I've heard $189.00 for the top end kinect. That should be around £140 this side of the water. A lot of money for a posh eye toy.

But you can use that on 4 people. PS move for 2 people works out costing more.

Great price! Great find. Heat up!

True
#13
I'm guessing it's *very* unlikely anything cheaper will come out any time soon?
#14
I never understand why people buy a slightly redesigned model of something they already own. Just seems like a waste of money to me.

I suppose the wifi included is nice but again I'd assume any 360 owner who wanted that already paid for the over priced add-on anyway.

No you need an Xbox Live Gold subscription, but don't worry because when you make a new account on your shiny new Xbox 360 you get one month for free.

You can get a 12 month subscription for around £28.

Especially one which seems to have a lot of new issues of it's own and they have only just (finally) sorted the classic model out.

Well once they sell their old console, its cheaper.

Few other advantages/improvements apart from wi-fi:
250GB HD (Compared to the 20/60/120gb they will currently have)

New Technology - i.e. 45nm CPU & GPU, means a more efficient (reduced power consumption), cooler, quieter and more reliable console.

Also the first generations of xbox 360 are almost guaranteed to fail. I would imagine people would be interested in the new design for that reason alone. Plus a lot of them have failed leaving many owners out of warranty and who are likely to buy this.

Smaller and better looking (Actually don't like the look of it much would much rather have a PS3 slim in my living room any day)

And then there is the psychological benefits of having something new and shiny :p

I think it makes a decent upgrade for those who play their xbox 360 a lot and have a bit of disposable income. I won't be buying it but I can understand why others are!
#23
ive got an elite (new chip) i wonder what trade in game etc. would give me, along with a wifi (white) adapter?

i would upgrade for if the price was minimal
#24
I only upgraded to a 250gb elite model last christmas. Nice MW2 design even if the game is a bit *****. Got a 3 year warranty on it until November 2012 so will probably never buy this. I'm pretty sure MS will have a new console released by then. As in a true successor to the 360, not a revision. This is still a good deal for those looking to upgrade from a model owned between 2005-2008 though. I'm pretty certain that most models from that time period have exploded at least once. (Explode as in RROD or E74 error etc)
#25
Cracking price. Think I'll go down the trade-in route with game or HMV though. As a 360 elite owner who is short on hdd space, has a console out of warranty with a rrod at xmas last year, and is without a wifi adapter, 99 of my hard earned pounds doesn't seem like a bad move. Interesting to see if HMV beat game on the trade in values seeing as game publicised theirs very early indeed. Hope they do!

H & R to OP for this though, good deal for an outright purchase. Coolshop had my preordered MW2 out to me before release, and FIFA10 arrived within 48hrs of ordering. Their service is very good in that if you find it cheaper they will pricematch without any aggro.

XD! I'm sticking to my 3GS now because of that huge flaw!
#27
What are coolshop like, I've never heard of them.... and it says in one of the reviews that they ship from Denmark? A Euro spec console would be mildly annoying...

Cheers,

HOT HOT HOT!

Now everyone cancel their ShopTo orders lol

I am still holding off until the Supermarkets release their normal competitive prices and I expect it to be around £169.99 or £159.99

Only thing I've pre-ordered from coolshop was modern warfare 2, and it arrived about 3 days before the release date, so I was happy!

I received my MW2 around three days earlier but they sent me a foreign copy... not impressed and wouldn't order from them again.

Decent price for the slim Xbox 360 but I'd rather wait for Amazon to do a decent bundle.

not voted, either way.

6 weeks ago I was told it would range between £50 and £60, but with the USD prices being thrown around, this looks unlikely.

Ahh they don't accept Paypal - dealbreaker :-(

Mine was all in English, it did say 'Not for sale in UK' on the back but made no difference to me. PS3 version
#37
mw2 is region free anyway wouldnt matter
#38
I'd love the new 360. But my 120gb Elite is working just fine (touch wood), so there's little point at the moment. I don't need wi-fi & have enough space left to keep me going. But I can see why many would go the upgrade route. I'd still wait though. I'm sure there'll be better deals over the next few months.

/wife mode on/ Well that's waaaaaaaaaay to easy derr...because it's black! Now i don't need to know that it only does "stuff" that the other perfectly functioning, 4 month old one does, I certainly don't don't need telling that "but it doesn't even have a blu ray player" either, what it is old son, & this is the crucial bit, is skinny...and as such it'll fit in the new black AV unit chief & will be out of sight... in the back of the net, get it bought fatboy!.../wife mode off/

More bloody money then...sigh...
#40
does anyone know if i cancel my pre-order from gamestation if i will get my money back ?

going to sell my elite on ebay or gumtree probs about £100ish .. then sell 4gb of my ram as i have 8gb which isnt needed .. get £50 for that then my £20 back from gs and add £10 :D jamming then get it back via quidco :)

Wooooop
