Just saw this on xbox.com.

Will be sure to pick this up for that price (works out at about £6.80, better than the original 1200 at £10.20!)

Noooo!!!! I only just bought this 2 weeks ago after holding off for ages.

Still, it is an excellent game so I don't regret it and I definitely recommend it.
#5
I agree, great game! Heat!

Great game, I've been stuck on 185 points with it since I first got it though because I can't bring myself to try the speed run.

Hot.

Love the demo, was pondering whether to purchase it for sometime.

Finally a reason for me to get my 1st 2100 MS points

Top game, be prepared to pull your hair out in frustration though. The levels look simple enough but when you have to manipulate time to complete them it get's a bit messy. I never did finish it!

Really great soundtrack too, suits the game style perfectly!

Hmm, been thinking about getting a gold membership for a while now - this would make an extra incentive for doing so. This is probably a stupid question but would you get that price if you were using a gold trial (think I've still got one hanging about that I've not used)?
#16
Cheers, I was going to buy this with the 2100 card I ordered from Amazon. Great timing.

Oh how I wish Microsoft had the same shop system as steam. I just can't justify paying £15 for points when I only want this game :(

While it's slightly less value for money, you could pay £8.50 for 1000 points straight from xbox.com

Was about to post something similar - you can get the points in blocks of 500 for £4.25 from the website

....just got to hope that R-Type is one of the Deals of the Week.....I can't imagine how many 10p's I pumped into that as a teenager!!!!!

Slightly off-topic, but if i buy an xbox live game, can all profiles on my console play it or is it limited to the one account? ive never bought one before as I always thought they were way over-priced, especially when you can get full release games for less money second hand.

Microsoft are such rip-off merchants. I've got 500 points, if I want to buy this I've got to buy another 1000 points instead of 300 like you can on PSN

2 posts above you someone just said that you can buy 500 for £4.25 from 'the website'. So, maybe you only have to but 500 more to get the game...

I thought on PSN each time you want to add funds to your wallet, you have to put in a minimum of £5?

Minimum of £5 on PSN, PSN doesn't use points. Microsoft allow you to buy 500 points.

If you don't already own this I am disappointed...

I must admit that I didn't see there was a second page when I posted. I just checked and indeed there's now a 500 points option. Don't remember there being one before, there still isn't on Live Marketplace on the 360 itself.

Oh ****- I bought this just yesterday for 1200! I think I deserve a 400 point refund.
As for the game itself- it's pretty good and I'm really struggling to figure out some of the puzzles, but if you keep it them and solve them they're really rewarding (anyone that uses a walk-through for this game shouldn't even be playing it!) The new-age style music is fantastic- without it I don't think people would rate Braid nearly so highly.
#28
Nearly bought this after really enjoying the demo, I am getting it now, thanks for posting, I think I love you.
#29
Brilliant game if your good at puzzles - the feeling you get for completing the game is amazing --- if you cheat you will regret it

Great game. Best XBLA game ever.

To answer the question above, any profile can play the full game on the console it was downloaded on, however, if you have a replacement hard-drive (like me - 20gb to 120gb), and you transfer XBLA games to the new harddrive then the purchaser must always be signed in to Xbox Live to play them. Also, I have noticed some games won't work when you upgrade the hard-drive, for example, the two original Sonic games don't work as full games even if I re-download them.

Sorry to go off topic!

The downloaded game licences should be associated with the console itself not the hard drive, so as far as I know it's only when you change your console (as I did when I replaced my first console with an Elite) that you need to be signed in to Xbox Live to access them.

If you have changed your console, you should be able to transfer the licence across to the new console to avoid the need for signing in (and also allow you to play the games when XBL is having one of its regular down times). I did this a while back and I can now play all content on my newer console without having to sign in.

you're right. Braid and Sonic were the two I had problems with too. The others all worked fine.

Probably not. I used a trial code when the free gold-only Guitar Hero downloads were on, but it didn't actually upgrade me to Gold membership, I was still listed as silver, but with the ability to play online.

damn this game is short, bought it tonight, played it a couple of hours and I'm already half way through! Starting to think maybe I should have gotten a game with some replay value :S

Agreed- I've played it for two nights and am only 3 puzzle pieces away from completing it! Although figuring out how to get these last pieces could take several days! The game has zero replay value and while I wouldn't say it's not worth owning, I can't understand why all the reviews and gamers rate Braid as such a great game. I'd personally recommend Puzzle Quest instead, but to each thier own.
#37
Heat added i bought it at full price when it came out
#38
damn i want this but my xbox just got 2 red rings and no longer turns on :(

under 2 months out of warranty as well - Microsoft will only fix for free with 3 lights :(
#39
Sweet, I too didn't bother purchasing it because of the price, but now I will. From what I remember about the demo it seemed a bit deep about regrets and stuff..!
