as a bundle? I just bought the Lego Indy and Kung Fu Panda bundle yesterday on the 12.99 deal posted on this site (they are bundled together in one case). Doh! So it would be great if I could sell or trade the games that came with this xbox.
#12
****** games but great deal!
#13
If these games were seperate games then this would be a great deal but the fact that lego indy, kung fu panda & wireless controller are the new wireless entertainment pack & viva pinata is dirt cheap to buy (eg - £7.99 at gamestation) then i vote warm not hot.
I think the blockbuster deal (xbox 60gb + fifa 09 + dead space) is the best deal around
#14

I think if any parents out there want to get a 360 as a family xmas gift then this pack is the best bargain, not forgetting that as of tomorrow Argos have the £5 for £50 spend and £10 for £100 spend gift vouchers back on.

A Xbox 360, with a 60gb hard disk, extra controller (wonder if this is official though?) and 3 family games all for £159.99 (when you take into the account the voucher) is a fantastic pre-xmas deal.

Voted hot......good value pack for parent buyers for kids.

The offer you listed ends today as you said, but it also is unclear if you really get those games included in the 169 -- it tells you to click on the "special offers" tab and this is what it says:
"Buy the XBox 360 Console (566/6793), Project Gotham Racing 4 (568/9000) and any 2 games listed below for under £210. To receive this offer add 4 items to trolley. Offer ends 16th January 2009."

So it sounds like the new offer is a better deal, especially considering you get an extra controller and that, starting tomorrow, you'll get a 10 quid giftcard.

I don't know where other people got it, but I got an email the other day saying the giftcard offer was coming back. I didn't save it so can't verify when the offer was to start, but I'm assuming those who say it starts tomorrow did save the email or ad, lol.

The £5 and £10 gift cards promotion is definitely back tomorrow, as i work in argos and saw the posters today.
#29
I just posted as well but missed the extra game. This was just advertised on TV and it mentioned to £10 voucher for sure with spends over £100.

Extra controller and games are worth at least £70 at retail, the controllers are £24.99 on their own + a £10 voucher. Brilliant deal they are going to sell loads of these, its great value at £159 when you take into account the free voucher !

Good to see some good bundles comming through this one is brilliant for kids... Might be worth adding the name of the games and the free £10 voucher to the title

What price is the Blockbuster deal?
#31
#32
That is a good deal at Blockbuster.

But the 360 controller is sealed in a normal retail bubble, OK £8 for Via Piniata (But it is an excellent game especially for kids) Indie & Kung Fu Panda still retail for £25 each, ok they are bundled so say £30. Thats still £60 worth of for the games and controller & that would be great if you are buying for children. With the voucher its only actually £159.

The other bundle is excellent but more for adults this is a great deal if youa re buying for kids IMO...

Glad to hear I was not wrong about my post of this then! Straight from the horses mouth, no insult intended, I am sure as a Argos worker you are not a horse :)

Maybe overworked like one tho!
#34
thanks to the original poster, think i'll grab one of these tomorrow

Those of you looking just for the 60gb console I got one instore John Lewis Liverpool today for £139.50. The cheapest ive come across and safe in the knowledge that any probs John Lewis are always accommodating. The games in the Argos deal are in a bundle so little chance of trading and the controller is generic. You pay your money and take your choice!

Intrestingly its £169 online

Not necessarily true, they may be in a bundle, but certain gaming stores take in these bundle deal games, an example of a recent one is the Forza 2/Viva Pinatá bundle pack, which CEX took in as trade, albeit at a lesser trade in value than the usual individual games, but there is still some trade in value.

But I must admit, depending on what potential buyers want, its true what you say, you pay your money and make your choice.

For people interested in a bundle to trade in stuff, this isn't the best buy, as stated earlier this bundle I feel is ideal for xmas gifts for family/children, and I am sure Microsoft have aimed these Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda bundles that way, perfect marketing.

If not anything else, the aggressive price drop and marketing campaign Microsoft have done, along with an impressive Winter lineup of games certainly make for interesting sales times for the 360 for sure.
#37
Can anyone find this offer online yet?

Got it thanks.
#38
Took a while but i have found it
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5666793/Trail/searchtext>XBOX.htm#tab3
click on special offer tab and at very bottom of page add both games then goes through at £169.95 :)
#39
In terms of resale or trade I have ordered these games off another thread and will personally be printing out colour laser copies of the correct covers and sticking them in their own cases. I have done this before and traded / sold stuff, if its ebay you tell people and they are not bothered, if you are trading they probably wont notice / or be bothered.

Yes its a bit of hassle but the games King Fu and Indi Games retail at £25 each worth it for a few minutes work. In any event its perfect for the market its aimed at - kids and is the best available in this category imo at the moment. People are always moaning there are no games / bundles for the 360 / PS3 aimed at kids well here you go !

Shame the wireless entertainment pack ( extra controller and kung fu and lego ) are both out of stock for hojme delivery, have had to reserve to store instead of having it delivered.
