Just googled and the cheapest I can see is ASDA at £124.71 so despite the whopping 2p difference, I think this is a good deal

EDIT - Just seen that they charge £4.95 delivery, making this deal even better..... lets hear where this is cheaper guys?!?!?

Depends how lucky you are. I personally wouldnt toucha second hand 360 due to the RROD, I'd rather pay a bit more and get the full 3yrs warranty. BEst thing to do is check out what sort of price they are going for on ebay and the local rags

I think that the RROD 3yr warranty is linked the machine's serial, Im not sure if the "registered owner" can be changed if you've registered it though?

My mates 360 (2 years 10 months old) RROD'd on him....

You go to the xbox website, click the link, enter the serial number, if the manufacture date is less than 3 years, it automatically accepts and gives you the details for the warranty return, if its older than 3 years but you purchased it less than 3 years ago, you'll need a receipt.

Credit to microsoft, the whole service was paid for including the UPS pickup from any location and took less than a fortnight.

For a console thats been out for 5 years and still has a huge death rate? Yeah, that truly is outstanding service...

Hmmm... as opposed to Sony who despite a huge failure rate are still charging £80 for the priviledge of repairing an inherant PS3 fault, you never heard of the "Yellow light of death?" cos if you haven't statistics show that you soon may do :whistling:

Yeah mate, thats what I was saying, but I have registered my 360 in my name and address with Microsoft, I dont know if this affects the 3yr RROD warranty

These should really be under £100 by now tbh

What is, the YLOD?? you keep thinking that way if you want  Regardless of the failure rate, Sonys stance is really bad considering that they KNOW its a system failure, at least MS are doing the right thing by their customers!

I dont really want this to lead into a xbox vs ps3 discussion...

but to state that a 1% failure rate from ylod is huge is rather an exaggeration and from my understanding of the situation the ylod does not indicate a specific fault i.e. overheating etc but a range of faults

and... you do know that MS didn't do it out of the kindness of their hearts right. lol No the failure rates were high enough to get global recognition... they had no choice but to extend the warranty if they didn't they would have lost a considerable amount of business, people would have avoided the xbox like the plague because of the notorious rrod. You have even said it yourself without the 3 year warranty you wouldnt buy a 2nd hand xbox for fear of the rrod so the 3 year warranty allows you to feel comfortable purchasing an xbox.

anyway I reckon that all products costing over £200 should automatically have 3 years warranty or all electrical product over £200

It won't lead to a fanboy debate, I think Im a bit old for that  You are correct in what you are saying but I personally have doubts over the 1% rate. I think Sony are like the Police, people can't be bothered to report crime as they know its pointless = reduced crime?!?!?

I have 3 friends with PS3's and two (albeit the older phat models) have gone the way of YLOD, neither however reported it to Sony! I think that the only reason RROD has been so widely reported is that it has been publicised so much that EVERYONE is aware of it and send them back. Mine was the one before Jasper, supposedly the "non-RROD" one, it was loved like a son and ot still went RROD, thats why I would NEVER touch a 2nd hand one.

As you said, if they have faith in their tech, lets see no-quibble (unless opened of course) warranties, for gods sake, I found my imported Sega Genesis in the loft the other month, been there years, fired up straight away, noew thats durability!!!!
