this is the new core isn't it?

how does that work out, as to paying £199.99 for a Pro then these games on top
#3
i think its replacing the core, but comes with 256mb memory which is enough if not going online, plus the games u get free...and the hdmi connection... £200 for the console on its own is a bit steep maybe since you can get old premiums for £200 now...but the deal with the 3 games is good...

i was getting all 3 games anyway from gamestation before the half price pes..and would have spent £120, and getting the xbox 360 for family i was intendint to get a new one for around £200...so has saved me £70...

70 quid might be saved but no hard drive

the shopto deal is far better in my opinion
#5
if your not going online u dont really need the hard drive so depends what you want really...this was the perfect deal for me personally
#6
maybe 2 of these games will be in the pc world hush hush 2 for £60 off...

think its PC World, unsure...

wasn't having a go at the offer btw was just questioning its value

oh yeah i know..its cool everyone has their opinion, this was the best deal for me, and may be for someone else, its not going to be for everyone..

You can buy 3 games for under a £100 + quidco as well if you look around, so this basically works out about £155 for the console, which is basically the old core (no harddrive, headset etc) but they've now added the HDMI connection, Wireless controller instead of wired and they've also added some free downloads, which are worth around £13 if you bought the points.

If you buy this bundle, you will still need the harddrive (especially to download the free games included), which you can buy for £45 from Woolies and a headset, which you can grab for about £12 and that would make it similar to the Pro model (£155 for the console after the games have been taken out and £57 for the additional accessories) which means you're paying £212 for the Pro version and being forced to buy 3 games now.

It is a good deal but I've given the basic breakdown above of how to get it cheap as possible regarding the harrdrive and headset but I think it would be wiser to buy the Pro console (V2 version) from Shopto for £200 including next day courier and then get the games when you're ready, which would workout about £300 in total.

Voted hot anyway because it's the best price for people that are looking for the Arcade/Core version and not everyone wants to play Xbox Live, even though that's the best feature about the Xbox 360.

EDIT: Actually, I forgot about the new internal memory of 256mb, so quite possibly, the downloadable games will fit on there, so it's not essential to buy the harddrive until you're ready. :)

yeah i agree if your wanting apremium its not the nest deal maybe...but this console i was buying for a family member who will not be using live , at least for a long while...good for kids etc....and like i said i was buying these games for christmas...so for me..i got £320 worth of presents for £250.... if your already about to buy these things...its a great deal....

if your wanting a premium and no games...its obviously not a good deal for you....

I think the games are pre-installed anyway so no need to download them? Wouldn't make sense to sell the "arcade" version with free downloadable games and force people to buy the hard drive so they could actually do so:thumbsup:

As far as im aware they are on a disc...that was the impression gamestation gave me when i rang them....maybe like the live arcade game???
#12
yeh they're all on disc.

the Arcade package is a smashing deal for the people who want a console similar to the Wii or PS2, when it comes to playing with poeple in real life as oppossed to online.

Plus you have the option of sticking a hard drive in later, but to be honest it's really not needed as you can store music and videos on a computer!

thats mainly what this deal is good for.....anyone wanting a premium aint gonna go for this deal anyway...its obvious...i have a premium myself as i love to play online and im always downloading demos etc.....but for younger kids and ppl that just want to play the games, i think its good...as u do get some memory, some games, and wireless controller......personally i wanted a premium and thats what i got....but i bought this deal for my partners 14 year old sister, and the games my partner was buying me anyway...so it saved us in the end....anyone wanting just a basic 360 and a few games will deffo save on this bundle...
