pity it covers up the hdmi port :( wonder if it rus of the xbox power supply or has its own.
#2
Is this the one that causes your 360 to die a premature death?
#3
just rip your most played games to the hdd, keeps the noise down to, bonus.
#4
great price, but pretty pointless IMO.

you cant even use the w/less adapter/bridge or the HDMI port with this.
#5
abomination

If it stops working then yeah, your xbox will be hotter than the sun and die
#6
if this stops working your xbox will die, if it is powered through same lead your xbox is powered with it could die and it also voids the warranty so for the sake of a pound id rather not get my xbox ruined.
#7
maybe I am missing something but:
This adds extra noise, little proof it works very well and voids your warranty. Would it not be better to not use this and if your xbox 360 does break use the warranty (3 years I believe)

Voted cold, don't put your Xbox 360 in a cabinet, leave plenty of air around it, if you have an older 360 and bought it from a decent store like Gamestation and its under warranty, get them to swap it for a newer unit like I did.

If you already have a newer, cooler, and quieter 175W Falconed 360 then really there is nothing more to do other than ventilate it and now install your games to the hard disk.

Follow these rules and they make no more noise than a PS3 and ventilated dont generate any more heat than a PS3.

Although this is a hot deal on price, its false economy, adds more noise, blocks the HDMI port and is potentially harmful to the 360 instead of beneficial.

Voted hot. Ive wanted to use vga for ages now but just havent had the money to shell out for the official one. Now I can use it without having to buy more cables.

That actually is probably the only good use of it, albeit the extra bulk on the back of the 360, just ensure if you do buy it you dont use the fans.

A tidier solution would just be to buy a 360 vga cable

You can of course pick up 3rd party vga cables for a lot less than the official

only a complete numpty would buy imo

That's really bad advice !

If you don't use the fans on this unit then all you've done is dramatically reduce the airflow of the 360's internal fans, which will overheat the console in no time.

ok lets get some facts straight here
i've had one of these for over a year and it hasn't killed my 360
you can still use the wifi
it comes with all the breakouts you could want for audio/video
works great with vga
#15
Just after buying 3 of these, for the conection alone it is well worth the price.
Voted hot.

"VGA Connections will provide you optimum High Definition picture quality on your TV"
Am I missing something. I thought an HDMI connection would be the optimum quality. Can someone comment on this pls.

How do you know what 360 you've got without going inside?
Is there any way of know?

The power rating on the supplied Power Supply :)

Voted cold, you'd have to be mad to fit this to your 360. Do you really think a 97p device is better than all the design and development that went into the 360? The idea of these things is just flawed as it covers the biggest area of ventilation. These have been proven to fail (even the best ones) If you have one and it hasn't failed then good for you, you're lucky. I'd rather just use my warranty as it was intended.

If your warranty has failed and you are worried then replacing the internal fans with some high quality fans would be a far better idea and only cost a few quid more.

easiest way to tell is if the power brick has the words 175W then its the new model, or if its manufactured before Oct 2007 then its probably the old version.

Crikey only just took a look at how big that unit is, just goes to show with these things just how cr*p they are, not only do they cover the original fan vents, they also give you the option of switching off their own fan, whilst blocking the air flow from the 360s dual vent fan.

lmao, why in gods name would you want to turn the fans off? wat idiot designed this!!???
kind of a no brainer if you ask me.
Air flow = cooler components = cooler system = WORKING CONSOLE!

in 2 minds wether to go for this or not, simply for the vga :p

there's no way of switching the fans off on mine.
the switches are for configuring which video out you want to use, i've also put a thermal probe in mine with it running, and without it and it runs slightly cooler with it installed.

That last bit doesnt make sense???
Cant you just jam a pencil in there to stop the fans.
#24
what doesn't make sense?
i did some tests and used the thermal probe on my multimeter to read the air temp inside the 360 case both with and without this installed and it was slightly cooler with it installed.
