These are crap. Rubbish response time and frequency, there isnt an alternative though unfortunately. Better build than the previous white remote though.

..and yes these are £8.99 in Sainsburys.

Price has gone up to £15 now :(

Got the original white one and I love it.

The backlight on the buttons is a really great feature and using other remotes in the dark just annoys me now as you can't see anything and end up changing channels rather than adjusting the volume.

The original white one is better, it just looks ****. It has more functionality and backlit buttons. The new one looks 100x better but is worse in every other way.

But not nearly as convenient or easy to use.

Can confirm the £8.99 in Sainsbury's.

Definitely recommended if you use Netflix or Lovefilm via your 360.
Was pleasantly surprised to find it worked with our no-brand telly as well.

Wouldn't bother buying for PC use. I bought one for testing and I ended up selling it and sticking with the old white one for the Xbox and the Philips SRM 5100 for the PC.

    Black remote falls down on:
    - combined play/pause button so if it's not picked up first time, you have to click it another two times
    - doesn't have the option to toggle into TV mode like the white one has, so you still need to keep the TV remote handy for anything other than the most basic functions
    - not backlit
    - no media centre button

The buttons are far nicer/more tactile than on the white one but that was its only redeeming feature for me.

i probably would save the 10 towards a kinect as it has the voice enabled control [not everyones cup of tea, i know], and i remember seeing the crappy old white remote for something crazy like £2 at cex sometime ago.
Deal price is ok so heat added

A couple months ago when play.com had them in stock I paid £7.99 for it... And with knowing that asda and sainsburys are selling it for the same price or a little lower, I'm confused why this is so hot :| I wouldn't say it's a hot deal... seems like the going price for it.
