My first offering, A few pence short of the Boots deal but in stock :)

We all know what it is so I'll leave the description basic:

The Xbox 360 console will be the first next-gen console released and will fuse powerful hardware, software, and services to provide a dramatic leap forward in high-definition gaming and entertainment experiences.

Theres a £5 off £30 spend on the web..I dont know if im allowed to post it?

Also 3% cashback from Quidco making it £150.34

There is talk and rumour that the 360 will be dropping it's price in USA this Autumn, which may translate into a price-drop for UK either at a similar time, or soon after. The rumoured prices are £150 for the core, and £185 for the premium. Elite price was not mentioned. These rumours are based on an Microsoft exec saying that $199 pricepoint was a sweetspot in terms of selling a console (and people think he was refering to a price cut for the 360).

Here is the reference

I am just writing this, as this is a great deal, and shows that if anyone was thinking of getting a 360, it may not be worth waiting and seeing. (Just my two pence!)

Is definitely a good price at the moment - is difficult to say what's going to happen with the 360's price though. They could drop it at the same time as halo 3 being released and then just rake in the sales - also would be good time to drop with a core at £140/150 when GTA4 comes out and the only other way to play it is to spend £400 on a PS3.

However they could just hold price steady in the belief that big games coming out will sell the console whatever the price.

Not me.

Wasn't the boots offer closer to £126 once you had got triple points and quidco??? Shame it is not still available.
#13
I'l be getting one soon too, I want the HDD drive in it though (am I right in thinking that the core hasn't got one).

I'm thinking of waiting for the elite console to come out hoping they will drop the price of the normal console at that time?

worto.

I'm looking for a core but as someone said before, the boots offer which came down to about £124 is the one i'm waiting to see, alternatively someone could buy the premium and sell the hdd for like £50 as well as wireless pads??!??
#15
£199 for me when clicking the link?
#16
Showing as £199 now, Expired.

I'll probably get one in 12 months times but only for one or two games.

tbh, you really want the premium version with the HDD as you miss a lot of the online apsects of the 360 such as downloadable demos, clips, arcade games, extra maps etc. Alternatively get a core and buy the HDD seperately :) There are enough good games out at the moment (Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Shadowrun, Dead Rising, Oblivion, Forza 2, Saints Row, Crackdown, Rainbow Six: Vegas, GRAW 1&2, Guitar Hero 2 etc) and games on the immenent horizon (DiRT, Mass Effect, Call of Juarez, Darkness, Too Human (I have been waiting years for this and only a few weeks to go hopefully!!!), BioShock amongst many others) that unless you are prepared to wait months for a price drop of £20-£30 you may as well bite the bullet now and have a summer of quality gaming :)

The 360 has a large enough catalog of quality games to tide everyone over till the big releases later on in the year.

The core is the ideal replacement for people who've got dead xbox360's and aren't prepared to pay the £80-ish Microsoft want to repair them. At least you'll get a full 12 month warranty. You'll probably get the price difference back by selling the old/dead box on ebay.

Or

If you were one of the many who got their xbox's banned because they were modded :giggle: .

Plus, the wireless pads you get with the premium are so much better than the wired versions. Ever since the WaveBirds on the GameCube, I hate wires...

Roll oon affordable wireless power, and I'm in heaven!
