Really? As far as I can tell it's gone down by a fiver in a week. Plus, this being Gzoop/Priceminister means I'd probably spend that extra fiver and buy from GAME.

+ 6 or 8% quidco, makes this a good deal!

Yep. About another £50 off and I might think about it ..... if they've managed to produce any decent games for it by then.

And then 6 weeks after buying it, it can go in the holdall along with the fishing rod controllers for the DC, the zapper for the Wii and other assorted pointless console gizmos I never use!

ive used them before and they were fine (bought band of brothers tin blu and it was mint and came in a few days)
#18
I am guessing kinect has been a bit of a failure with the way prices have dropped on it. No decent game for it and like the Wii only suits certain types of games.
#19
I can certify that this is a whole "nother level" of fun over your standard console, including the wii (which I also have).

my kids are fully occupied with kinetimals and kinetic advantures for weeks and months

I've also used them without incident. As usual, horses for courses, methinks.

As far as the Kinect is concerned: I would purchase at this price, but until they get an actual game to play on it, there's no point, and I'm happy to wait. The price can only continue to drop while I do so, so no biggie.:)

Yup a big flop

It depends entirely upon what you are after. I'm not saying they're not good in their own right, but to me they're not games. They're what I label as 'party games', for want of a better label. Anybody that regularly plays normal games - things like Mario, GTA, Halo - would consider them as something very separate. Not bad, just different. This is my gripe with the Wii. It seemed that Nintendo were only too happy to let it be flooded with family-oriented drivel, which means that actual games are few and far between. I know it makes sense financially, but I can still grumble.:p

Anyway, I've waffled enough. Roll on that blockbuster title that I can sink my teeth into.:D

no, i understand the whole concept of the 2. im ultimately replacing the wii with this for party games. the only problem i find with the wii are:

1) the games are too easy as its mostly aimed at kids (tho i consider myself quite good at games thus suffering more than others
2) once youve played a lot of different games, the actions kinda blend into one and you kinda stop working a sweat as you develop little tricks and ways you dont have to actually move your whole body

however, with the kinect, you are forced to use the whole body so hopefuly its more of a workout and from what ive played, some of the games are quite hard (or increases to a hrad level)

You only need to hold guide and press up 2x then A for that

I got the kinect from them a week ago for £3 more. Was delivered quickly. Only complaint with kinect is floor space - Had to move the sofa to get full 3 meters of play space it seems to need!

One game you will probably want is the new star wars game!
#29
Aye I used this lot to buy it when it was £85 last week, no problem at all.

Think I'll go for it. Was waiting for Child of eden to come out anyway.

"Child of eden to come out anyway."
I was at gadget show earlier today and chatting to the ubisoft guys demonstrating child of eden. The game looks and plays amazing. They say the release date will be 17th june2011 they got the xbox version ready to go but got alot of the secrets for the ps3 version they were keeping tightlipped.
When i saw them at lunchtime the only thing was they were saying that they were virtually knackered and they still had another 4 and half days of demonstrating.I offered to be a volunteer but unfortunately they said no one apart from them was allowed to unlike gears of war 3 which also looked awesome.

Good games coming, Child of Eden, Star Wars Force Game, Gun Stringer, Rise of Nightmares, Steel Battalion, Forza 4, Project Draco to name a few - real games not party games, great device, as soon as its taken advantage of its gonna sell a load more and already the fastest ever selling electronics device, so MS must be happy, lower price point also equals competition, 1 Wii controllers and Two Nuchucks and a Wii Console is around same price as a 4GB Kinect Option although you get a decent gamers Console as well!! and you ge he novelty of saying XBOX Kinect until it gets boring ;)

How do you know they are going to be good games? Just because they are 'real' games doesn't make them automatically good. If you are buying a Kinect for hardcore games then I'd hold off until there are actually some out and confirmed as good. Great technology does not necessarily equal great games.

OK so i assume, but my opinion is based on game preview reviews, game-play footage basically an informed opinion, Google them and I am sure you will see they are all anticipated games for kinect as they have real development time, money spent on them an are not rehash sequels, i guess its the same way I can say good Xbox game coming Arkham City on the basis of the above informed information.

and I didn't buy Kinect for hardcore games, I bought Kinect for a mix of party and hardcore games, also do you own a Kinect?

Arkham City is a sequel.
