Does yours have a 175W power supply or 205W (i think) as it may be that these arent new Falcon ones given no HDMI?
#2
If it's component and not HDMI, I suspect it's non-Falcon. (The Falcon model, for the uninitiated, is the new 65nm chipset unit which is less prone to RROD'ing, ie. dying.)

Just something to keep in mind.

Anyway, i've read that just recently, ie. this week, if your non-Falcon model RRODes on you, MS will fix it with the new Opus chipset.

These do not carry the 1 year warranty and the 3 year warranty will only be from the mfr date on the back so they may only have 2-3 months warranty on the red light problem.
#4
Non-HDMI models are all pre-Falcon, but to add confusion, HDMI came out about 2 months before Falcon, so early HDMI models are unlikely to be Falcon anyway. There may be some clearance deals on 20Gb (both old and new units) 360s at some near point as the release of the replacement with 60Gb as standard nears. Mine's managed to not RROD yet, 12½ months since I bought it, touch wood!

The 60gb version has only been confirmed for the US and not europe so we may not get for a while yet. Most shops are just clearing out stock as the Summer is slow for the games industry.

I'm pretty sure that they will have the 3 year warrenty if you registar the console when you purchase it

If it doesn't, these bundles came out Oct 2006, which if you are correct gives at least a year and a bit warrenty

Hmm seems like someone has jumped onto your find and made a duplicate thread after you posted yours mate?

I got one from Comet a few months back and they stated that they were being sold cheap as they cannot give warranty as Miscrosoft sold them cheap to them without warranty.
You can buy new HDMI version Premiums for £179.99 With full warranties from certain shops (Games Connection in West Drayton).

ALL 360's bought in the UK carry 12 months warranty... it's UK law! Don't let them tell you otherwise!

The warranty is with the RETAILER, not the maunfacturer... MS offer a 3yr RROD warranty, AS WELL AS THAT offered by the retailer, and IIRC, it runs from the time you register it... The main, 12 month warranty, is, in this case, with Tescos, and they cannot back out of it!

It the LAW!

Get a hdmi one ,at 1080p my arcade 360 from play.com is unsurpassable! Quieter, cooler+ hddvd is as it should be.
#11
I think you will find you will get 3 years warranty on RROD on these if you register for the warranty on purchase. At the end of the day as long as you have prrof of purchase from a major retailer on a new console I cant see any possibility of MS refusing the 3 year warranty on RROD.

Ring them up and find out for sure....

On a side note its a good price at the moment considering you get a game BUT no hdmi, no Falcoln chip set and I think the 20gb model will be around this price anyway come autumn. MS are almost certain to drop the prices across the board and yu can already pick up this model for around £160 online anyway...

So if you can wait I would do all the big titles are out post September this year anyway on the 360.

£125 for a premium + game is a steal - plus you can get 1080p over component, just no upscaling :)

btw: i'd get Gears of War - simply one of the best games i've ever played - still playing it 1.5yrs on :)

Yeah you're right although I think that's all New 360's bought from UK retailers carry a 12 month warranty. I'm pretty sure they can get away without a year's warranty if it's refurbished or they sell it on auction (not buy it now) through an eBay store.

These are new though so nothing to worry about
#14
Bargain.

You can still get a VGA adaptor for game and dvd upscaling. 3 year warranty for RROD as well, if it does **** up then you are covered (and hopefully you'll get one of the new Opus boards as a replacement, be a hell of a lot more reliable)

Hi Mate....your machine has a 12 month warranty with Comet.....and an additonal 24 months with MS if it gets the 3 red lights of death problem.

Easy thing is to phone MS in 18 months or so and tell them that you have 3 red lights....they'll have it collected from you FOC...and 99% certain you'll get a newer model with another 12 month warranty.

Don't let Comet fob you off though...keep your receipt cos you DEFINITELY have a 12 month warranty.

True that. Buying a legitimate, new X360 ALWAYS comes with 12 months warranty.

#18

#19

#22
None in Tesco Norton... seems to just be a Kingston Park thing.... Shame it's over an hours drive north of here. :-(
#23

I have spoken to the XBOX careline and they confirmed the 3 year warranty is from the mfr date on back of the machine. Also they stated these clearance machines may not have 1 year standard warranties as they are clearance, which is why they are discounted.

I repeat: THE LAW says that new items, clearance or not, bought from a UK retailer, have a 1year warranty. No if's, not but's, it's the LAW.

I have no idea where you are getting this info, but I'll go by the law, not what someone says on an internet forum....
#26
Exactly 1 year warrenty is uk law they refuse you sue then its 3 years extra from purchase for your rrod nothing else.
