That's a great deal if people are looking for the standalone console but there's some pretty good bundles going around right now, so it might be worth spending the extra cash to get a couple games at a nice discount.

If you don't like any of the bundles though because you don't like the games offered and you just want the 60gb console, then this is perfect. :)

Voted hot! I know there are bundles around which probably represent better value. With regards to the price for this actual product though it seems to be the best by a long way.
#3
Yeah it's a corking price. Some great bundles about too. Although, I notice that a lot of the best bundles seem to have 18 rated games in them. You'd have thought this close to Christmas they might be thinking more about the younger audience......So maybe this is a good one for those who don't want their little darlings killing hookers on GTA4 :giggle:

Good price for those wanting an extra 360 with hard disk for a media centre extension and two consoles for gaming in a household. Otherwise as stated above, other bundles for £30 extra right now are great if its games you are after with the 360.

Hot price for a standalone Premium.

Ha ha!!!! I like that - missed a golden opportunity to mention Clarkson though.... :whistling:

Great deal, imho many of the games offered in the multi-deals being offered are not that good. I'd rather buy the console and sort the games out myself personally.
Voted hot!

Hot. My xbox has just died so I don't know whether to send for repair or buy a new one

I think the general rule of thumb is that if it has HDMI and/or the 175w PSU then it's the Falcon chipset or better. They are much less prone to the red ring of death.

Can anyone tell me, are these new 'Falcon' models quieter than the old ones?
Thanks

Yes they're much better, as they don't run as hot. Still not exactly what I'd call quiet though.

Thanks.
Good deal, but still reluctant to order as these things seem to be getting cheaper every week at the moment

Ordered mine from play.com a couple of weeks ago for £179.99, which included GTA4. At this price, I must say it's quite a good deal, especially if you fork out £20 on a couple of preowned games from GameStation.
#18
Will be later revisions of the falcons . If your lucky you might even get a jasper but wouldn't count on it :(

That's becuase it's not long since Microsoft slashed the prices across Europe. I very much doubt they'll get any cheaper unless Microsoft officially drop the price again. But I think the chances of that are slim to non anytime soon (and Microsoft have said as such), given the already extremely favorable prices compared to PS3 and Wii.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm looking to replace my old model, but keep holding off as the prices drop. I just wouldn't be surprised if in a week's time we see this price elsewhere, with an extra game for £10 or whatever.
It's a great deal if you want one today, but if you're in no huge rush (i.e. just replacing a perfectly good one) then might as well continue waiting.

I work at Sainsbury's and I have heard a rumour that they will be having Xboxs' on special offer again (Arcade £99.99 etc.)

Please don't count on it though

If this happens, I will buy one purely to stream content from my computer through my TV (using TVersity).

laze

thats just a silly price. fast approaching the £99 floor for a console.
#24
For an extra £30 you get the another wireless pad game of your choice fro a load of top titles and another couple of games that sell for £20 on ebay (Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indie)

Personally I think thats a much better offer but it finishes today......

Basically shopto sold off there free ms bundles seperately for £40 which has allowed the discount on the 60gb consoles; they are actually making more profit doing it this way....

If you are buying from Game they will tell you that all their 360s are now 175w Falcons, very doubtful that any 60gb will not be a Falcon(I don't think any are non Falcon), if you are thinking of buying the 360 from the OP deal above just use their site to Phone them (they have a number) or mail and ask them if it is a Falcon ,,

(Only the 20gb would give you a chance of getting the old obsolete Zephyr nowdays)

thanks. rep added

is the falcon the newest model?
#26
M$ said no to console price drops in future , just bundle games with them.

If it's not a Falcon then you are basically getting a new One on repair bar the outer casing,All internals, motherboard,,new quiet fans and the later drive, MS just want rid of all pre falcons now, so everything is replaced except the outer casing, though if it's a non HDMI zephyr or earlier you will still not get the HDMI port ........

I've just got my 360 back from repair (it was the old type with no HDMI and a 203w power brick) and it's worth noting that although they replaced the motherboard, and obviously changed the drive to a Liteon, it still runs considerably hotter than the replacement I bought recently that's a Falcon type (175w pb).

So I'm not convinced they swop-out all the internals or I would have expected them to run with fairly similar heat output.

Non HDMI 360s are either repaired or replaced with a Falcon equivalent chipset named Opus.

The Opus revision is the same 65nm CPU and 90nm GFX as on a Falcon revision but fitted into a Xenon/Zephyr case without a HDMI port.

Bargain!

Next day delivery to!

They even text you on dispatch, great find. Just to confirm I got a 175W (max) power supply with mine which leads me to conclude that they don't have Jaspers just yet.
#33
are these flashable?
