I have just bought the following today in Argos,

Xbox 360 Mega Pack. 568/0731
online it shows, remote , wired controller(long flex!), stand and
face plate, all for £19.99
However the good news is that in its self is great but when we picked
up from our local store it also had the steering wheel and pedals in the box aswell.
So all that for £19.99.

A good price; you pay double for the PS3 equivalent from them, and you get less content for your money, it seems.
#2
baah all sold out at all Argos around me, great deal nonetheless if the wheel comes with it :) hot

Have this, came with my Xbox when I bought it from Argos and a steering wheel came with the set. The faceplate isn't great, basically a sticker on a standard plate which started coming away, but the controller is fine for passing off to a mate. Never used the DVD stand, doesn't hold much and doesn't look that great. DVD remote is very useful if you use the 360 as a DVD player.

only one thing you need to steer the wheel with your thumbs its so small

I take it that it's this one?

Have reserved one - Cheers!

i saw this deal on the clearance stand in Wandsworth Argos on Monday, asked the lady if i don't like it can i return it, she said no, only if it's faulty....

After reading reviews, i didn't take the risk in buying it.

I would rather splash £60 something on the original 360 wireless wheel.

nicw as a destructible set for the kids to use, or as an occasionally controller for a mate who couldnt care less, other than that most third party kit is tosh, unfortunately :(

Only handy thing is the remote (I have the exact same one), and they are less than a fiver on fleabay

one word of warning on the steering wheel, step-bro has it and the lag on it compared to a controller was UNBELIEVABLE... he's "gotten used to it", but i lasted 3 laps lol
#8
this must be a glitch because the wheel shouldn't be included. can anyone confirm that this isn't just a one-off?
#9
Not even showing up on argos site now.
#10
got one reserved in Lanark

How can you compare it with a PS3 accessory?

I might aswell end up saying.... you ain't gonna get the red ring of circle on a PS3!

My mate picked one of these up when he got his xbox, probably the only useful things are the controllers (gamepad and remote).

I can bet anyone that you'll use the steering wheel for a while (if you do use it, that is) and then never use it again. They're just not the same.

Yep the wheel in this set is rubbish, I got this set free with my 360 and the only 2 things I got any proper use out of were the stand and the remote but the remote decided to stop working soon after I started to use it.

Yes but with the PS3 equivalent you get a HDMI lead, charging lead and a wireless controler, and you dont get less for your money someone at argos has probably made a mistake and gave out the wrong box to the OP.

This is exactly what you get in the box, the picture on-line is not accurate, when you see the package in store you will see everything on the box,

they had about 5 in stock in wandsworth SW18 on monday but i would spend £20 on something else if i were you
#17
They have boxed stock of this on display at the Merry Hill Branch, marked as £19.99 for the set with the wheel, so is def not a mistake..
The set isnt that bad, the quality is a bit naff, but the wheel is suprisingly good (as long as you calibrate it properly within the game you are playing) and contrary to what has been posted, does not suffer from any lag that i have noticed, not in test drive unlimited anyway.. not tested it with anything else as was bought the wireless wheel for christmas and that rocks
#18
ordered one in glasgow cheers

If you are worried about getting a package that does not include a wheel just ask to view it (before you pay) when you go to pick it up.

The wheel is good for kids but is wayyyy to small for adults and teenagers. For £20 its a bargain, I'm sure these used to be about £70.
#20
cool thanks, fiancee been looking for a WIRED controller so can use it with pc too, for his emulators (oh the boredom for me this week i can see, thank god for the karl pilkington book post few weeks back) be a result if we get the steering wheel with ours too, as it doesnt say you do but lots people seem to have done. be nice suprise for him. thanx
#21
I thought the 360 didn't have ports for wired controllers because they were all wireless?

Only those 2 USB on the front...

I also got one 'free' with my 360 that i bought last October.

I got the wheel/pedals, and everything else above. Please be aware it's "Madcatz" as i recall and not the original gear.

It's okay but does seem a little tacky, in the catalogue last Oct it was down at £60, which was a bit of a rip off. The wheel is pretty good, but the rest is tacky, the controller is flimsy and pretty awful to use even if you are casting it off to your mates.

Still, at £20 i don't suppose you can go wrong if you're going to use the wheel/pedals at the very least.

Not a bad deal for throwaway stuff! Don't use that stand though, and never have the 360 standing vertical, you're likely to laser burn your discs!

It was the PS2 games that got laser burn because of standing it vertical not the 360 games and standing it vertical is supposed to keep it cooler, or so I read and I have never had my 360 overheat or crash on me yet.

One or two on the back as well

Ah, stop comparing this to a PS3/PS3 Pack, that's just silly.

I can't remember if the stand is for the 360 or DVD's, but if its for the 360, don't bother using it. Your discs will scratch and eventually, if not instantly, become unreadable.

EDIT: Still voted hot though, cos this is cheap for the actual product.

Confirmed - comes in largish box with picture of wheel prominently displayed.

Checked stock when I was at work this morning, picked mine up from another store on the way home and yes it has the wheel, there was 1 left in the Conwy store at around 1pm, no where else has any.

The stand is for the 360 and has slots to store games/dvds.
#34
Just picked the last one up from Argos in Basildon, a very good deal for the money.

I can also confirm that Streering Wheel and Peddles are included in the box.

Westgate?

is the steering wheel THAT poor. someone confirm please with a cherry on top.
#37
It's a decent wheel, i've been using it on pgr4 and I can't see why people don't like it, it's not THAT small to be honest and it does actually steer the car properly, happy with mine.

The cable is very long too in case anyone is wondering.

Yes that's the one.

None at Pips hill either.

360 also has a loose disc tray system dude, its exactly the same, except when the 360 does it, its usually worse.

None in any of the Cardiff stores. Just managed to reserve one at the Pontypridd branch. They're open til 8pm so will grab it on the way home.

I was planning on buying a DVD remote anyway, and if the wheel works with Forza Motorsport 2 and Ridge Racer 6 then I'm happy. Also the extra controller is a bonus if I have mates over.
