Great price. Was looking for one for the OH but just got one free with a mobile phone contract. This sounds like a great deal though, would have bought otherwise. Hot

I think those five games are packaged in a single 5 disc case.

No they are all on their own separate disc and boxed.

These games all come as full boxed games:

- Kameo
- Fuzion Frenzy 2
- Viva Pinata
- Project Gotham Racing 3

The - Xbox 360 Live Arcade Unplugged: Vol 1 - comes in one box and includes 6 Arcade games on one disk. Some pretty decent games on the disk too, they are:

Bejeweled 2

Geometry Wars Retro Evolved

Wik - Fable of souls

Texas Hold Em Poker

Outpost Kaloki

Hardwood Backgammon

Dunno - I've only tried in Hull Comet - why don't you go there ? I got viva Pinata for 99p. I also got it for £5 a few months back.

For differences betwee the 3 consoles, see below

http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/hardware/comparisontable.htm

main difference between Arcade and the rest :

NO hard drive ( £65 @ Play.com )
NO High Definition Video Cable (Another £10 or so)

It does however come with a 256mb memory card.
#15
not that hot a deal when you compare it with other deals around.

The Premium is now at £199 at Argos and that also comes with the 5 Games best sellers pack that is usually sold at £124.99p

The Premium is properly your best bet as it comes with all you need to get the best from the 360 and nothing else to buy later...(comes with a headset and hard drive which the Arcade does not)..

So i need the hard drive version if i want to play old xbox games?
#24
yes.. that is correct. but considering 20gb hard drive is only £40 on ebay, Arcade would be a good start. Plus, you get the extra games with arcade.
#25
Arcade IS that great a deal. The games on its disc and the unplugged vol 1, you would pay around £45 for over xbox live.

Kameo you rarely see cheaper than a tenner, because it's one of the best games on the 360. Play it plus Viva Pinata and find out why Rareware are so great.

Fusion frenzy is a bit of a run of the mill puzzler, and PGR 3 is a solid first-gen-360 racer.

This offer is EXCELLENT. Anyone comparing this to the premium or elite are mental. If you want to buy a cheap 360 and just get going immediately with it, then this is all you need. Perfect for a family.

Heat, rep and my thanks for finding such an excellent offer.
#26
does anyone know if these have the benq/falcon drives in them??

This isn't actually a good deal after initially seeming very good. Note its only available with the Arcade SKU.

First of all, Argos have added £10 to the RRP of the console anyway so nothings free and you can actually buy the console at that price on its own if you're not thorough enough to read every special offer. Pretty cheeky that imo (or just incompetent salesmanship).

Second, the Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged game is packaged with every version of the Arcade SKU anyway so again they're being very cheeky here.

Effectively you're paying £10 for

- Kameo
- Fuzion Frenzy 2
- Viva Pinata
- Project Gotham Racing 3

which is fine...except you'd probably save more money on a standard deal somewhere else. For example at every other retailer I've looked at (Amazon, Game, Gamestation) you can get the Arcade plus Halo 3 for the same price. Halo 3 has an RRP of £50 but you can get it online for £30 and I imagine its £35-£50 in retail. Not a great saving, but I think you would struggle to raise £30 if you traded in those 4 games above with the intention of getting a better game. Most likely scenario, you paid £10 for those 4, attempt to trade them in for something like Halo and have to pay another £5-£15 on top to get it. Not very good!

On top of that places like Amazon have a selection of games you can get further discounted when ordered with a console, saving £15-£20 per game, as well as a bundle which includes a wireless controller, Forza 2 and Viva Pinata for £25 - controllers are £30 RRP so thats a fantastic deal really.

Personally:

Arcade - £149
Wireless Ent. Pack (controller, Viva Pinata, Forza 2) - £25
Halo 3 - £10
Burnout Paradise - £20

£205 = much better bargain.

You get much better (and newer) games and an extra controller for £40 more. If you're dying for the likes of Kameo and Fusion Frenzy (haha) then they can be picked up for peanuts whereas you will not see Halo 3 or Burnout Paradise under £20 for a long time, nor will you get a controller for under £25 under normal circumstances, nevermind Forza 2 and Viva Pinata which are both excellent games.

chances are YES... since xbox 1 games are played on emulation software.

need a drive to store the software right?

or just buy the one that fred head linked to for £200 which would be exactly the same as this deal with a £40 HDD form ebay.

with the added bonus of not having to buy a HDD off ebay
#30
well I meant that if you decide you want a HD later on. Not everyone wants to download everything. Some people just want to play games. :)

The arcade live unplugged is not packaged with the Arcade it is a different collection. Also Halo 3 is widely available for sale on most forums and Ebay for about £15 now. Remember you also get a £10 voucher back as well, so even better value

Just a heads up guys just been to collect the elite and games and they rufused to give us the free games and said was only on the arcade. Called customer services and they confirmed it was with all 3 and it even showed on the system so it must have been a manual override made instore but don't know why so they called the store and told them to have the games ready for me to collect.
This was the Northampton store
