u would rather pay £9 more and get banjo kazooie deal, and sell the game off, which is probably better then the £9 youve paid for it in the bundle, which will leave you with a cheaper elite,

Also does anyone know if this is quieter than the regular 360? I had to put mine in the bathroom and connect it with a long lead last night when I was trying to watch a film last night because it was doing my nut!

By far the noisiest thing about my 360 is the DVD spinning, which it needs to do on all models, especially while watching a DVD - so no, not quieter enough. But rip the DVD to a Media Centre PC and stream it over the network and it's a lot more tolerable. I've recently discovered that you can install games to the hard drive (still prompts for original game disk at startup), but gameplay is a lot quieter like that.

Sounds good. How is it done? if you don't mind me asking. The saving game to disc bit

each 360 seems to be different my last 360 was quite noisy and could be heard during films if volume was low but my latest model is fine if you listen for it you can hear the fans at the rear of the 360 spinning no different to your pc etc...

If you dont mind modding you can replace the standard fans with talismoons whispers it will make a difference and is fairly easy to do, the first time you open the 360 is a bit tricky but once you have done it once its a piece of cake...

-First you need the New Xbox Experience don't know if you have that or not? If not connect your xbox to the internet and it will download itself.
-Having done that insert the game you want to install and go to the xbox dashboard.
-Scroll through the options until you get to 'My Xbox'.
-The first little window should show the game you put into the Xbox. Press the 'y' button and it will bring up a menu with the option to install to hard drive and voila.

Should take a few minutes and you will need the disk to play the game however the volume of the console should be no louder than a laptop or PC, (Mine isnt any louder when playing from the hard drive) it might also reduce loading times on some games, not entirely sure on that one though but Far Cry 2 seems to load faster for me. This feature is great but it will make you realise how small the 20GB hard drive actually is.

I read in the Metro (London free paper) yesterday that there is an article that the XBOX has a new CPU chip and is in production and ready to come into stock. So customer will get the new chip Xbox as soon as the old stock runs out. The new chip gets rid of that rumoured "red ring" and overheat? Here is more infohttp://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/tech-news-feeds/129797-xbox-360-elite-borked.html , not sure if this is all true stuff though.

The next 'gen' of xbox 360's have apparently received several hardware changes. Microsoft for some reason won't come out and just say exactly what they have changed but it's widely believed that the new motherboard contains smaller graphics chips which will allow it run cooler.

There is also a confirmed update for the Arcade version of the 360 which will now come with a 256MB flash card built in. This is so you can download the New Xbox Experience which is 128MB. Although I would have thought you could have done this with the external memory.
