Good deal that.

Is This the best 360 Elite Deal at the moment?
#3
its the best one i have seen
gamestation offer an elite for 319.99 with any game of your choice but i wanted assassins creed and an extra tenner for the other two games and controller is a great deal

Nice deal. Voted hot.

is there a way to check if this has the 'new chipset' ???

how much are game giving for trade on an 360 premium against this, anyone know ???
#6
pretty good deal
its the elite with 1 game deal
plus you get the "wireless entertainment pack" eg forza and viva pinata and the controller for a tenner rather than the £30 that they go for on virgin or hmv etc
#7
Don't know about this, Viva Pinata can be picked up for around £10, is it really a game people wlll want.

Save £20 and just get xbox elite - wireless controller and forza 2 from gamestation. then get viva pinata from some where else for cheaper.

Unfortunately there are better deals on the forum for elite console.
#8
you get assasins creed with this as well, not just forza, viva pinata and the wireless control

no way to check if this has the new falcon chip online, you could go instore and ask to check the boxes if you really want one, on the barcode if it says 175w it is guaranteed to be a falcon from what i have read

i think game are giving around £150 for a premium, not sure though as mine is off for repair, trading it in after it comes back

3% quidco?

Never used quidco before in my life, should this be edited into my original post
What exactly is quidco[:|]?
#13
and is the Reward card worth buying? £3 for £8.50 credit?

is the only difference between premium and elite the amount of hard drive. Is 20gb not enough? Ive no idea what this equates to. Would premium have enough storage for someone who is not a heavy online gamer?

Taken from another thread:
What is Quidco?
Quidco is a cashback site that pays you for shopping via it's site, so you can make savings on everday purchases.
'Quidco is the web's cashback cooperative. Quidco collects referral commissions from online merchants and passes them all on to our members. The Quidco cooperative is a cashback revolution where members keep their full earnings in exchange for giving Quidco £5 out of their earnings once a year.'

I already had the reward card, no point in buying it if you dont plan to buy anything else in GAME as the credit gets added to the card and can be used for online/instore purchases, if you do buy stuff from them regularly i find that it has saved me a bit of money

i would say the premium would have ample storage, i never filled my premium harddrive, i bought this because video marketplace is launching soon in the uk and if you are planning to use this the 20gb will not be big enough

yes :)

yes :)

So with QuidCo and that reward voucher, the effective cost is £315, now that IS tempting

i'm happy with my Core + 120GB HDD + HD DVD Drive & 30+ Games :-D

but this is a Hot deal > Heat added

Best Elite deal ive currently seen was on Bizits.

Ordered an elite with assassins creed, halo 3, pro evo 2008, smackdown 2008 and an additional controller for £318. Just checked and its now £338.

I was sceptical about ordering off them given the site, but it all arrived today a few days late all the less, but the owner was very apologetic!

I will definately be ordering again!

I reckon it is. I've just seen the new premium and that has component output as well as HDMI.

Blockbuster have similar deals:

http://www.blockbuster.co.uk/dvd/are_you_looking_for_xbox_360_games_/194197.htm

You can get the forza/viva/wireless pack for extra £20 when buying a console there. So for £319.99 get halo3 or fifz 08 with for £10 cheaper.
#27
Hmm this is very tempting. I would actually like AC and VP. Also the elite and an extra controller.
#28
While on the subject... anyone know if their local blockbuster actually have Elite? Keep having it on their website but my local says no stock nationwide. I do doubt that... :(
#29
i went to zavvi (virgin megastores) and got the same deal but with a premium for just £249.99 yesterday, or the elite for £299.99. it was meant to be halo 3 but they had ran out of copies so you could swap it for any chart game i chose assassins creed.
#30
This is a very good deal!! Heat added!

Is it possible to return the games back to GAME if you buy as part of a bundle? Would you get full price back if the games were unopened?

Seriously doubt it. Forza and Viva Pinata are the usual bundled games and come as a two in one pack with "Bundled Copy" emblazoned on the front. So it's not a standalone game, therefore secondhand value is affected.

Assassins Creed has been added to make the pack more attractive as it's a current hit title, but who'd want to return it? Just buy a pack without... for £20 less.

Just bought this today in Game with 175w Falcon chip. It was £339 but got £8.25 worth of game points and paid with my 4% cashback Capital One card for a further 4% off. My other half and son are delighted with it, but only thing they aren't pleased with is the extra wireless control is pictured in white but they hope when they open it its going to be a black one (I won't let them open it till 25th !! :p )

Just to confirm

this offer is available in store, or did you do the click and collect thingy?

also if you brought in store how many 205w did you have to go through to get a 175w?

Why does it matter whether it has the falcon chipset or not? I don't think people really understand what they are asking for. A slightly smaller cpu isn't going to make that much difference to heat output. I've had an elite since launch day and not once has it locked up or crashed, compared to my 3 precious premium 360 consoles that all regularly crashed and eventually died. Even if it hasn't got the smaller cpu they all have the extra cooling/heatsinks and quieter DVD drives as well as the 3yr warranty so don't worry too much about the cpu.
