I've looked around and this is the lowest online price I've managed to find that's still ongoing for the king of footy games by almost £5 and I can't see anyone beating this price to be honest.

The game is a preorder and should arrive on release date or 1 day before but this deal price is only valid for a couple days, so it's best to take advantage of it while they're still allowing orders, as I can't imagine a high allocation at this price.

Don't forget that if you use your collectors account, you'll also receive 6% cashback, making this a great deal.

Hope this helps. :)

I'll preorder with Game, use the £5 off £30 voucher, get £2 in reward points, making it £33, then get the 11% Quidco on top. Works out cheaper than SoftUK (although I appreciate that not everybody has the reward card), and I always get my preorders with Game the day before release.

What happened last time? :?

Bare in mind that Quidco is never guaranteed whereas the cashback scheme with Softuk is and the £2 in reward points doesn't really count as cash (thusly being more expensive) because you have to spend the money instore at inflated prices anyway but definitely a nice alternative. :)

SoftUK took far more orders than they could handle and a lot of people had to wait a very long time for their games.

I've always had the Quidco money from Game without a problem. The reward card can be used online and not just instore (I never shop with them instore due to silly prices but they do have decent deals online, and the vouchers and Quidco make a massive difference.)

Hi Kaj,

I would be keen to investigate your order as we did not encounter any problems with the supply or distribution of Pro Evolution last year. We took a large volume of orders and fulfilled every single one and on time. Official UK stock was received at the beginning of the week and was shipped so that everyone would receive on or just before the day of release.

I can assure anyone wishing to order this title that all orders will be shipped so that customers receive it on time and for the day of release.

Kaj - Please can you send me a PM with your order number or your full name so I can locate your old order for Pro Evo??

Kind Regards

Steve

I ordered PES 2008 for my bro from Softuk last year and he received it on time and I ordered my copy from Shopto and both arrived in time.

I pre ordered a game last year and had no problems whatsoever

Basically in Summary of what happened.

Ordered the game and then cancelled it.

Even thought I had cancelled it still got sent to me on releases day (to my wrong address)

Sent the game back to them and was told it would be refunded in full and for my postage as it was there mistake (both not cancelling the order and sending to the wrong address) once I sent it I rang up a few days later and confirmed with them that it had been received which it had. After this I received no contact from Softuk i tried phoning daily and emailing but never got a response, the only way I managed to get in contact with softuk in the end was when by chance I saw steven Wright on this forum and contacted via PM.

After I got in touch with him I finally received my refund in February this year over 3 months after i had returned the game!!!!

Hi Kaj,

This looks like an isolated incident from last year and I can assure you and anyone else that this can't happen due to a number of upgrades to our systems.

I would like to apologise for any delay you experienced in receiving your refund. Again I can assure you this WILL NOT happen.

Kind Regards

Hi Steve,

I also had a problem last year when ordering PES2008 where I ordered 2 copies of the game and was charged for 2 copies of the game but only ever received one copy (which was delivered promptly). I proceeded to email Softuk.com several times with no reply I also called the company on many occasions and my calls where never answered nor where my answer phone messages replied to. I have since given up on trying to receive my 2nd copy of the game or trying to gain a refund on the 2nd copy, due to the non existent customer service, maybe you could help me in resolving this issue Steve?

I find this strange for several reasons. This is your first ever post. We do not have any emails or issues on file relating to this. I find it hard to believe you have not seen me on this forum before now.......excellent timing for your post I must say!?!

I suspect this might be a multiple account holder or a friend of Kaj. Either way I have sent you a PM and informed Admin.

I hope I'm wrong!

Voted hot, this is the cheapest I've seen it. Still waiting on the demo though because the new fifa demo is excellent!

i can assure you, that you are indeed total wrong as i am a single account holder and i have no idea who djshirley is!!

still gonna wait for a sub £30 offer i think, we have til about the 12th of October to order and receive on time, so will wait til then and hope such a deal turns up!

PES used to be the best. Now I think Fifa 08 and 09 is and looks much better again. Shame I used to love PES, but the last couple of 360 versions have been poor IMO.

yeh i also ordered from softuk last year and didnt get it delivered

didnt get my refund either, i thought it was a fake site?

I feel Steven Wright posting on this forum as a representative for SoftUK is unprofessional. I would not expect it of someone like Gameplay, Simply Games, or Play.com. You have the cheapest price available for the game - leave it at that. Every company has a reputation, allow your customers to stand up for you. It's like a manufacturer selling a product on Amazon, replying to every negative review. Complaints & feedback should be kept between company and customer - it should then be the customers part to tell everyone what a brilliant job the company has done.

I think it's great to see companies trying to resolve queries online, even though the big boys aren't doing it, it shows that nice personal touch from the smaller companies showing that they care.

For as far as I'm concerned most of the image of an online company is to keep itself in contention with the 'big boys'.

If you can get Bill & Bobs Shop to look huge when they're only selling 2 or 3 things a day, then great! Their sales will rise rapidly. Challenging people on another websites forum is IMO unprofessional.

I'm not disputing that SoftUK are a good company - I've ordered several times from them. I don't approve of their methods of sales & ensuring the stature of their reputation though.

I don't want to take this thread away from it's purpose - this is a hot deal & the deal should be being discussed, not the reputation of a company.

It's far too easy to dig a hole for yourself on a forum. Anyway, each to their own! All I care about is my game turning up on time!

Definately getting this game but think Ill wait another week or so to see if there are any better deals. Bit concerned with the negative comments so if I decide to place an order Ill use my credit card so I can issue a chargeback if nothing turns up:thumbsup:

Just to clarify to the rest of the users I do not know Kaj and this is not a multiple account holder issue.
Steve and I will resolve this away from this thread and I will let the thread know of the outcome.

I ordered from SoftUK last year - PES2008 for the PS3 and received fantastic service.

Received my copy before launch - I actually phoned them up because of persistent (non) rumours on this site, spoke to a very polite chap who found my order, advised that it has already been processed and I received it as said before launch.

I cannot fault the service from SoftUK, and sure there will be a few issues due to the pure volume of orders for a popular game like this.

And I agree with realfriendlyman, it's good to see an online retailer coming online and giving feedback, at least trying to resolve issues!!!!!

It's a shame too many Noob's on here are quick to put the boot in!!!!!

I'll try them both.. but reluctant to preorder because of how poor the lag was on last years game. The football was great, but the online lag, poor graphics, atmosphere and lack of licences is getting too much to look past whilst fifa constantly gets better.

Fifa Is Much Better, Pes Has Gone Downhill, Will Not Be Ordering, Voted Cold Regardless Of Price. Does Anyone Know Of Any Cheap Pre Orders For Fifa???
Fifa 08 Was Amazing And The Online Functions Were Faultless, No Lagging Of Any Kind.

Looks good again this year, fixed all the bugs, got the online play sorted and UEFA champions league in there as well can't go wrong.

Fifa's demo seems very much the same as 08 only the players sprint faster as it's a little quicker all round.

fifa game play to fast, un-realistic! that's why they r no good. they just a rich company that can afford the advertisement and happen to have all the license for the player names and teams.

Did you play last years offerings? - PES8 was garbage - and the ONLY moan about Fifa 08 was it being a little slow......

After some investigating I have got to the bottom of your order, so for the sake of this thread I will try to keep this brief in letting people know the outcome.

Last year you made two separate orders roughly 5 hours apart, both orders for Pro evo 08 360. Both orders contained different billing and delivery addresses. Both orders were charged and dispatched the same day.

We have a detailed archive of all emails received and sent and no emails or correspondence was ever received from you asking to cancel or query the orders you had made.

On the 20 November we received a chargeback claiming a 'DUPLICATE' charge had been made on your account!

On the 19th December we provided streamline with the evidence to show two SEPERATE orders had been made and dispatched to you and the chargeback was successfully defended - to date we have NOT received any correspondence from you relating to this matter.

I have an unplayed version of 08 on the 360, it was so awful online it was a joke and Konami should be ashamed of releasing such rubbish. Not surprising that PE6 is still very popular on line.

I will still wait for a review of the online mode before buying though as it is a lot of money to shell out if it is ropey.

Wouldn't have a problem using soft either, bougfht some DS and 360 games from them without a problem, when I had an issue ordering a game last time I rang up and processed it over the phone and bunged in some free postage, spot on bit of customer service in my book.

Steve,

I requested the chargeback via my bank as I had no reply from softuk.com as previously outlined; I never had any further correspondence from my bank which is why you would have received no further correspondence.

The facts are
-I placed 2 orders for Pro Evo 2008 for Xbox360
-I got charged for two games @ £31.24 each on the 24th October 2007
-I only ever received 1 game
-I sent emails to [email protected]">[email protected] on 05 November 2007 @ 16:24:32 & again to [email protected]">[email protected] on 09 November 2007 @ 13:50:21, both of which with no reply.
-I made numerous phone calls which were never answered nor were my answer phone messages replied to.
-My bank then advised me to try and recall the charge but this led to nothing.
-I had since given up on ever receiving a refund for the game that never turned up until I noticed you on this forum and I am now utterly astonished that even though this conversation has gone public that I have still not be given a refund!!

Sounds like one got lost in the post, as they had been ordered at separate times and to different addresses.
Don't see why softuk would not have just processed a lost item with royal mail and refunded you to be honest..

This is and would be the normal procedure. However, the chargeback was received with no prior communication and was for a 'Duplicate Charge' and NOT 'Goods not received'.

The customer would have known full well that he had made TWO separate orders and a chargeback for a 'duplicate' charge should never have been raised! Unfortunately this is a method that some people use to obtain goods by deception by placing two separate orders and raising a chargeback for just one order.

With the facts that were presented to us at the time and the correspondence received from the bank we believed this was a fraudulent attempt to obtain goods. I would also like to make the point that a chargeback is not easily defended and it is only with good evidence and the banks agreement that such an action can be reversed - which it was.

With all this said and for the sake of others, I would like to bring this to a close by saying that we will refund DjShirley today.
