Agreed.
For the extra £35 you get a second controller , two average games and two good ones.
If you ebay these you'll get far more than £35 back.

Unless you also value your time. You're saying more about yourself than anyone else, if you can't conceive that the value of a good deal can also be in how much or little hassle is actually involved.
#14
wow - it would be rude not too.
#15
so whats the point of the xbox with hard drive? Do you need hard drive?
#16
game online have been shipping october models for quite some time now.. fact is, even July ones will have the 9xxxx drive

you dont "need" one, the onboard memory is enough for your saves, if you want online content you will need a hard drive, also, with a hard drive you can install your games to it so while playing there is MUCH less noise as the dvd drive isnt spinning around sounding like an aeroplane.. and it extends the life of your dvd drive (as the lasers in all 360's are poop!)

Post them to CEX?

They pay:
LFD2: £22
Saboteur, The: £21
Pure: £5
Lego Batman: £7

That's £54.
Couple of quid to post them; job's a good'n - £17 saving, and you get to keep a free controller!

Now; that'll be £5 to cover the 15 minutes it took for me to find these prices - cheers!

Even me (as a PS3 owner) can see this is a HOT deal
#21
I hope everyone voting this hot, realizes that this is more expensive than they were 6 months ago?

Over time technology is supposed to get cheaper! (or better)

Thanks, does this mean Game have allowed Hardware purchases with the vouchers as they disabled them previously.

I was hoping to get this at Gamestation as I have a gift card so I guess it is £109 which i why I was curious if it was in store too.

Maybe now my OH can get me one for Christmas.

May sound daft, but will this come with any game in the box at all, or is it just the console? Just wondered why it's called the Arcade ( Sorry I haven't had a console in a while, last ones were the Dreamcast (Which I still love), and the original XBox, both of which cost about twice this at the time!).My son has the Wii, but aside from Mariokart, I don't really like many of the other games he's got, but then he is only 8!

DISCLAIMER: Assuming the CEX prices don't drop before the deal is sealed.

It is fair for people to still consider it a hassle doing this. If you are one of those people then this is the deal for you. £105 delivered. This cannot be argued.

They used to bundle a DVD with about 5 Arcade games with them, but recently to cut costs they have not.

This is identical to the Elite other than its White and comes with onboard memory (if its a Jasper) as opposed to an external hard drive.

The Arcades used to come with a separate memory card but with the Jasper the memory has been put onboard.

Thanks for that, Oh well looks like she'd have to get a game as well.Jasper I take it, is the motherboard/chipset series, and I assume the latest.

P.S. to the other question, my Avatar is indeed from the film 2001, it's one of my all time favourite films, and the lens reminds me, of how much like that other film, 1984, our country has become, with the concept of big brother watching you everywhere, and not just talking camera's, yes the old Apple Macintosh ad springs to mind.

Yes Jasper is the motherboard and the latest and most reliable and coolest running.

Games wise, can highly recommend Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4 or the new double story set GTA: Ballad of Gay Tony which is new storys based off the GTA4 game mechanics engine

But just look at

Cheers, thanks for your help:thumbsup:
I don't get much time for console gaming, mainly as my OH wants the TV for, well, TV! but I used to love playing GTA Vice City, so the new GTA game sounds good.I shouldn't complain though, I have a sort of mini arcade at home, one machine is a Phoenix cabinet, which I converted, so it plays that and most others of that era (showing my age!).Still, I'm not completely retro, I enjoy old games, but appreciate how much better new ones are, as they're just so realistic now.
#34
Good deal. Don't see why people are arguing over if this is better than amazon or not, it is totally personal preference. Personally I would just pick the deal based on what is convenient to me at the time. Selling the stuff to CEX, a matter of a 10minute walk to trade it in works out good for me and surely others too. Both have merits.

At least people are not voting cold based on comparison with recent good deals for say elites etc.
#35
Any idea if you get free next day delivery?

Was in Game today and missed this offer.

Don't quite understand your post, but no you can't legally make your own 360 HDD (sata, not pata, unless pata covers sata).

On Here http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/557999/confused-with-xbox-types-elite-vs-a

it was said adding a HDD made this Arcade console effectively an Elite console.( "but a Arcade version and a seprate Hard Drive is the same as an elite,") .but i was wondering what type of HDD it takes (thinking about price and also have a few floating about)

Well, when they say separate HDD, they mean, a shop-bought 360 HDD. They are relatively expensive. If you want to go the illegal route and make your own wih your spare HDDs, you need to hope you have a WD Scorpio 2.5" drive and the program HDDHackr.
