In-store in Zavvi (not online) they are currently selling the Xbox 360 elite package with 4 games and an extra wireless controller for £333.

The games are: Virtua Tennis 3, Viva Pinata, Forza 2 plus any game of your choice - so you can choose a chart game that normally retails at £45 / £50 and get it in the deal!

You also get a headset / microphone thingy and 1 month free Xbox Live Gold Subscription.

The only slightly annoying thing is that your extra wireless controller is in white rather than black but you can't have everything!

I looked in all the shops - Game, HMV, Gamestation, etc. - for the cheapest deal on an Xbox Elite and this was definitely by far the best deal I could find.

This deal is not featured on the Zavvi website but it is definitely available in store.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend this deal, but be aware that the second controller will most likely be white and Pinata/Forze boxed together, as per usual. For what it contains the deal is fairly inexpensive.

The second controller is white and boxed with the two games - but I did point out in my original posting that it was white

"any game of your choice"

I'm guessing they won't like it if you choose the Guitar Hero III with guitar package?
#4
+ student discount would make this £300

would virgin credit card work too?
#5
Also available on the Xbox 360 Premium at £283.

Pay with a Virgin credit card to get another 10% off - not automatic but if you ask they'll do it. Student discount no longer applies to hardware.

I doubt they'd let you have a Guitar Hero III with guitar but it's worth a try, depends on who's on the till I suppose.
#6
Should have tried asking for Guitar Hero :p

Should have also added you get the free 1 month gold xbox live membership too - but I think that's standard with their packages anyway!

You are right it is also available on the xbox Premium but I figured for an extra £50 might as well get the 120gb hard drive

The 120GB hard drive isn't particularly useful; I'd just save the £50 if it were me!

Either way, it's a pretty decent deal.

Yeah, you'd be better off with the premium. Better bundles available too.

I wouldn't agree. I've got an Xbox 360 Pro but upgraded the HDD to 120gig. My free space is down to 80gig so the 20gig wouldn't do.

For info I use my 360 for music, videos, and Xbox Live Video Marketplace along with the obvious games.

Ah yes, just me having my dunce moment for the day.

I've never used up my standard HDD and had the thing for about 2 years so don't really see the point in a bigger one.

The HDMI port maybe be useful though
#12
Very good deal there, voted hot.....
#13
I know the premiums at least have the HDMI ports now as well as the elite, not sure about the other ones.

HDMI as standard on Premium units now,
might be on the cores also but not too sure
good deal though voted hot!

EDIT: John_mac83 beat me to it!
#15
Cores should be pretty much discontinued now, but they dont have HDMI - however their replacement the 'Arcade' does have HDMI.

Anyone buying a 360 should double check that they are getting a HDMI version not any old stock that does not have it.

really stupid question. does the xbox 360 controller have a motion sensor like the ps3. Thats the thing I've been most impressed by with my ps3.
#17
My 20gig HD is always nearly FULL! what with game content (extra map etc) weighing in at 800mb and Demos are about 1.5 gig then add saves, themes, videos, trailers and it soon fills up. id kill for a 120gig HD!!

No, the 360 does not have motion sensing - it does however have rumble which the PS3 did not originally have and to get it you need to buy a new controller.

If you're impressed with that, then you'll love the Wii!

Woah! You do mean aside from for savegames don't you?!?
#22
My 20Gb HD is nearly always full to the point where I have to clear it of demo's every 2 months. A 120Gb would be handy because it would mean I dont have to re-download demo's that I fancy playing again but apart from that it's only really if use if you have a lot of music or films on it.

Then you'll certainly love the PS3 "head tracking" that was being shown off last week!!

Seems like a lot of money for an XBox. Can't you get a Playstation 3 for < £300 these days?

Yep but they don't like to admit it, anyway who says otherwise is labelled a fanboy. :)

How do you go about this? I thought the only way to get music stored on the 360 was to rip a CD, and I didn't realise that there was any way to store videos on it, other than temporarily housing marketplace videos...

I use my 360 for music and videos, but it's all streamed from my MacBook. 20GB is plenty of room for some demos, a movie rental and some game saves...

Oh joy the PS3 trolls are back, couldn't we get around to banning Spark and friends so that we can all enjoy the peace and quiet?

... and a fraction of the number of decent games.

.... we already have a PS3 in our household so this is a second new generation console for us so raspberries to you :p ;-)

Anyway, this deal isn't about whether the PS3 is cheaper - it's about the Xbox 360 innit!

I have to say, comparing the PS3 marketplace and the Xbox marketplace - the Xbox has a lot more stuff on it.

Oh, also in the Elite pack, you get a headset as I discovered when I opened it :)

tried this the other day to buy 360 + GH3 bundle
doesn't work
it says any game, GH3 bundle is considered as game and accessories so not included in the deal
you can however add £30 to get the GH3
