no it isn't the best deal.. rather clearance, since there's a 60gb version on the market..

Still good value in my opinion, unless you're going to take advantage of the feature to install games to your HD that will come with the next dashboard update or you buy a LOT of DLC you'd no fill 20Gb IMHO, I've had a 360 for more than 2 years and if I deleted my demos would have loads of space.

i think its good value, i never even need to fill the 20gb i have had for the past year or so

I have just bought a 120gb drive, because as we all know the Autumn update is going to totally change the way the 360 is used, I for one want the ability to be able to play the games from the hard disk and not have that annoying racket and extra heat generated by the dvd tray spinning up constantly in games like GTA IV.

Personally think that anyone with a 20GB hard disk should be thinking of upgrading it soon. Not essential but with changes at foot with Xbox Live its advantageous.

Had my 360 since launch. Never bought much dlc. Had to upgrade my hdd the other week as I was getting fed up of running out of space.

Whilst this may not be the best deal out there, you can bet it won't have a new Lite-On drive in there (will either be a Hitachi v79 or a BenQ) - perfect for modding.

Voted hot....despite it being the premium model, it's still an excellent price with 2 games and 2 wireless controllers including the 20gb harddrive and headset.

I've seen people rate the Arcade version with 1 game for the same price scorching hot, so I don't see why this isn't at least on par.

Probably because since then the price of the Arcade has gone down in price, this in reflection to a Premium with a 60gb hard disk with two recent games is extremeley lukewarm in my opinion

Yeah but how much is an Arcade now, worth the difference plus the extra controller on top of the games, right?

Don't forget there's also 5.5% cashback in reward points and Quidco on offer too, which is about £8.25. :)

P.S People shouldn't expire the deal, purely because they don't like the offer, as I just checked and it's still available.

Reasonable deal in my opinion. But for £20 extra you can get the 60GB version with a newly released game (Star Wars, Tiger Woods 09, Battlefield etc). Depends on whether you're in need of the 2nd controller, or particularly want to play the oldish releases of Forza 2 or Viva Pinata. I'd go for the bigger hard drive and newly released games personally.

I dont get it. A thread for the £129 arcade version with one game is at 300+ degrees.

This has an extra 20gb HDD, wireless controller, headset, and 2 games for just £20 more. Ok, the games are basic, but the HDD would cost ~£40 to buy, and the extra controller ~£25, but here you get the lot for just £20 more!

Oh god - most people are able look further than the blinkered 'new version now = this is old and rubbish' view.

Whats the difference between the 60gb version and this? - you drop 40gb, which I expect most ppl wouldnt use anyway, but gain an extra controller, headset, and a couple of 'get you started' games. PLUS you get to keep £20 in your pocket.

While it may now be a discontinued line, the product itself performs the same as the 60gb version - it plays the games.

tell me about it this 360 imo is a much better deal if your not gonna bother loading games onto the hd which i see as a bit pointless. the 360 itself is exactly the same! forza 2 may be getting on a bit now but is still a great game

I can understand where you're coming from, and if you feel that you don't need the storage, then fair enough.
One of the criticisms of the 360, is the amount of noise that the disc drive makes whilst spinning. So installing games to the hard drive will sort out that problem.
Lots of people like to store music on the hard drive too, that can be played in game.
Then there are the demos and downloadable content, films etc.

Also, the actual usable formatted hard drive space you have, is less than 20 or 60gb anyway. On the 20GB, its more like 15GB of usable space.

I'm not saying that this deal is bad, in any way, just that some, including myself, would want a 360 with triple the storage, and a more recently released game, for £20 more.

But you must also add into the equation the following, this deal sits rather uncomfortably between the new 60gb Premium and the reduced price Arcade.

Now on face value it is a good deal over the Arcade, but could be considered a poor deal compared to the 60GB Premium....for a start it only has a quarter of the hard disk storage.

Secondly, whilst it has the bonus of the extra controller added in for bang for buck, Forza 2 & Viva Pinata can be bought as a bundle for a tenner. These packs have been bundled with Premiums since around August 2007 in the likes of Argos and Game (making it even more risky you may end up with a Zephyr rather than a Falcon)

Horses for Courses really, premium + £10 game deal + £30 controller and a lowly 20gb hard disk for £149.99

Premium + £40 Game for £169.99

You are getting £40 worth of stuff with both deals albeit the premium with the 20gb is £20 less in the deal but has a lesser hard disk value.

To top it all off, being an older premium you don't know what you are getting, chances are now all stocks of the original Premium (thank god) are gone, but you still have a chance of picking up a zephyr rather than a falcon.

Even within the falcon there has been redesigns underfoot. Any new 360 purchaser I think would find it more advantageous to go for the new deal.

There again it depends whether you are looking at this as a "are you crazy, for £20 more than buying an arcade you can have all this!" - albeit with the zephyr risk.....

Or "wow this still has a hard disk (although smaller) and is £20 less than a 60gb premium pack, I don't care for taking full advantage of the Autumn update and can live with a 20gb hard disk instead, and would prefer the extra controller"

Or "I am wanting a premium, for £20 more than this deal I am having a hard disk 2/3rds extra the size which will allow me to make use of installing at least 3 or 4 games at a time to play on my 360 instead of 1 or possibly 2, and a brand new game, and can if needed buy an extra controller at a later stage, but at least be safe in the knowledge I have a recent 360"

Weigh up all the options and I am sure you can see, on face value its a good deal, but its not without otherwise thinking, so therefore people can and will vote it cold according to that.
