Seems a good deal; two great games with the Xbox 360 Arcade package for a decent price especially if you plan to buy these two games anyway (worth about £40) so makes the Xbox around £170!

Gets you £5.25 in reward points as well. 3% Quidco = £8 ish. Puts the total price down to under £200!

Quick question; how much space do things like halo maps and saved games take up? Is this fine for playing on xbox live? I realise its not as good as a HD but money is a bit tight and this seems a pretty good deal! Thanks

I think you need a harddrive for any downloadable maps as they are too big for a memory card and you defo need it for CO-OP play over live.

The map pack available on Xbox Live is 487MB.

The 20GB hard drive costs about £60-£70 new. If you're quite into gaming and you're going to be using the 360 often, it's definitely worth saving up for a Pro/Premium instead. For example, for £40 more than this deal you can get a 360 Pro with 20GB hard drive, 2 games, and an extra wireless controller. The Pro comes with a component cable too, so you'll be able to game in HD assuming you've got a HDTV. The Arcade only comes with a composite cable.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good deal for the Arcade, but the Arcade itself is not value for money in general IMO (if you know what I mean).

Arcade is good as a starter console & comes with the 2 of best games currently available IMO :)

The console itself will connect to XBOX Live out of the box as it comes with a memory unit [256MB] & 1 month of XBOX Live Gold Membership. But hard drive is definatly recommended - pick one up cheap on ebay or look around for deals [if your thinking of renting movies, downloading a lot of map packs & arcade games, i'd say get a 120GB HDD] :)

The Gears of War map packs [x2 - both Free] take up 329MB
& The HALO 3 map pack [x1 - 800 Microsoft Points* until Spring 08] take up 487MB

hope this helps :)

*800 Microsoft Points = £6.70

get the premium don't get the arcade. it's a false economy to buy the arcade.

the asda deal - £229 for premium with burnout paradise and fifa street 3.

We got this yesterday, think this might be the last day of the deal. But you could trade these games for halo 3 etc. have already traded fifa street 3 to put towards getting xbox live gold.

seemed like the best deal about...

Thanks for all the replys alot of help! (rep left) Am still tempted to get this and then buy a HD later in the summer when I can work more to afford it, can't really stretch to a pro at the mo especially as the only thing extra from the pro package I would want is the HD. I'm gunna play it off my monitor so i don't need the component cable.

Another quick question; Does anyone know if the non-official VGA cables vary from the official ones?

I don't think the cables vary much. I've only really had experience with 2. I had a branded one and then replaced it with a cheap unbranded one from ebay. So far I've not been able to tell a difference.
Voted hot, good deal. I never download content, and even with one arcade game stored, my memory card is half empty (512MB card).

Gears of War looks very nice, but I didn't really find it that compelling. Horses for courses I guess.

There's much talk of a 50euro price cut on the Xbox360 for next Friday - if true could be some nice bargains in time for Easter!!
