Best I could find looking around..

I'm tempted. Especially with PSN being down.

Its still £149.98 in my GAME store in Cardiff, but I know that's probably local only, so I'm not voting.

"I'm tempted. Especially with PSN being down."

I own a PS3 and a 360. The differences between the two consoles are so small - My advice is to be patient for PSN to return and only purchase the 360 if it has games you really want to play that aren't on PS3. I bought my 360 to play the first Mass Effect, Halo Reach, Gears Of War and Forza.

I'd not care if I had to lose one of the consoles... That being said, I tend to use the 360 more at the moment - mainly for Last.fm and Full House Poker.

Bit extreme paying £160 + XBL fees + more for new games just because the PSN servers have been down a couple of weeks.

Also, cold. Purely because of the fanboy statement.

I own both and i think
Xbox = Better Gaming Console
Playstation = Better Media center

As for paying for live at £30 for 12 months its worth it over the poor psn service.If psn added party chat it would be 10x better.Its silly you have to be doing nothing to speak to someone or you have to be in the same game/lobby. The bluetooth headsets suck compared to the xbox and it makes it harder with my last view.Also you can tell psn isn't paid for as it seems to be a lot more laggy in games. Also they can't even sort out the COD BO strict nat that people are having, me being one of them.I've tried the switching to MW2 but never works for me.

The party chat is a key feature, as i think there is nothing worse than playing Call of duty or fifa ect without speaking to anyone.I don't know how people don't use mics, on the ps3 it seems only a couple even have them in call of duty lobbys compared to the xbox which normally has 3/4 or more.

£160 against £250 is a big price difference, but you can see why its more.I brought both gaming consoles for gaming, i prefer the xbox as the online experience is second to none. At 57/58p a week its a steal. Based on 12 months costing £30.

The ps3 has 3d blu-ray, bbc iplayer,itv and c4 too.It also plays video ect better than the xbox IMO.

Both are sold as gaming consoles so the xbox wins on that front.

Its good value for money, if i had to choose one to sell it would be the ps3 because i thinking communication is key and i don't know how people can't speak as its just boring otherwise.

Just my view I own both.

Also sony have let people into private data, they will suffer a bit from this but we might not see it ourselfs. I know i am not happy that my name and address/ date of birth are in someones hands who may possibly use it to open fake accounts or creditcards. It should never of happened and every PSN user should have a right for damages if anything happens. I know my old account is a old address and a fake DOB but my current one i am pretty sure i put the correct info in.

If you like online gaming - get the XBOX - thank me later :)

Firstly, I have both consoles. I have Xbox Live, I also have Playstation+. One will get renewed. It's not Xbox Live. Why? I don't play online, don't care for playing with random people either (or talking to them on it, too much utter crap/loud music), and don't care for party chat (distracting from single/multiplayer games). I play on my PS3 more, because I have more close friends on the PSN than on Xbox Live, so if competing for trophies its more fun, better for lending games etc.

Media? Don't care, both are a bit crap. Yes, the PS3 has Bluray, which I use. Don't use 3D though, nor do I use iPlayer/ITV Player/4oD on the PS3. I have a cheap XBMC media centre, which does all the iPlayer stuff, and actually plays MKVs, unlike the 360 or the PS3.

PSN hacked? So was Shopto.net, the company you'd be buying this through. More than once. Lots of credit card details stolen that way. Play.com was also hacked and didn't reveal it for a long time. Sony are providing compensatory games, and a years ID theft protection through big companies. Shopto and Play provided... nothing.

Which console should you pick? Pick the one with the exclusives you prefer, pick the one your friends have for online play with them, pick whatever you want, just don't go bragging that its better than the other, because its a piece of plastic and silicon designed to play games on, and both do it pretty **** identically.

I somewhat agree and disagree.

The PS3 imo has the better exclusives, where as the 360 usually get priority for the more mainstream games such as CoD and FIFA.

The 360 has the better JRPGs and RPGs though, Tales of Vesperia and Mass Effect 1 alone are enough to beat any of the PS3 offerings, at least till the end of the year.

PS3 will always be preferred due to ITV / channel 4 / bbc iPlayer and the web browser for any other tv channels I need. I also buy a fair amount of blu rays as well. I'd probably use my 360 for media more often if I wasnt forced into paying for Gold membership to use a service I already pay £65 a month for (sky player), as well as Micro$ofts greed just being a general annoyance. Refusing to add BBC iPlayer as free for silver and gold XBL members was beyond a joke.
