Do you're research, you'll discover this is a good deal!!!

If you find an OFFICIAL cable that beat this price, let me/us know about it.
I got tired of looking for a 'cheap' cable for my xbox...

I missed out on Amazon's great deal of £12... it's gone up to £16.99 now!
I've never used dealextreme... not a sure if I can be bothered to buy something from the states...

So YEAH, I know you can get it 'cheaper'! BUT right now, at this exact moment in time, I belive this to be a nice solid purchase from a local reputable store.
It;s also a couple of quid cheaper than the likes of PLAY, and AMAZON at 'THIS' moment in time...

I'm fed up of waiting for the steal of the century, so I'm just gonna get this...

I posted the same deal for Dixons and it got very cold...just a warning!

Relievo, Deal Extreme's Hong Kong based, not US. I have been using them for a few years now so can safely vouch for them. They are very good price wise and the customer service is also very good, I had a couple of DS cards go missing in the post in the run up to Christmas and they replaced them for me with no hassle. They can be a wee bit slow delivery wise but other than that, I've never had a problem with them.

I wouldn't say this was particularly cold, for the overpriced 360 AV pack its quite reasonable. You can of course pick up 3rd party Audio Dongles for the 360, but there are problems with them not being wired right So for that reason, it's not worth getting from DealExtreme.

Thanks for that Mickrick,
I'll consider looking at them again. You know what it's like, you get used to buying things from familiar places... as soon as the price is in '$', I'm like... erm... maybe I'll look somewhere else 1st.

I think the cable that DEx do for the xbox is unofficial and has issues with resetting the console when you change channels.

But bessides that, it's worth a look.

Personally I would avoid DealExtreme for all but cheap cables, lights etc, they are renowned for selling fake stuff, and not all of it is good.

It is annoying that although Microsoft have lowered the price of the 360 Elite, so have they also cut corners with the supplied leads, at one time they used to provide the optical audio dongle, now they dont give you that, or even the component lead with optical out.

If I needed a hdmi cable and the av dongle then I would buy this as its a good price for official stuff.
Voted hot.

I'm going to finish my cup of tea, put my shoes on and walk to currys down the road and pick one up in 5 mins flat. If I have any issues with the audio/HDMI, I'll just strut it back down to them :)

...just like the good ol' dayz

I didn't realise they were worth so much - I'll stick the 2 I have on ebay :)

For the record, I just went and bought one. The HDMI fit in perfectly along side the optical out.
No fiddling about and cracking open the case to 'force' it to fit.

Ah... 5.1 xbox, can't knock it! :-D

I dont understand why you need to buy this?

Before i used to have my xbox connect to tv via hdmi £2 cable and audio through optical to dvd surround sound 5.1

Now have it connected to computer monitor via hdmi and used the old xbox connector to connect to pc speakers. I know microsoft make the original connector to block out the hdmi slot but a hammer and 3 blows takes the bulky case off the side blocking the hdmi port and everything fits perfectly.

I can think of a few reasons.

Firstly like the unofficial Audio Dongles, it can have problems with resetting the Xbox 360 on channel change.

Secondly it provides nothing but a redundant mess of wires at the back of the 360 with unused component leads and a taped up cracked open connector.

Thirdly, to cheapen manufacturing costs the Elite as well as not coming with the HDMI Cable and audio dongle, does not even come with a component cable (only a composite cable, same as the Arcade) meaning you would have to buy a component cable anyway, therefore whats the point?

Before voting this deal cold, I think people need to research what currently the 360 comes with, and what options are available to those that cannot get 5.1 from their receivers via HDMI.

For anyone with a new Elite or Arcade there is two options, buying a HDMI Cable + Audio Dongle or buying a Component Cable and utilising the Optical out on that.

Considering official Component Cables are £12+, then this doesn't look such a bad deal (and currently the cheapest price for the official HDMI A/V pack)

I feel sorry for the original poster here, having a deal voted cold by those that have not done their research.

Component cable - no longer supplied by Microsoft with the Elite, and never has been with the Arcade.

Unofficial Audio Dongle - Not ideal, has to be cracked open and resoldered to avoid the resetting problem.

Cost of official component lead and the HDMI A/V Pack - Comparible with this deal.

I was going to buy a cheap reprod. version from DealExtreme, but after reading this I think I will get an official one... FYI, this seems to be the cheapest I have fond so far. Thanks.

Heat added! :)
