Have used the code XX214 for 20% off. The xbox 360 Arcade is being sold by Marshall Ward (and Littlewoods Direct) for £159 which is an okay price for a catalogue web site (Littlewoods, Choice, Great Universal all overpriced at £199) add in the 20% discount and this = £31.80 off + £3.50 postage = £130.70 delivered. I have tried the code on Littlwoods Direct also and it appears to be working no problem.

I know there has always been some question about these codes being honoured by the retailer. All I can say is that I have used them off and on for some time now and never had one rejected yet. Oh and I know you can add codes for free delivery but technically you are only supposed to use one with any given order and I dont want to push my luck for the sake of £3.50 !

I might add also, I am led to understand that all consoles now sold come with a three year warranty as standard.

Nice use of a voucher and a great price. Even better than Shopto's pre-order price!

however....

the 3 year warranty only covers console failure by Red Ring Of Death though doesn't it? doesn't everything else get covered by a 1 year warranty which would require taking or sending back to where you bought it i.e. Marshall Ward?

is this correct and if so could this pose any potential future problems taking into account the Xbox 360's dubious all-round reliabilty record?

just thinking that's all...

In regards to the 1 year warranty.
You have a years warranty with Microsoft, so you always have the option of sending it back to them. As long as it's within the years warranty they'll repair it free of charge and renew the warranty.

That's where mine is now :x

Marshall Ward website running slowly (unless it's me?) and comes up with delivery date of Tuesday 25th March before it asks for your payment details.

I know good things come to those who wait but i will porbably just pick up the Argos £159 2 game bundle posted on HUKD earlier today.

Night!

The comment at the end of my post re the three year warranty issue was based on the information received from the company on the link below. The second paragraph states that all xbox consoles now sold automatically come with three years cover. I can only assume they are providing accurate information, I suppose the only sure way of finding out about warranty period is to speak to Microsoft directly.

They are a reputable local organisation of many years standing who amongst other things repair all game consoles.

Also didnt bother mentioning Quidco in the post because I reckon it would be rejected anyway, always worth a try of course but I have never had any luck getting a Quidco payment when using codes like this 20% off. I guess they draw the line!

Absolute rubbish, Microsoft clearly state:

Expanded Xbox 360 Warranty Coverage FAQ

Q: What are you rolling out that is new?
A: While we maintain our one-year console warranty (two years in some countries), Microsoft is extending the terms of its Xbox 360 warranty to three years for certain general hardware failures which are indicated by three flashing red lights on the console. This will apply to new and existing customers and we will retroactively pay back the out-of-warranty repair costs paid by customers for console problems indicated by the three flashing red lights.

Q: How does this warranty differ from your existing warranty?
A: Currently, any Xbox 360 is covered by a one year manufacturer’s warranty (two years in some parts of the world). If the console is out of warranty, there is a charge to have it repaired. It then comes with an additional one year repair warranty. With these changes, there is effectively a three year warranty with no charge for repair for general hardware failures indicated by the three flashing red lights error code which displays on the console.

Would I be right in saying this code would also make the Premium ~£160 delivered?

Just about.......£162.70 delivered to be excact.

£199 less 20% (£39.80) = £159.20 + £3.50 postage = £162.70

Thats fine by me......forget the warranty angle. The deal was posted as a means of getting 20% off a console.
