Boots are selling the XBOX Premium system for £269.99 . Not too bad

But this code PFPC89 gets you 10% off if you pay via credit card or paypal

The console comes down to £242.99

Now if you have an advantage card, and/or quidco account - you can make even more savings:

You still get 500 advantage pts extra as standard on this purchase. Thus you receive 1579 points on your advantage card (worth £15.79)

You should receive 6.5% cashback from quidco - which is by happy coincidence also £15.79 (6.5% of £242.99)

- £242.99
+ £15.79 (on your boots card)
+ £15.79 (to your quidco account)

Therefore, behold this factb £211.41 - total effective price

I'm currently considering it!!!

There was just a post in the forum of a £19.99 wireless controller then i went anyone know of this

While I agree that this is a good deal & I actually bought my XBOX360 from Boots on a similar priced deal just before christmas (when they were doing triple points, discount etc), I believe that people in the market for a 360 would be wiser to hold off for just a couple more weeks. Microsoft may well decide to try & rain all over Sony's UK launch of the PS3 by dropping their prices & as a result better deals may soon be available.

I think if they were going to do this they would have started by now.... or you could say wait until xmas.

There will always be a better deal "just around the corner".......depends whether you are happy with that uncertainty or or happy to wait indefinitely

There is rumoured to be a new 360 with HDMI and a cooler CPU that will replace the current premium. The core will be dropped altogether.

shopto.net but their deals are currently not advertised on HDUK

I would go with Ollied on this one. I will be highly surprised if a price drop or one heck of a bundle is not announced to coincide with the ps3 launch
#9
Yes, even I am currently having an internal debate about whether to go for this. It is without a doubt a good deal, but the what if factor is particular strong on this one. However if you manage to combine all the discounts together a 60 pound reduction could still be better than a future bundle deal. arrrggh life is full of difficult dexisions

This offer was better the week before the triple points promotion, where they offered 10% off as standard (without the need of being a first time customer but i know there's slightly inconvenient ways around this but it's also without the need of using paypal) 4% in points, 1000 points voucher (double of what's being offered now) and 6.5% quidco.

I think the price will reduce very soon, due to the PS3 launch and the other better promotion will be back in force, so if you miss out on this offer, then don't feel bad, as these same promotions keep circulating around once a month.

Thanks Geoggy, a few questions...

1. Does the premium pack come with a vga cable included?
2. Will a vga cable give me high definition?
3. Will my monitor render hd resolution? - it's a new dell 19"

Make sure you get the Official VGA cable, not a third party brand. I know people who decided to save a few quid by going for a MadCatz VGA cable and the quality on it was awful. The official cables really are spending the extra few quid on.

This is the key with any purchase like this (consoles, computers etc) as soon as you buy one, there's the nagging feeling that the price will drop - as that's what these products do!

But everyone was expecting Microsoft to announce a price drop last year when the PS3 was launched in America and Japan, but it didn't really happen.

I recently bought an Xbox360 from Boots on a great deal with the triple points, and am very happy - even though I know the price will drop! May save a few quid, but would have missed out on many hours (days may be more accurate.... ) wasted on some great gaming sessions in recent months!!

Don't get me wrong, I hate the thought of hanging back on the off chance the next deal is gonna be a couple of pounds cheaper. However, I would just say that at this particular point in time it may just be worth holding off for a couple more weeks to see if there are any major announcements regarding a price drop or new bundle etc.

I suppose that's easy for me to say though as I already have a 360 & i'm loving it!! :-D

Totally agree Ollied - especially as I'm already in the same position as you as already have one!

I hate the thought on people missing out on the fun - but even more I'd hate to have people buy one on my recommendation only to see the price drop a week later!

Probably best if I shut up now.... :?

There have been rumours since January that there will be an xbox 360 v2 released. This will include a cooler processor, HDMI port and 120gb hard disc.

Even if it is released at the same time as the PS3 launch, you still might have to wait for stock levels of v1 to sell out.

I am trying to decide between this deal and the one in John Lewis.
Xbox 360 Premium + extra wireless controller + PGR3 + Arcade unplugged + WWE 2007 £299-£10 voucher code-5% Quidco = £275.50

Does anybody know trade in price of WWE2007?

For me, the difference in price is not really the big thing at the moment although we all like a hot deal & every little helps. I think I would be more gutted if I bought a new 360 now & then the following week a second generation version was announced/released with bigger hard-drive, and/or HDMI connectivity, and/or HD-DVD drive built-in etc etc.

/thinks - I wonder if any of the current XBOX rumours are true?

The Game Trade-In guide has WWE SvR 2007 at £19 for trade-in value.

Online version of the guide can be found at http://www.game.co.uk/lowdown.aspx?lid=7132&cm_sp=tradein-_-guide-_-tower

There certainly are a lot of Xbox360 v2/"Zephyr" rumours around at the moment, with a lot of current suspicion of a 1 May release in America. The general thought is that this will have a bigger drive, better cooling and HDMI - but no integrated HD-DVD.

I can't see the xbox price staying the same if they introduce a 120gb hard disc. How expensive is the 20gb to buy seperately now !?

I think that some decent bundles may appear when the PS3 is launched, they never seem to contain the games I want though !!!

Thanks for the trade-in guide esarty, got plenty of stuff to trade.
#28
I am in this very position, I don't mind losing a few quid to get one now over any minor price drops but I would wait a few months to get a v2 if it is true and specced as reported... I thought something would have been announced at the GDC last week but alas nothing at all was mentioned

have just bought this myself, looking to sell the games, i also got 3% bout £8 back on my credit card rewards, not bad its cost me £205 before i sold the games
#33
whirlers, it's slightly more expensive than your figures as 10% off 299.99 takes it to 269.99 minus the 35.99 in points = £234 before quidco
