Voted hot because it isn't cheaper elsewhere from a reliable site. Shopto are well known to have fraud issues and have broken the DSRs in the past with me.

Go on... I'll bite...

I'm aware of the credit card numbers being released to the criminal underworld (as I was one of the many affected parties), but what did ShopTo do (or not do) with regards the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations (2000)?

people may be voting cold because you can get it from places like argos and tesco for £189.99 yes its £5 more but it means if it breaks or theres any problems you can walk into an actual store whereas if you buy from shopto or the hut you have to send the item back

Yes I got hit by them whem I pre-ordered BIOSHOCK 2 it is funny how as soon as they processed the payment for it the very same day I got hit with the mobile phone top-up scam all within about an hour but luckily my credit card provider spotted it nearly straight away.

I've not had a problem with ShopTo. They may have released credit card numbers to the underworld, however a lot of foreign call centres who look after BT, Virgin, Aviva Insurance etc do the same and they know a hell of a lot more about you than ShopTo do. But you'll still buy from them right?

Are you 100% sure it was due to ShopTo's credit card processing service?

Do you just have your credit card registered with them (& nobody else)?

Why does such an action warrant mentioning the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations (2000) ("DSRs") like you did above?

Surely attempted fraud is attempted fraud regardless of whether your details were obtained via a mail order system or not.

Blimey! Which bank is your credit card issued from? Remind me never to ask for a card from them. My bank (The Royal Bank of Scotland) stopped a £400 transaction for foreign currency attempting to be purchased overseas.

Not sure about Sainsburys but Morrissons on Kirkstall road in Leeds had a sign out the front yesterday with this new console on it.. for £149.99.

It says XBOX Elite and i'm not sure if its an accident and they meant to be selling off the old elites.. I meant to go back today and check.

I would imagine thats for the old elites, this is a fairly standard price for them now.

My bank stopped mine too with a £600 transaction trying to buy a TV

I have mentioned it on a previous post for this new Xbox, but i'll say it again...

Does this Xbox not look any thinner than the old one? I know its got alot more features, but it is being described as the 'thinner' and 'leaner' xbox. If anything it looks bigger, but maybe that just me!

Still too big. If it had no brick it would be a guaranteed buy from me
#28
Problem is you can't swap your HDD between this new model and your earlier XBoxes. It might be quieter but my kids mates bring their own HDDs around when they want to play their games at ours. Can't do that if I swap out the downstairs 360 for the new model.
#29
Looking at those pics, not much difference. Certainly not enough to justify swapping my Elite.
#30
If the rumoured Sainsburys deal is true then I'll switch but if not I'll wait until a bundle appears making it a similarly good deal.
My Jasper Super Elite is barely 6mths old as it is so I'm in no great rush.
#31
Thos pictures just proove my point. The size difference is minimal at best. I can't believe this is a 'slim' version.

Why would a power brick stop you from buying a console? That seems totally irrational to me.

The Sainsbury deal is a rumour which turned out to be unfounded. The price has been confirmed on other forums to be £199 or £209 with a choice of games.

Luckily the console isn't called the "Xbox Slim" then ;)

Maybe I don't want something lying on the floor making my place look a mess? and because it doesn't really need one i.e. like the PS3

It has been advertised everywhere as the XBOX Slim you twonk!

I can't imagine a scenario when the power brick would need to be on the floor on display therefore I still don't think the power brick is a viable reason for someone not to buy the console.

Please find me one single retailer selling the "Xbox 360 S" as the Xbox Slim. You won't be able to.

Regardless of what you can "imagine" - I still don't want a brick for a power supply.
