Best deal I've seen so far since the price drops, voted hot.

This is a very good deal as shopto Price is £180 so this is 3 extra games for £30 (£10 per game). And even if u dont like the game you can sell them for alot more than £10 which will make it less than Shoto's price. On top of that u get 10% off with a Virign Credit card. Very Good deal :0

Good deal - wel spotted :)

You might want to add the name of the store to your title though to help the people who only use the 'text view.' :)

I bought this bundle earlier today, well worth it.

Was also happy to find it's the new lower power model, so less chance of RROD's due to lower heat emissions.

Only one thing annoyed me. I set it all up in one of the bedrooms upstairs, but when I tried to play assasins creed or lost odyssey it told me I couldn't play them without an update, so had to run a 15 meter CAT5 cable (which I just happened to have) across the house so I could connect and update the bloody thing.

Can't believe they're selling the games with machines that can't play them out of the box. What if someone who doesn't have an internet connection buys it for offline play only? There's no warning of a needed internet connection anywhere....

Oooh... I'm going into town in the mornin to get this bad boy... Is this a country wide promotion or could it be per shop deal?

Just what I posted in the £260+five games at Zavvi thread (bought mine yesterday). It's unbelievable that a £99 DS and a £129 PSP can be wifi ready, yet one of the leading 'next gen' consoles requires you to spend £50 to make it wifi. Crazy area for M$ to try and save a few quid.
#12
Hey, were do u get the discount card from
#13
Need to apply for it. Check the Virgin site.
#14
Bought this yesterday. Took games round to Game & got £51 making the Premium £159 which is OK.

Anyone want to buy a 20GB drive ;-)

For the uneducated - how do you check if its one of the cooler running ones?
#16
what good is the code if the offer is not available online?
#17
The newer and cooler 360 uses only 175 watts whereas the older one uses 200+ watts. So on the packaging, make sure it says 175 watts.

Hope this helps.

this is a good deal for a 360 but ps3 is better value 300 quid with two games, rechargeable pad, blu ray player, in built wi fi and free online game play !!!

if u want the same performance with a 360 have to buy charge kit for your pad, hd dvd add on, wi fi adapter and online subscription all would bring total cost past that of a bog standard fully functional PS3!!

i just think that sometimes people dont realise the extras they have to buy!
#19
I just called the local store (Nottingham) and there doing the deal and all in stock, however you cant use student discount, but they will take the Virgin Credit Card, but the kicker is because there now Zavvi they cant offer a card in store. So guess you have to apply online for that now. Hope this helps :o)

I have a virgin card when buying instore is there anything i need to do to get the extra 10%.

I don't (and I would guess most games console buyers) don't want to pay more than £200 for a game console and don't need or want hd dvd, charge kit or wifi.

I would buy a PS3 as a Blu Ray player if the price was low enough but for now the Xbox 360 (and to a lesser extent the wii) offer far more to me as a gamer.

Only my opinion though of course, and hope I'm not talking sh!t :whistling:

Be quiet, this thread is for a deal relating to nthe Xbox, not the PS3. If you would like to share a deal start a new thread.

No, a price drop was announced, effective last Friday (14/3). Plenty of threads around explaining this.

dabcabc >>> How bizzare is that ! ! ! LOL did you have a virgin credit card then ?
#28
Yep :D he got a bit confused about how to put the virgin cc deal through with the bundle code and had to get the manager involved...

yup i'm still preferring the PS3- as posted before, I was shocked that this one isnt wifi ready, it seems like M$ are saving just a few quid there. However, after going into CEX today, i've spent £60 and bought a whole pile of games, I would only have got two for the PS3 at that price. Burnout Revenge for £14 is brilliant- THPS American Wasteland for £8 another great price. So it's electrical swings and hydraulic roundabouts- but a 360 for this price is still a bargain. Xvid compatability is a real bonus too- means I can get rid of my HD player and free up a bit of space.

dabcabc >>> Where the games all retail seperate ones, or bundled, i.e. no barcodes saying for bundle only etc? Do you know how long the offer is on for? Is the PSU the 175 one? and the 360 the V2 with hdmi ?

He grabbed the games off the shelf so normal retail.

PSU 175W with HDMI port :)
#32
I got the BENQ

Excellent thanks - confirmed the one I bought from Amazon has a 175w PSU

If someone wanted all of the above then yes it would cost more. However the vast majority of people don't need a high def drive or wi-fi etc. You’re sensationalising unnecessarily.

birthday boy is well chuffed, just bought himself this deal from Coventry Zavvi, thanks very much for the post.
How did you find out about this? It wasn't online or advertised in store!
#38
Was advertised in my local store on Sat morning after i'd read about it here- big display by the tills and another in the 360 section. As i've noted here before, Zavvi/Virgin seem to take days to be arsed to change prices instore- lazy staff gits!

Got the Elite today at Metro Centre with Assassins, Halo3 & Lost Odyssey for £270 (and I bought another controller for £13). Great deal, it's a Falcon (175W power, made Jan 2008) and has the benq drive. Worth the extra £60 for the larger HD and I have HDMI * connectivity on my TV.... oh and I prefer the black console as it matches in with TV & stand

*Elite package contains the HDMI cable and audio breakout cable for 5.1
#40
HDMI is available on all models of xbox right now and so is the falcon. As long as you don't buy anywhere with old stocks, e.g. some Argos stores. Just to update, my 360 is a benq too. Very happy with that.
