Not bothered if they don't come for a while, but I'm snapping a few of these up whilst they're cheap!

HOT!

My advice would be to buy at least 2 of these at 4200 point card go for at least £35 if not more so if you buy 2 or saving at least 9 quid more if you have a virgin credit card :)

Basically we all get extra fleeced into spending more cash with microsoft for enhancing our games we have already spent all our cash on, or some suckers get roped into paying for some old movies and getting extra fleeced.

Buy and use points wisely with caution, its a rip off but thats where Microsoft have us by the short and curlies.

jeeez people like you always moanin... its an OPTION you know, you dont HAVE to buy anything!

some people WANT to extend the life of their games with add-ons

some WANT to watch a movie or listen to music by downloading it to thier box

I have no interest in any of it myself, BUT im glad the OPTION is there if i did want to
#15
Grrrr - Zavvi isn't accepting my virgin card - it's never had any problems with it before...

Also, there are some excellent original games to be downloaded from the marketplace, off the top of my head I'm thinking Braid, N+, Bionic Commando Rearmed...with most games costing between 800 and 1200 points, that makes em out at about just over £6 which is a bargain in my opinion. Plus the fact you can try them all before buying them means you're not often going to land yourself with something you hate!

Yay! Had to re-add my card, but it's finally worked!

Get off your high horse I am not always moaning, in fact quite often I add a lot of useful help to threads....soemtimes my cynical wit comes out, not my fault if you don't like it...geez...

I don't have a problem with people buying these points, what I do have a problem with is the expense (which has been reported is not proportional worldwide with exchange rates) its lack of value for money, and for the most part the ridiculous cost of certain add ons/old movies.

Such as like "The Lost Boys", would you really want to spend 450 points on an old title like that that you could pick up on dvd for a couple of quid?
#17
We PC users usually get all those addons for free. :p

Voted hot as it does seem like a good deal. I looked on the 360 Live site and HD movies seem to be about 500 Points each which isn't bad at all (when 2100 points cost £13). Out of curiousity could someone tell me what the HD quality of the movies are like? Equal to Blu Ray?

The only problem i can see with buying things like movies off LIVE is that if, say in 8 years time Microsoft stops supporting LIVE, you will lose everything you bought. I much prefer to have something solid that i can wtach wherever and whenever i want. Just my 2 cents.

i never said YOU were always moaning... but THAT was definately some moanin!!!

like i said, they are offeing a service, you dont HAVE to buy it!

using your example, if you cant afford to pay 1 or 2 quid over the high street price then yes, you will be allowed to either get the bus into town, wander around shops (inside opening times) and return 2 hours later with your reward... OR, order online and wait approx. 2 days for it

I dont pay for SKY television as i am happy with just digital freeview, BUT i hear they have a few customers out there!

Personally I prefer to be tech savvy and use the Xbox 360 to stream media myself, I just feel a lot is overpriced garbage, thats my prerogative, if you call that moaning then so be it!

When you consider a lot of online DVD rental services are cheaper, £10 per month unlimited rentals of DVDs with certain options, then using that as a comparison I would say that the Microsoft points system can be somewhat unfair.....but for some reason you consider constructive criticism or cynisism to be moaning

Back to the deal thread, I voted hot on what is a good price, but still feel that the Wii Points and the Xbox points are ridiculous, bu there again being tech savvy and used to homebrew etc I guess I am going to huh.
#21
Yeah the points are a huuuuge ripoff when we are asked to buy new maps and the kind for games that have sold for £40. That's taking the ****.

But the original and classic games on there are worth the cost.....
#22
Cheers bought 4200, great find.
#23
Just ordered more points. That will mean I'll have 6300 when these arrive. I buy loads of points but never seem to use them. Maybe I'll buy GTA:SA now.

Buying this as Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix is out this month which I want and some other XBLA titles :)
#26
Good deal, i bought some last time they were on still haven't spent them all so don't need them.

Side note, surely anyone using this site doesnt pay 40 quid for a game anyway, those days are long gone. In some cases the extra content has been more expensive than what i paid for the game! haha thanks HUKD.

Lol, you don't know Microsoft then. Microsoft is first and foremost a moneymaking enterprise. And they will eventually drop LIVE for a new online system. Just like how they keep releasing new Operating Systems and dropping support for older ones. I'm not saying they will stop supporting it any time soon but 'Impossible' is too strong a word.

No idea, tesco.com also have the lips version available for preorder
#31
just to point out, there is a lips game due for release on the same day!
i think these points will only be redeamable on this game?

anyone else of this opinion?
#32
for what its worth the Zavvi return service is very good, freepost and refund within a few days (make sure you get a certificate of posting!), so if you go nuts and preorder too much (like I may have) you can always return them if you come to your senses post-delivery.

Hard to predict what the MS exchange rate is going to do, so this may not be such a good deal over christmas (they'll be pushing the NXE hard so probably some deals to be had), but this'll make a good stocking filler for some of the arcade junkies I know.

They work on all games, the front cover will just be different to try and enhance sales
#35
Just out of interest how much do these normally go for?

I may have need of them in the not too distant future.

RRP is £17.50, I think. They seem to be sold for £16 most of the time.
#37
Not bad at all. A while ago I got 4 x 2100 from Tesco Jersey for around £52, though I see their price has now gone up to about £16 per 2100 pts.
#38
(Pre) Ordered 2 and voted hot, thanks.

preordered 4, voted hot.
