Xbox 360 - Gears Of War 2 only £3.00 Instore @ CeX (Used)
Thought £3 was a good price for this awesome game, as last time I was in CeX, it was a fiver!.Had plenty of stock in Aylesbury, no doubt due to the recent problems at Game/Gamestation, meaning more trade-ins, but obviously availability may vary in your local CeX store.

Agreed, particularly when it's IGN who, in no way, take backhanders for good reviews..

+ £2.50 delivery. This also trades in for £6.40 at Game/Gamestation with their current offer.

Sorry, I didn't realise that CEX charged for delivery on online orders. That's a bit of a rare thing with online UK DVD/game retailers these days and I seem to remember than offering free delivery on everything a while ago.

Sorry, I only added the IGN rating because I thought it may help anyone who isn't familiar with the game realise that it generally scores highly, so obviously worth buying if you're a fan of the genre.I'm not really familar with IGN, as I don't really use review sites much myself, it just happened to be the first review that showed up on google.
I like Gamespot, they seem a bit more grounded. Metacritic is good but you have to take it all with a pinch of salt and, in my opinion, IGN are right up they're own ****.

youtube= classic game room and Angry Joe (angry joe is both entertaining and honest)
They gameplay is also pretty abysmal across all 3. They decided they couldnt be bothered to fix the 'wallbouncing' issues out of sheer laziness, and the cover system is extremely poor. Even Mass Effect has a better system.
Its worth playing dont get me wrong, but ultimately the arrogance and stupidity of the snobs at Epic ruined the series.
(does that make sense? Looking FORWARD?)

This comment is wrong on so many levels...
To say that the first Gears of War has the 'best' multiplayer is not true at all even though I'd say it's one of the best of its time without a doubt. Gears of War 3 has an exceptionally working multiplayer/ community and Epic do weekly events and have dedicated servers that provides better online connections in comparison to peer to peer multiplayer connections such as Modern Warfare 3 or Mass Effect 3. They also do various playlist types and general changes every week. Furthermore you don't need an online pass for any Gears of War game (which makes them a bargain pre-owned) and Epic give out free multiplayer dlc when they could charge like CoD and Battlefield etc.
If you're referring to the 'competitive' multiplayer of Gears of War 2 (which obviously you are) then you're right (for the ONLY time) it is disappointing, as the lead designer 'Cliff' has openly admitted. However casual players (who pick this up for a few pounds) might enjoy private games, online co-op campaign and Horde mode in which you fight wave after wave of enemies. All of these modes work fine over an Internet connection.
What other statements do you come out with.. .watered down campaign? What on earth does this mean? It's a survival horror TPS not an RPG! Scripted boss fights? Erm the game doesn't rely on bosses but when they appear it is exciting, not scripted..lacking the atmosphere of the first? No that is also not true as all of them have the same survival horror theme.
The cover system is bad?!? Mass Effect and many other games have copied and 'altered' the system due to its superiority. I actually can't believe some of your 'opinions', and then you finish off with the general gameplay being 'abysmal'? Unbelievable really when you give no reasoning whatsoever...
By the way, wallbouncing is a technique that is used by 'experienced' Gears of War players that helps you to disorientate your enemies and prevent you from being shot if used correctly. Epic have even stated this and it isn't even a problem as far as game mechanics are concerned as you merely go in and out of cover extremely fast that it looks as if you are 'bouncing' (hence giving you the advantage in gunfights with multiple opponents). Furthermore there is an 'alternative' control scheme included on Gears of War 3 specifically for 'experienced' players that improves your wallbouncing accuracy...hardly an issue is it? Yes they are so lazy that they improved the control scheme to help improve your wallbouncing accuracy...
'ultimately the arrogance and stupidity of the snobs at Epic ruined the series'...erm...what on earth does this mean? I think you need to research how to construct a reasonable and valid argument worth reading when the deal is a few pounds for a great game..hence the nine out of ten score from IGN- not a perfect game but it's still highly innovative, highly polished and generally outstanding in EVERY AREA, not just competitive multiplayer. There are things such as art, design and sound to consider with regards to a video game.
I've gave you accurate and fair arguments for your 'opinions' based on my experience of playing all of the Gears of War games.
In the future, don't waste people's time (like mine) with such an embarrassing comment that doesn't even have an unbiased argument.
P.S HEAT ADDED, great price for a generally great game. If you haven't played a Gears of War game I highly recommend it, as it is one of the best Xbox 360 exclusives you can get...

Yeah I know, bad idea, I just thought there may be some people that don't, but it would seem quoting IGN was not a good choice, so I've removed this from the title.;)
Not a bad deal indeed. :D
BTW, as a newbie, welcome to HUKD
