Wasn't there some question over Sony honouring warranties on products bought via Ebay (even if they were bought from an outlet like Zavvi).....?

Just checking.

,,try it?

Pretty sure you have to buy it first then enter the code at the payment screen, from when I bought the PS3 on that offer.

Unless I'm being silly. Which is possible. :)
#18
no, requires instant payment, so purchase not complete until you have properly checked out
#19
Just tried it and it doesn't work.

Bummer but still a good deal. They were very prompt in delivering the PS3 I bought and it's brand new stock.
#20
Hmm very tempted, just got a RROD last week on my old arcade. Anyone reckon prices will drop further? Not in a massive rush to buy.
#21
Good price, heat added.

Thanks to all the members reposting this offer, just bumping the thread as a reminder that it's still available :)

Hoping for a decent bundle with black ops before VAT increase.. but hot for those just after console
#25
Is there any problems with ordering through eBay, why isn't it this price on their own website?

This seems like a good deal, but is it too good to be true??
#26
It's the Zavvy outlet which is (Clearance) As far as I know? No idea why they are clearance though if they are :D
#27
So, anyone see a downside with this deal? Spotted this on e-bay, only problems i saw were that it's clearance so may not come in retail packaging. I was also being a bit cynical and was worried that the controller and headset may not actually be included as there is no confirmation of it!

If it's all good, is this my best option for my first foray in to this generation of consoles?

Possible downsides are:
No high street shop to take it back to if it blows up
Full retail packaging is unconfirmed
Exact contents/condition is unclear

I am thinking about this deal before the VAT increase. A bit wary as I have bought many consoles over the years but never bought online before. Especially wary as this is an Xbox 360 we are talking about.

I guess that no one who ordered has received theirs yet as today is the first working day since christmas. I haven't been able to find any feedback for this item on eBay yet.

So I am thinking about it right now. Not ready to take the plunge and be a guinea pig just yet.

I am interested but right now there are too many unknowns for me.

Im also going to wait to hear feedback - I emailed them to ask about packaging. btw unboxed photo is the same they've used on main zavvi website - but reading threw their feedback - I dont exspect a reply.
#30
Well i asked them the questions i had and they got back to me today. Apparently it is retail-packaged, with wireless controller but no headset. Seems strange as doesn't the headset come as part of the standard package usually?

Am umming and ahhing now, quite tempted to go for the £199 PS3 deal too.

Ahhhh, decisions decisions!
#31
Seriously tempted, this seems an excellent price.
#32
stupid question i know but i googled too.... does the xbox360 play bluray off the drive or is it an optional extra add on drive? I am thinking about flogging my PS3 60GB and upgrading to the new 360 with kinect but use the ps3 for bluray a lot ....
#33
Mine just arrived. I can confirm it is in retail packing and contains everything as normal including headset
#34
That is good news, I hope I get paid tomorrow so I can order one asap :D
#35
Got this today - free delivery took 2 days, includes the full retail packaging, headset and the wireless controller.

I didn't really plan to buy a slim for some time yet as I still have an elite.
Lots of people have received theirs now and left feedback. Taking everything into consideration I decided to go for this after all. I did the buy it now in the early hours of this morning.
Not having a controller would have been a deal breaker for me. I don't think this will be this cheap again for a while when these have all sold out. I was thinking about holding out for £199 bundle deal with a good game that I don't already have. I don't really need any more games to be honest. With the VAT increase coming in a few days now is a good time to buy. Still a bit wary about buying a 360 online as opposed to a high street shop but decided it was worth the risk. I paid more than this for an elite 120GB 2 years ago.
No red ring of death with these slims but red dot of death instead is possible. Hopefully failure rate is very low but this is micro$oft we are talking about.

Does anyone know if Zavvi online will honour the warranty should you need to use it?

It's showing up as £204.99 now, Just checked a few seconds ago...
#38
its back to £174.99 - perhaps the 1 person who bought it at the higher price will get refund - mine should arrive midweek.
#39
Anyone else think that they decided to hike the price up when they saw that these were selling like hotcakes and when only 1 person bought one in half a day the decided to go back to the original price?

:)

That's what I thought originally :) Just glad you said it first !!!
