which is great if you live in ireland :w00t:. but for me in the north east of england ( grimsby) it makes it rather hard to get.

Yep that is strange how on a forum with hundred thousand uk members someone lives quite close to you ;-)

Nice to see Norn Iron getting a break for a change. Albeit a minor one.

how long until the first post about how this is a dead technology?

You do realise there are only 2 gamestops in the whole of the uk? Birmingham Bullring and Stockport?

Not exactly nationwide :) I might as well mention the bloke down my local market that's selling them then!

It's already been said. I wouldn't pay £10 for this, so I certainly wouldn't pay twice that for obsolete technology
Anyone wanna buy an Iomega zip drive? I'll sell it for £19.99 lol

May aswell take down all the Digital Direct, Comet etc etc deals then if thats the case.
#13
Its not quite dead yet.
#14
It's far from dead and with the amount of these sold I would not be surprised if MS get a renewed interest somewhere in this (in some sort of way), and add all the separate players sold I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few future film titles also released as an HD-DVD option.....
#15
In the states they gave a good refund for people who bought this anytime after novemner at full price. UK misses out as usual - including me :(

You've lost me sir, Comet has stores nationwide so you've got a good chance of getting any offer posted regarding them (aria cordless phone for example) Digital direct seems to be an online company which offers delivery?

As far as im aware the gamestop hd-dvd deal is only available instore so you really are very very lucky if one of the 2 high street stores it has is local.

Comet and digital direct don't deliver to Northern Ireland, nor is their any Comet stores here, not exactly nationwide so I might as well mention the bloke down my local market that's selling them then!

The original thread is about a £19.99 deal that's available instore from a national retailer in the uk mainland (roughly the best price from a major high street chain) - so posting it's available cheaper from a store that is N.I based and another that only has 2 stores in the uk is'nt a real valid cheaper alternative for the majority of people viewing this thread who have come in seeing its from a mainland uk supplier.

There is a whole seperate thread for the Xtra vision deal for those in NI for those trying to get hold of it for a good price over the water.

Don't get the wrong end of the stick though - I think the way that companies charge stupid p&p costs to NI is a total rip off.
#22
I think he has every right to mention the gamestop deal for those in Ireland who may have (somehow) over looked the original deal even if it's not available nationwide.

It's just that I've seen a few deals posted on here that are available to certain regions, 'available in wales/surrey/outer hebrides only' and OPs getting slated for posting them because it's not nationwide. I'm not saying you're one of them mind!
I just feel that if there's a deal to had and it's only available to a certain few on these wee isles they should be posted anyway.
You're 100% right about the postage - flippin' scandalous.

Sorry to rant but it's not directed at you because i think you know where I'm coming from!

Hot for me.
Wanted the big remote and non of our game stores have them pre-owned so was looking at £10 of ebay anyway and now i have a external dvd drive to install stuff on my eee plus a hd-dvd for my xbox.
Now just to but a couple of hd films for when we finally get a big tele!
£20 a bargain.

Incidently this is not expired as i got mine today.
#24

Picked up new drive and 2 hddvd's for £24.99 today at the Huddersfield store. The films i got were 40 year old virgin and Bourne Ultimatum. Had choice or any two titles. Asked if they had many left and they replied yes!!
