very poor value.

i realise it's less than half price, but when you consider some of the downloadable xbla games are 150mb+, and that a 120gb hdd can be had for ~£30 in some places, this card is next to worthless.

cold, i'm afraid...

I think you can store your gamercard on it (which means you don't need to recover your account when you hop around on different machines)

I'd love to know where you can get a 120gb 360 drive for £30 :p

Likewise!!!

I haven't seen them for less than about £65

probably means the 20 gig @ 29.99 from last week.

Isn't the point of this forum to value each deal on it's own merits?

Like saying a 4GB flash drive that's on special offer for £5 isn't good value because the 8gb is on special offer for £9. Of course the bigger drive, or more of something you buy the better value it gets.

If it's one of the cheapest value 4GB flash drives then it's a hot deal for a 4GB flash drive is it not?

I haven't seen this memory card for less than £15 recently.

Voted hot by me!

Has anyone any ideas where I can get a cheap hard drive? I have been looking ever since the COD4 new maps were released. Online they seem to be about £60 for a 20 gb and on ebay they are going for about £50 - too much!!!
#8
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3940 dealextreme seem to have these 64MB memory cards for $18.40
#9
oops, meant 20gb of course!

point is, 64mb is so miniscule as to be a waste of plastic

honestly can't see why anyone would buy one!!
#10
it is smaller than a HDD and contains no moving parts....
#11
ive got one :D

the only size it launched with, and worked out a lot cheaper buying a core and 64mb than a premium with 20gb, i dont use live and download demos so its not important just need to save a few games on it :)

its pretty cheap for a new uk one, so gonna vote hot

Thats what I use mine for. I store my Gamertag on it and use it when I switch 360's.

I have one of these which i weant to sell with this datel transfer kit thing i have. Its stupid, i put gamesaves and that onit, like PES8 super goals to show my mate but it always says no date found when i plug it inot his 360.

Me too. Also, if you need to save the game it gives the option to go either the card or the hdd - in the event of having to return to a different save point other than the one on the hdd.... does that make sense?:?

I think grex9101 was trying to stress that the 64Mb memory card is out-dated as it's been superseded by the 512Mb memory card and posting this deal was like saying, "Hey look how cheap this 32Mb USB memory stick is" when these days people need a much higher capacity. He's voting cold because it's old technology, which in his opinion at least, is worth considerably less than £10.

The 64Mb was fine at the Xbox 360's release date as no arcade games were more than 64Mb but nowadays there's loads of things on the marketplace which are more than 64mb which is why MS have since released a 512Mb memory card.

Having said all that, if you got the 20Gb/80Gb HDD and only want it for the convenience of quickly transferring your Xbox Live profile then it's more than adequate. It does take a ridiculously long time to recover your profile and can cause problems when you go back to your own Xbox 360.

I think I bought the 64Mb at the Xbox 360's launch for about £15.99 from Blah DVD as I had a voucher of some kind.

My sentiments exactly - this is the cheapest way to store savegames. I don't want any of the other stuff from XboxLive - all my media gets streamed. They could have built a measly 64mb in but they didn't....the feckers!!

Wish mine had been £9.99 18 months ago - voted hot!

I wish I had one before my premium got the red rings... coulda saved my gamertag... but I lost it when I upgraded to an Elite. I'll be getting one of these to avoid the situation again... plus I can save some cars from Need4Speed to take round a mates etc.

Great find thanks!

So many hidden costs that the naive first time buyer doesn't take into account. Ripped off time and time again, hilarious.

Wow, i've seen you in every 360 deal, with comments like these, do you really think people care what you think, with such a bias opinion?

Great deal, ordered one just to store a copy of my gamertags on.

Agreed total bore nothing constructive whatsoever

Wonder when (if ever) he will be able to get those £30 each PS3 dual shock pads which they are all going to need, he could get backward compatibility sometime this year if he sells his PS3 of course.. Still at least he can play the £25 Gran Tourismo DEMO until the full version comes out which will cost another £40 for the same thing with more cars and tracks (and a car simulation without shock or feedback is just hilarious)...

Voted HOT for the memory unit by the way..
#24
These are useful for moving around your gammer card and saves to mates machines, so I vote hot.
#25
64mb does fill up quick if your playing e.g pgr3 - need at least the 256mb imo or the hard drive

I had to recover my profile the other week took about 5-10 mins.... thats nothing

I'd rather save the tenner!

Isn't there a small amount of memory on the Core & Arcade enough to store saves on??

I never went on XBL... my gamertag was just on the system... and it got replaced for an Elite, so I didn't keep the harddrive... hence I have had to start over.

Depends how often you are doing it. If you do it once a day for a year, then thats 2.5 days spent recovering your profile...

id rather pay £10.
#32
If you want to play with your profile at a mates house then (obvious security issues of recovering on a machine that isn't yours aside) you have to recover it there which can take considerably more than 10 mins if you have played a lot of games. Then you need to recover it again when you get home.

I have 512mb unit that I use for this but the 64mb would have been just fine. Worth the money if you want the convenience.

Also, if you have more than one 360 (I plan to soon) then it is the easiest way to move between machines in different rooms.

Sparc, I've already warned you about trying to stir up every thread that mentions PS3/360. Please stop trying to cause arguments.

I wasn't having a pop at him. It's just people in general seem to jump on the "cold" bandwagon. I know what you're saying. I bought one at release. Overpriced then, over priced for £10 for the technology now. I agree.

Same as the offical wireless adaptor for the 360. A rip off at £60, compared to the price of a wireless adaptor for PC use. If it was on here for £45, it's still too dear, but a good deal for a 360 wireless adaptor. I guess I don't like the cold voting, as I feel stuff should be voted for on how much cheaper it is compared to RRP, or other retailers. Not stuff that it can't be compared to such as PC removeable storage, which it can't be used for the same things on the 360.

Happy deal hunting.

Got one today!... many thanks.

thx a lot

Just to say still in stock at Argos lincoln.

I got one for my son - he will still save downlaod content and saves on his 20gb hdd but will keep his live account on his card so he can play xblox live on our 46" lcd on my xbox or take it to his friends and play on live their.

Plus if one of our 360's fail we have a way of still playing.
#38
Cheaper by 2p from PCWorld if you collect. This could be normal price for these 64Mb cards.
