A cheaper way to do it is to buy a £100 voucher (2 of them in total) in 2 seperate transactions - this will give you an aditional 2 x £10 of vouchers.

Then use the £220 of vouchers to buy the Xbox - and you will get another £10 voucher.....

Making it £190 which for an arcade and 5 games is hot.

Even so - the games are nothing special. If you want backward compatibility or want to play online then I'd get a premium/pro

Adey - you may want to edit the title to say "£219 or £190 using vouchers"

I didnt put vouchers up mate because there not 100% its all down to the store manager not all stores let you do it

Fuzion Frenzy 2 is the worst 360 game ever made but the rest of the games are decent.

better put £200 using vouchers as most people dont get £10 vouchers when they pay using vouchers.

They're actually some of the best, but hey! You've probably not played any of them.

I'd have to disagree with "some of the best". They're not rubbish, but they are old and nothing special for their time either. Also not mainstream, except PGR3, which arguably is rubbish.

It is a good deal - but remember the Arcade doesn't come with a hard drive, just a 256mb memory card.
#12
I bought one of these yesterday, and a Samsung 22" which accepts 1080p, and then downscales it to 1050p (running 1650x1050 rather than 1920x1080)they have for £249. Got the HDMI lead from Wilkinsons next door - £4.99 (yeah, like I'm going to pay £14.99 for an HDMI lead, considering all HDMI leads display the same quality!) ;)

Anyway, to answer a question from above :

'do the games come as a pack or all in own dvd case?'

Yes, they do. The 'extra games pack' comes with 5 Xbox cases held together by a strip of plastic - so you are getting 5 original Xbox 360 titles in seperate retail packaging.

I also think that the games are pretty good. Project Gotham Racing 3 is excellent for a driving game. Viva Pinata is excellent - but I can appreciate it won't be everyones cup of tea! Kameo - well, I've not really started it. I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy series of RPGs, but will give it a shot. Fusion Frenzy 2 I've not tried, I'll give that a blast later. Apparently it's a bunch of mini-games, which I tend to quite like.

Some of the arcade games are actually pretty good - but are very much 'freebie' games. That doesn't make them less entertaining - but does make them 'smaller'.

BTW if you get this deal and i will match you up with exsiting owner to will help you apply for another 10 free xbox live games

Uhhhh???
There's no such HD source as a 1050p though?
You might find that your screen downscales to a 720p signal or even a 1080i

i think the problem here is mainstream = sells well.
Microsoft's previous attempts at 'kids games', Blinx, Voodoo Vince, Grabbed By The Ghoulies as examples all tanked in sales terms.

And although Viva Pinata did quite well and has its own TV show, it's not the big kid game MS were expecting it to be (better than my examples above at least)
Although they've just released the PC version of the game (and to celebrate have gone down the kids toy route at Burger King)

One line reviews again!

Pacman - It's Pacman. Wakka wakka wakka etc
Uno - It's Uno. (Recent update on Xbox Live adds support for the Scene It! Controllers)
Feeding Frenzy 2 - Fast paced tamagotchi/puzzle game. Different.
Luxor 2 - Fire things at other things in a similar way to Puzzle Bobble.
Boom Boom Rocket - A cross between Bonfire night and Dance Dance Revolution (recent update on xbox live adds support for Guitar Hero guitars and dance mats)
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved - Eye-melting game similar to asteroids. Brilliant little game.
Wik: Fable of Souls - Even I can't explain this one well. Use your tounge as a swing or something.
Bejeweled® 2 - You probably have this on your phone (colour matching brick game)
Outpost Kaloki X - Strange little game that has a surprisingly long play time, essentially it's 'Theme Space Station'
Hardwood Backgammon - It's Backgammon!
Texas Hold 'Em - It's Poker!
Kameo - Made by Rare, slightly overrated launch title (still good game nonetheless)
Fuzion Frenzy 2 - Mario Party's visually and mentally challenged cousin (mini games set in a Running Man fashion, without AhhhhRnnnold and the bloodshed)
Viva Pinata - Rare's finest moment on the 360 so far. A bit like Animal Crossing and Pokemon minus the Nintendo.
Project Gotham Racing 3 - It's racing. It still looks pretty good, but PGR 4 is out now.

Perfect for kids who prefer loads of games on Christmas Day rather than the one you know for a fact they won't play.
And if they're still not happy trade the games in!

Still a pretty good deal all things considered, the memory card is big enough to tide you over until you get onto Xbox Live and decide whether you need a hard drive or not.

And although the 2 discs the Arcade games are packed onto aren't worth much themselves, to buy those 11 games individually on the Xbox Live Arcade would cost 7200 Microsoft Points (£61.20)!

Of course, it's all opinion, you can't argue that something is rubbish if someone else loves it.

PGR3 is great, especially for a launch game and is immensely playable, Viva Pinata is one of my favourite games, Fuzion Frenzy is average but can't sniff at it, Kameo looks gorgeous and is fun to play.

Plus, I bought these games and are also some of my favourites:

Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, Wik: Fable of Souls and Outpost Kaloki X. Boom Boom, Geometry and Outpost are awesome games, original and fun. So yes, I would say there are some of the best games available on the 360 with this pack. :)

Indeedy, I don't think Viva Pinata was mainstream (which I term to be something that appeals to all or the majority), but it was certainly appealing to me and to kids too I imagine.

Mainstream to me is Scene It!, Singstar, Guitar Hero, Buzz, FIFA, PES, Halo..

No one said there was a 1050p source (even though there is), he said it was 1080p and scales down to 1050p (which simply means 1680x1050 progressively).

No, how would it scale down to 1080i on a monitor? Monitors are progressive - please, leave this alone as you're not getting far with this at all.

people are saying their rubbish here but you gotta remeber arcade retails at £200 anyway, i think this is a really good find especially for an xmas present, especially for a child as yur gettin 14 full games thrown into the pack for them to play on xmas day. i know i wudnt turn my nose up at that even if 10 are arcade games, there still the full versions of them games, and some of them are really good. Good find, voted hot.:)

You get the same level of backward compatability and online capability with this machine as you do with the premium. The only difference in the new SKU is the lack of a hard drive which is desirable but not essential for casual gaming use.

A lot of those games are very good but it depends on your taste. If you are buying this machine for kids this Xmas then most of them are ideal and give a good range of games for all ages. If you are buying because you want to play Halo or COD4 then buy a bundle with that game.

A hard drive is essential for backwards compatibility according to the MS FAQ. Emulator software has to be installed on your machine.

Q: Can I use a Memory Unit with backwards compatibility?

A: No, except for storing your Xbox LIVE profile. Original Xbox games are not able to access the Xbox 360 Memory Unit. Also, the original Xbox Memory Unit is not compatible with Xbox 360.

You could sell all those games and pick up a hard drive with the cash = Premium with a memory card minus a network cable, wired headset and component lead for £200
