Hi guys, first time posting this. I been looking for a cheap Xbox 360 arcade console, depending on what you want, I know Amazon are doing it for £125 and for an extra tenner you can get the Entertainment pack with additional controller and Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones games.

However, I just wanted another normal Xbox standalone console (whilst my really old one gets replaced by MS) with HDMI port. Anyways, went into HMV in Milton Keynes centre last night, and bought the xbox 360 arcade console (this deal works with the Pro 60GB version too) and it comes with 2 free games, Sega Tennis and Project Gotham Racing 4 for free. Paid £127.22 for this.

Also same price with banjo kazooie in Tesco. Only one game I know but I also know which I'd prefer.

this is mental. My xbox just got one ring of death on it. It would cost me £78 to have it fixed, and your telling me i can buy a new one for 127.22. Gotta love this deal.

Funny, was just looking at this on their website as my current 360 has been having disc reading issues: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?sku=729486

Can't you send back to Microsoft for a repair/replacement?

My sons did this i told them it was showing 3 flashing redlights (not 1) after 30 mins of use, it was just under 3 years old, and the repaired it FOC :) (they fitted a new motherboard)

Also bear in mind that HMV are usually willing to swap the included games for alternatives. I was in my local store and they were willing to let me swap the two bundled games for £49.98 worth of 360 games of my choice, including the preowned section.

In the end I bought the 360 arcade plus:
Enchanted Arms (£11)
Lost Odyssey (£13)
Stuntman Ignition (£6)
Crackdown (£12)
Mass Effect (£13)

I paid the extra fiver and ended up with 5 games I wanted in the bundle instead of 2 that I didn't.

This is probably a really stupid question but .... if I bought this could I play people online if I have a wireless router, the same as you can with the PS3?

Not a stupid question at all. The answer however is no. You need to have some way fo connecting to your wireless router as the Xbox 360 doesn't have the necessary hardware built in. The most convenient solution is the official Xbox wireless network adaptor, liek the one shown here or alternatively you could buy a a wireless ethernet bridge (this is what I did) which is much cheaper but may be a bit more difficult to set up.
